Our group had a really lovely time staying on the lake. The view, the ability to take a boat out in the morning, and a dip in the afternoon... a delight! It's a little more rustic indoors, so be prepared to bring things like olive oil, or pepper, if you're planning on cooking. And linens aren't included. But beyond that, the VHS collection was very fun, and the grill and fire pit were also a great way to spend the evening. Thank you to Robb for a wonderful long weekend!

Enjoyed the peace & quiet of the area. The cabin sits at the top of a mountain overlooking a lake. Keep in mind after turning off "Main St " the house is on a single lane non paved road. If another vehicle approaches some one will need to back up. A big plus is the bar/restaurant (with great inexpensive food ) walking distance from the dwelling. Owners were very responsive.

We had a wonderful time at Ava's on Lake Desolation! The cabin has a wonderful location, right on the lake, with the most beautiful view! Our stay was so incredibly relaxing! This was our second time staying at Ava's and it won't be our last!

Enjoyed some peace and quiet at this cozy getaway. BBQed most nights and made s’mores on the fire pit over looking the lake. The lake itself felt clean even if bottom is muddy. We used water shoes. Took advantage of the kayaks and went to Desolation Island which was fun for our 5-year-old. The house itself is not fancy but cozy and nice enough to relax.

Had a fun/relaxed weekend at Robb’s cabin for my sisters bachelorette. Beautiful view off of the back deck, beds were a little stiff though.

My friends and I (4 total) went for a bachelor party and I would 1,000% recommend Ava's cabin! Not far from our experience at "Adirondack adventure center", Saratoga Springs Racetrack or (my favorite place in the entire world) Lake George. The cabin was amazing and spacious! The downstairs room (queen bed) had plenty of floor and dresser space for a girl who packs entirely way too much stuff! Lol. There are 2 living room areas and the bathroom was a perfect size as well. The outside space is so much nicer and roomier than depicted. GORGEOUS VIEWS! AMAZING SUNRISES AND SUNSETS! The house and lake itself are off the beating path but close enough to things that you weren't in the middle of no where. Cell phone service was mostly working fine. The AC and fans were enough to cool the downstairs. Hope this helped!

Enjoy a quick get away with our young adult kids. Relaxing get away with kayaking and paddle boards ( we brought the paddle boards). Love the peaceful lake. Nature watching- salamanders, fish, blue heron.

Cute cottage on the Lake with beautiful views. We enjoyed our stay. Quests should plan or be aware restaurants nearby not open Monday and Tuesday so plan accordingly. Also plumbing so sensitive there is a porta potty on the property.

My family and I spent five nights at Robb's property and had a wonderful time. Our dog was welcome as well which made the trip that much more special. We spent our time paddle boarding and canoeing on the lake and taking day trips to fun hiking spots around Lake George. The house is situated right on the lake giving you easy access to a quick swim or paddle any time of day. The house itself needs a little love but we felt very comfortable. The neighbors were great! Thank you, RobB!

We had a nice, relaxing stay on the lake. Cabin was clean and comfortable, and the owners provided lots of info on things to do in the area. They even gave us drink coupons for the local tavern within walking distance, which was a nice bonus, and the food there was superb!

It rained most of the long weekend, but time spent in the cabin couldn't be beat, with best friends. The cabin was comfortable and set up very well. The view while sitting in the "porch" was a wonderful consolation. We'll be back, and next time we'll get out on the water.

We had a great relaxing stay! It was an amazing time away from work and chores! We took the canoe out to the island and saw some beautiful fall leaves. We traveled with our 11 mo old and there was no problem there either! Robb was great and we loved the pictures of the dog all over the cabin 😊

we had a great getaway visit. the lake was beautiful and the cabin was very cozy with great views. we were close to Saratoga and some good hiking trails. Overall a great relaxing weekend!

Cabin located right on the lake. The inside is cute and tidy. Kitchen well equipped, mattress comfortable and bathroom modern. The lake is a gem - clean, refreshing water perfect for swimming and boat rides. Peaceful - only a few motor boats, lots of distance swimmers. Only compliant is late afternoon/ early evenings are very hot and there is little to no shade (highs were in the 80-90s). Air conditioner in kitchen is helpful while making dinner . Overall a relaxing get away!

We had a fabulous relaxing time at out stay at Ava's Cottage. The place is so cute and right on lake desolation. Loved that there were kayaks and canoes to use. The cottage is very comfortable, super clean, rustic with charm. Although a quick getway, it was relaxing and peaceful and we would HIGHLY RECOMMEND 🥰�

Everything we wanted in a lake cabin getaway. Cabin is waterfront with kayaks and canoes provided with the property. We spent all day swimming, rowing, and lounging around in the sun. We spent the nights hanging around the fire pit and looking up at the stars. Perfect break from the city. We'd definitely love to come back in the future, highly recommended.

Our week at Lake Desolation was awesome! The cottage was great and right on the lake. The location was very convenient to the boat house, the local bar/restaurant or just taking a walk. Robb was very responsive and our overall stay was fantastic. I would definitely recommend and we will be renting again.

The cottage had a fully equipped kitchen - a real plus for our family. We took full advantage of the deck and dock. Lovely woodwork and plenty of sofas to lounge in. We had one night of torrential rain and flooding and Robb was great about it all. The lake was perfect and we enjoyed the kayaks and swimming every day.

We had a lovely, peaceful weekend at Ava's Lakeside Cottage. The cabin was rustic and clean, and we actually liked the friendly spiders around (they stayed in their webs around the outside of the windows). We are sure they helped keep the rest of the bugs at bay-not one mosquito, which we were prepared for but didn't see! We used the fans in the cottage, and the temperature was perfect-not hot at all during the day and chilly at night. The lake is beautiful and we loved using the canoe to explore, including a little island in the middle. Beautiful lake views all around, and it was very enjoyable to sit on the deck while reading a book and watching the sun set. Just right for a quiet weekend!
