Stunning cabin in a 400 acre gated wooded park close to Pinecrest & Dodge Ridge

This cabin is exactly as pictured/described. We loved the large, open kitchen which was fully stocked. We had two kids (10 and 13) and 5 adults, and we all fit comfortably in the house with room to spare. We had dinners on the porch, enjoying the view. The host is lovely, very quick to respond to any inquiries. My only recommendation is to add an intercom from the upstairs to the downstairs, as you will lose part of the group to the epic gameroom!!!! Thank you Read family for opening your house to us, we had such a great visit!

My daughter asked if we could find a cozy place we could be surrounded by trees, play board games, and be together as a family. We found this listing and couldn’t have been happier with our choice. The check in process was easy. The house is stocked with everything you could need. Pinecrest lake is just a short drive away. We have 6 children and every one of them was in awe of the beauty of the furniture and layout of the home. The lighting throughout gives such warmth. We absolutely loved our stay and look forward to returning!

Hosted my bachelorette at this cabin and the girls loved it. The quiet neighborhood, close proximity to private lake and to Pinecrest Lake was amazing. We loved the upper deck space with amazing views of the trees. Lots of amenities and games, comfortable bedding. Worth every penny. The surround sound speakers throughout the main floor were a huge bonus. Only critique would be that the kitchen dining area is a bit cramped for a large group but you can easily spread to the counter or outdoor tables. 10/10 would reccomend.

Our family had an amazing time at this cabin. It is a beautiful home with lots of things to do. The deck allowed us to have amazing dinners and the downstairs had a pool table and ping pong. Plenty big for our family of 7. Just an amazing home and location. We loved it and would highly recommend.

What a perfect home for a family get away. Kids were in heaven in the lower level with a game room that puts resorts to shame. And the adults were upstairs gathering in the usual kitchen, dining and family room area. All in a setting that is stunning and quiet from any road noise. Loved it!

It was an exceptional experience in this property, which has beautiful interiors and lots of fun stuff for kids. Views are awesome and location is so convenient w.r.t Dodge ridge resort. Beautiful, peaceful getaway in the mountains
This a beautiful home, conveniently located near Pinecrest Lake. (15 minutes by car). It is very private and quiet with a small lake within walking distance. The game room is well equipped to keep the younger generation busy for hours while the adults can sip a glass of wine on the spacious deck. We had a wonderful family gathering.

Great weekend
Really nice house and location. The house is well-equipped with everything you need and has a number of games available to use. The owners were very responsive when we had a few questions.
Our favorite place to hang out was on the deck, around the table with the fire pit. The only problem we experienced the entire time we were there (and "problem" is a stretch), is that the gas for the fire pit apparently ran out so we could not use it the last night. I hard-lined our fire pit at home to avoid this issue, and it has worked out great for us. But that was not a big deal to us; we played dice and pool and darts that night instead.
Overall, A+ experience.

Already booked our return!
We loved this property, and are excited to return next year! The house and kitchen are well stocked. The kids and adults enjoyed the game room, the board games and the beautiful back deck(s). The home is very warm and inviting, and exactly what we wanted for a quick ski and snow weekend.

Spent Christmas
Great rental. We liked the layout of the place. From the main area to porch/decks to downstairs game area was great design. Having the covered porch/decks was great. We relaxed and gathered upstairs for cooking, watching tv, and opening gifts. We had a lot of smiles on this trip. It snowed on Christmas. We cooked out on porch and set up the fire pit. When we wanted to play we went downstairs, played pool, air hockey, poker and put a Christmas puzzle together. Nice place. We enjoyed it! Overall, very memorable and enjoyable Christmas holidays we will always remember.

Great place for relaxation

Winter Break.
Our best rental yet!! Great cabin with sledding hill in the neighborhood and tons of indoor games for everyone to enjoy. Dodge ridge is only 30 mins away for a day of skiing and snowboarding. Great time!

Early Family Christmas
This was the perfect house for a family getaway with adult children. There was something for everyone. It was big enough to have our own space but cozy enough to enjoy our time together. Perfect weekend!!

Fun for adults
Really enjoyed the stay. Had no issues but a shortage on tp. Game room was a blast. Everything clean and working. Very pretty place. We never left to do anything else. Beds were comfortable and view was relaxing.

Beautiful Home with Lots of Luxury
We took our large family to this home for a 3 night stay and it was spectacular! The house is well fitted with all sorts of amenties and entertainment. Our young kids had the best time! Deborah was super easy to communicate with and was very helpful through the whole process.
Our only negative, which is not under Deborah's control is that the community "lake" did not allow swimming at this time (guessing due to the drought and possibly algae) so we needed to try Pinecrest lake which is very popular and crowded, so go early for parking. Also be prepared to transport all of your garabage and recycling to the community dumpster, about .5 miles from the cabin...I have a pickup so no big deal.
Do yourself a favor and book this great getaway!

We SO enjoyed our time here! The house is lovely and the host gave us lots of information about activities nearby. Not too far from Yosemite and we enjoyed the scenery driving. Pine crest Lake was beautiful and some made the whole home to Cleo’s Bath!! Renting a pontoon boat was a great choice for us! And having the deck in the evenings was so great to all visit together!
Would absolutely recommend this house to anyone!

Looking for a family stay this home has the best of everything!
This home is very inviting, well cared for and set up for family enjoyment! We had a full house and plenty of space. The kitchen is well stocked with plates to pans. The upstairs is a relaxing area on the deck or setting around the kitchen bar area. The young adults enjoyed hours in the game room downstairs. Equipped with the best balance including a popcorn machine a wii and multiple game tables pool table,air hockey ping pong Ect. They had so much fun there, I took a lot of photos but forgot to take even one in the gameroom! There is no air conditioning but fans through out the home So even though temperatures where in the 90’s it seems to cool off with a cross breeze from the pine trees. Deborah was very quick to assist when we had to reach out (the community gate key failed) but she had a back up plan. Definitely a 5 star home and host!

Beautiful Cabin
We had an amazing time in this beautiful cabin. Our children had so much fun in the game room and it was nice to have a place to send them where they could have a great time while we enjoyed peace and quiet upstairs. This cabin is so much more then we could have asked for. Barbra was amazing and always there even in the middle of the night. Our stay was perfect. Thank you so much!!

Great Cabin
We had a wonderful stay at the Read cabin! The game room was perfect for keeping everyone entertained and the deck was where we would go for peace and quiet while looking out at the beautiful forest. We would stay here again.

Weather won't hold you down!
The home is so much more than the pictures show. Attention to every detail and cleanliness will make you feel at home.The decks are covered so regardless of what mother nature throws at you, the home is well equipped with plenty of family/friend entertainment and opportunity for a great time together.The kitchen is well stocked and has a large refrigerator to store your groceries & beverages. I brought my crockpot, blender and baking dishes just to find they had it all there!The surrounding grounds leaves much to explore and is close to many exciting adventures in town or on the nearby mountains.I've stayed in many VRBO's throughout the years and I have never stayed in a home that felt so welcoming. The downfall of staying here is that you won't want to leave.The owners have left everything labeled and have a binder of instructions for any assistance you may need with the heating, fireplaces, fire pits or the all-home speaker system.I didn't see my teenager and his friends all weekend as the downstairs basement which is the game room/bedrooms/bathroom was so incredibly pleasant and entertaining...they only left the room to eat! I can't wait till our next stay!

The house is amazing, very big with so much. I don't think the kids slept who spent their nights in the game room. The neighborhood is peaceful and beautiful. Can't wait to go again!

Fantastic Fall Weekend!
We LOVED this house and all that it had to offer. The covered deck was outstanding (would be fine in rain and snow too), with plenty of room for all of us to enjoy the firepit and fresh mountain air. The two bedrooms upstairs allowed us to put the kiddos to bed (they are too young to be on their own downstairs) and then enjoy some beverages and fellowship around the fire. The game room is wonderful and we took full advantage of the pool table, air hockey and foosball table. The neighborhood is super quiet, and we were able to take "nature walks" with the kids, who also enjoyed the playground and watching the ducks on the small pond. Note that the wifi is not super reliable (my son had a conference call and it was spotty), but we made it work. No stores or cafes in walking distance, so we did leave the area several times to pick up pizza, go to the market and mini-golf in Twain Harte. Deborah was wonderful to work with and the detailed directions are so helpful (make sure you read them!). We hope to re-visit this house again!

Very helpful host! We enjoy cooking and appreciated how well stocked the kitchen was. It would be helpful to have a few more glass or metal Mixing bowls for cooking but not a big problem as We brought a few.

Beautiful cabin!
We had a wonderful time at the cabin. The cabin is everything we hoped it to be and more. The place is very spacious for 2 families with four kids total. The kids enjoyed having their own space downstairs (surrounded by games) and the adults also enjoyed ours upstairs! We would definitely go back again!
