This place was perfect, it had plenty of rooms for everyone. The boathouse and porch were perfect locations to hang out and catch up with old friends. We brought our pups as well and they absolutely loved it. There were beautiful trails right down the road and the the road itself was quiet enough to walk them down

We came back for the 2nd year year in a row because we love the place so much! Pictures don’t do it justice. Managers are very helpful.

This was our fourth year at Sunny Cove and it continues to be my family's favorite trip of the year. The location is beautiful, the house is well-maintained and spacious, and Dave is a great host. Highly recommend!

Our group of three adults and two teens thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sunny Cove! The house has an authentic Adirondack vibe with a modern kitchen and super comfy beds. We particularly loved the swimming dock where there was a lot of cannon ball jumping into the refreshing lake water. We also very much enjoyed the deck atop the boathouse for peaceful early mornings with a cup of coffee. BTW, the lake was the perfect temperature. I was afraid it would be chilly during an early July stay but it wasn't at all. We hope to visit again (and again)!

Plenty of space and beautiful place.

An amazing location, large house with plenty of room for people to spread out. The boathouse deck and the dock had incredible views. Dave was a pleasure to communicate with. The option to use one of the boat slips is a great resource - one note that the water depth is shallow in the bay, which would make it difficult for boats with a deep draft - we ended up not renting a boat for the weekend and used the kayaks and paddleboards instead, which worked out perfectly for us. We would love to return to Sunny Cove again soon!

The place is beautiful, spacious and fun. Some of the furniture is very uncomfortable (family room).

This was our third stay at Sunny Cove and it never disappoints! The location is absolutely stunning— beautiful, quiet, and private. The house feels like our second home—comfortable, clean, and inviting. The play set and grill have all been updated which was a plus. Dave is always a pleasure to communicate with—very helpful! We enjoyed the trails close to the house and being on the lake—the canoes, kayaks, etc. are a plus! I could never imagine staying anywhere else in Lake Placid—We hope to be back soon!

We had great fun. Fire pit was wonderful.

My family and I will never get tired of Camp SunnyCove. We've gone every year for the past three years and our fondness of it only grows with each visit. The house easily accommodates all thirteen of us and the location couldn't be better -- right on Lake Placid with easy access to hiking and only a short drive to town.

Private place but close to town, accommodating for large groups. Awesome place and would come again.

Quiet. Tranquil. Awesome setting in a Cove. Boat traffic minimal and lots of room for the kids to play on there SUP’s and swim. No issues at all. Lovely home. Family friendly. Host was extremely accommodating and always available and helpful. Great place to “get away from the world”.

My siblings and I and our families recently spent a week at Camp Sunny Cove and had the best time. The property is big enough for all of us to be together, or to spread out and have “quiet time”. We brought a boat and the ability to use the boathouse was a huge plus. Fishing, kayaking, hiking, bonfires, and lots of laughing. Looking forward to next year !

Camp Sunnycove is a beautiful property! We used the camp as our “home base” while we were in town celebrating our wedding. There were plenty of amenities provided, including paddle boards and kayaks. Linens and towels were clean and plentiful. As the first renters of the season, we encountered some issues with appliances, but property owner Dave was readily available and attentive to all of our concerns. While a little inconvenient, Dave’s concern and attention made it all work out and for that we are incredibly grateful. We’d absolutely rent this property again!

During the week of Oct. 4th 2021 the leaves were at their peak color. The views across the lake were magical. Took a kayak out early each morning. Each day was unique with the fog, sunrise and colorful foliage.

Camp Sunny Cove is exactly as pictured and described. Beautiful setting RIGHT on the water, with multiple options for viewing and enjoying. The kayaks and canoes for guest use - with PFDs provided - are an uncommon amenity in a rental property. Dave is easy to reach and quick to respond when needed (we were there just as wasps were looking for an indoor home for the winter). The Peninsula Trails are accessible right from the yard for nice long leisurely walks, and the trailheads for ADK's more famous hikes to the peaks are nearby. Town is just a quick drive. All-around perfect place for visiting Lake Placid!

Property is in a nice quiet location on Lake Placid. Very roomy and pleasant. Hallways were a little dark and could use some lighting. Could also use a few more kitchen amenities such as serving spoons but overall it was a very pleasant stay.

We loved our week at Sunny Cove. Property is located on a the lake, in a isolated peacful cove. Great Views of the Lake and the sunsets are amazing. House fit 9 of us 15y.o- Adults nicely. Smiwing dock and use of kayaks and paddles boards added to fun. We rented the boat and thank the owners for use of docking at boathouse. Specail thanks to owner Dave who was very responsize and helpful.

Beautiful location on the water! Loved sunsets on the upper dock, swimming on lower dock and use of kayaks and paddle boards. The house has plenty of rooms and was very clean! Perfect location to get into Lake Placid, rent a boat or go horseback riding. Dave was very responsive and description of house is very accurate. Would love to go back again some year!

Tremendous overall experience A classic Lake Placid camp ! Dave the caretaker is terrific. Helpful yet un obtrusive. We will definitely be back.

This was the second summer my family stayed at SunnyCove and it didn’t disappoint. The house was in great shape and the location was perfect. So nice to have a quiet, beautiful space to spend time with extended family.

Stayed at Camp Sunnycove for a guys getaway, the house was very clean and the property looked even more amazing than the pictures. Dave was very helpful, we had a few questions and he met us at the property at our request to help us. Amazing lake views, water toys to use, and a boathouse deck that is awesome. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We had such a fantastic Memorial Day weekend with our pups and friends at Sunnycove. Absolutely love the location. It is so peaceful and was a fantastic retreat for the weekend, even with chilly and dreary weather. We took advantage of the indoor and outdoor fires, our friend kayaked and we took the dogs on the hiking trail which was beautiful. Memories were made, fun was had and we look forward to returning again.

Built probably in the 1930s and renovated perhaps in the 1990s, it is rustic with a timbered staircase leading up to 2 upper floors with 7 bedrooms. On the ground floor was a master suite with an alcove (window seat) overlooking the lake—a stunning view.The description of the house as a „Camp“ is correct—rustic, homey, and featuring a great fireplace, which we enjoyed and was absolutely necessary at temperatures that sometimes plummeted to -16 C. It was good that the camp had a mudroom at the backdoor where we could change out of our snow boots. The kitchen was spacious, and afforded ample space for cooking and eating. However, some of the kitchen supplies were outdated or insufficient for the size of our family. Even though the house was clean, the kitchen garbage had not been removed prior to our arrival (somebody had forgotten it, which can happen...)There was plenty of hot water and lots of clean white towels, which was great. However, considering the frigid conditions of Lake Placid during the winter, I think the bedrooms need warmer comforters and/or wool blankets.Altogether, we had a wonderful vacation at Camp SunnyCove—the gorgeous lakefront view, boathouse, privacy and great cozy space made this a perfect place to have our family vacation. We would love to return in the summer!

Very nice property right on Lake Placid. Lots of room in the house for our party of seven, everything squared away and ready for us on arrival. Easy process, solid communication with the property manager. We left the property cleaned, beds stripped, and towels gathered.
