This beach house was everything we were looking for and nothing we were not. Having rented an average of two homes per year for family reunions, I’ve seen them vary widely in their approach. Things that are annoying: lack of TP, dish and laundry soap as well as pages of warnings and directions.
This home has none of those drawbacks: nice touches like shampoo and conditioner, family games and books, throws to cozy up with on the deck. The vibe was not like staying in a strangers home but rather like staying in your own dream home.
Superior decor, comfort and high end finishes. Well stocked kitchen utensils for casual or fancy cooking. Parking was ample and as described. Although we had no kids with us this time, it is welcoming to families and my young grands would love it. My two oldest sisters shared the primary bedroom on the main level so after a few steps up they never had to use the stairs again.
Beautiful, spacious, clean and so lovely to be right on the water even though it was rainy. Hope to visit again.

Family and a couple close friends joined us for the weekend. The house is lovely with stunning views. As it was April, we weren't able to enjoy the beach, but would love to come back in the summer. The gourmet kitchen inspired us to stay in and cook one night. We were there to see our daughter perform at the Goodspeed Theatre (30 min away), and the drive to East Haddam was very pretty.

We had a magical stay! This luxurious home had breathtaking water views and catered to our every need. The tranquil sounds of the waves and mesmerizing sunrises over the ocean were unforgettable. It was wonderful to spend Christmas here! We loved taking family photos on the stunning beach and unanimously agreed this was one of our best holiday experiences. We are already dreaming of returning to this idyllic beachfront haven. Thank you for an unforgettable Christmas getaway!

Although many rentals may sleep 10, this rental has a beautiful large dining table that seats 10. We were all able to share a meal together and prepare food in the beautiful kitchen or relax in the large living room area that all connected so that nobody was missing out on each other’s company or conversation. The view of the Long Island sound was also wonderful and the accommodations we’re very nice.

Tara and Derek's home on the water is absolutely amazing. The pictures posted don't do it justice. I was here with eight of my girlfriends enjoying a long weekend and it was perfect and super clean. The bedrooms and bathrooms were all roomy enough to fit all of us with room to spare! The kitchen, dining, and living areas were so open to fit nine of us comfortably without ever feeling crowded. The view from that area is absolutely gorgeous. You feel like you're on the water without even being outside. We were lucky enough to have decent weather so we were outside and even though most of the porch furniture was put away, we had enough to enjoy listening to the waves. All in all we would totally go back!

Wonderful house for our out of state family to celebrate my Mother in Law’s 90th birthday. Great kitchen and entertainment space for cooking and gathering. Missed using the outdoor space due to rain but the view made up for it.

The Obstreperous Octopus was an exceptional home to spend our week in Clinton. We had perfect weather, and it made our stay at the beach house so pleasant. The home had everything we could ever imagine to make our stay excellent. The rooms are so spacious, the view is amazing, the amenities were all there to make every day a day of fun and relaxation. I would recommend this as a place to stay, the longer, the better!! We went for walks every day and it is such a lovely neighborhood! All
of my family agreed this was a great week and staying here made it a 10 out of 10!!

What you see is what you get! We had high expectations for our stay and they were completely met. Very family friendly property so that we all had our own space, but could also enjoy the communal spaces. The view was gorgeous!!

Better than I even imagined. Beautiful home. Magnificent views from the decks. Wonderful strolls along the beach. Great neighborhood for daily walks. Indoor and outdoor games supplied. Unbelievably fully stocked kitchen with gadgets, utensils and more. Near great restaurants and multiple grocery stores. Clinton crossing a few miles away for shopping. Agent is wonderful.

12 Sols Point Road in Clinton was the perfect place to kick off our daughter's wedding weekend! The house is spacious for 7 adults and our 2 year old grandson, impeccably clean, well-stocked for entertaining and the views are amazing!! The owner was accommodating and accessible. I highly recommend for anyone visiting the Connecticut shoreline. Thanks to Tara for everything!

The space was better than imagined and the views of the sound were more incredible than what you see in the pictures. Very clean, spacious kitchen and fully stocked to cook like you're at home, comfortable beds, and lots of space for the entire family to spread out and enjoy. This was probably one of the best VRBO locations I've ever stayed at. I highly recommend this property, and will definitely be staying here again when i'm back in town.

The house was incredibly well done- furnishings, fixtures, amenities, etc. The view was amazing- two sets of sliding glass doors with completely unobstructed views of the water. The house was extremely clean and well maintained. We felt right at home and had a wonderful few days. Close to the Clinton Premium Outlets and some good restaurants- we followed our host’s recommendations and everything was delicious. We’ll definitely be back!

Our stay at this amazing property exceeded expectations. Beautiful, well-appointed home with lovely decor and outstanding view. The location was easy to get to, yet felt private and remote. Owner was extremely helpful and responsive to questions. My husband and I wished we could have stayed longer and hope to return.

This rental is a 10/10! The house is beautiful and comes so well appointed both indoors with lots of cooking and serving supplies and also outdoors with a closet full of beach chairs, umbrellas and toys. We had small children and you just can’t beat the easy beach access! The kids loved being able to walk out so far on the soft sand at low tide. The beach was a little rocky/shell covered but the house provides two industrial rakes to groom soft sand.
The beds and pillows were all good quality and the extra den downstairs gave ample space for two families or extra space for kids to play. And there are so many outdoor seating options. Even just morning coffee on the balcony was such a treat.
The owners were also exceptional in answering my questions promptly in advance of the week and you can tell they take great care of their property and are invested in providing a lovely stay for guests. We are hoping to rent again!!

This home is made for R&R--super comfortable beds with high-end bedding and cozy spaces both in and out to curl up with a book, listen to the lapping water, take a nap, or simply enjoy family. The kitchen is very well supplied with top-notch appliances. And the decorating is super fun and interesting. I opened my eyes every morning to amazing sunrises over the water--early, yes, but well worth it! (You can draw a darkening shade if early mornings aren't your thing!)
The area is adorable and typical of small town northern East Coast. I recommend a lobster roll tour of the area! We were there for Yale graduation and it is an easy, beautiful drive to New Haven.
Communication with Tara was easy and she went out of her way to fix a wifi issue while we were there. She really cared that we had everything we needed and then some. We highly recommend the Obstreperous Octopus! Wish I were still there...

The place is just as advertised! We spent a long weekend with a bunch of family, including 6 adults and 4 children. The house had plenty of space and was stocked with everything we could ask for to have fun and cook great meals.
It was amazing waking up to the sunrise over the water in the backyard, where you can just open the door and be on the beach. We definitely hope to stay here again in the future.

This is a beautiful house right on the water. The views are amazing. The house is beautifully decorated, beds are very comfortable, the kitchen appliances look like new and is well equipped....everything is pristine!
