This was our third time visiting and we loved every second of it!

We loved this property. The house is huge and has tons of space for kids to play. Everything is well-stocked, from the kitchen to the games/puzzle closets. We also loved having the outdoor spaces, including the firepit, ravine trail, and hot tub. Dave was an extremely responsive and thoughtful host. We would happily stay here again!

Our group of ten had a fantastic time celebrating Christmas together with plenty of space for everyone and lots of activities to keep three generations happy through the holidays.

Our group of 19 (including 10 kids, ages 4-10) had a great time here! The house had plenty of room for us all to spread out. The kids LOVED the playrooms and slides. The kitchen was well organized and had everything we needed to prepare lots of meals for our big group. We're looking forward to going back again next year!

Dave’s property is amazing. We had six adults and five kids between five and eight years staying at the home. The kids were off very happily playing somewhere inside or outside the house for 95% of the day!! The house is beautifully done, all the amenities you could want to find are included and the rest of the property is fantastic. The contact with Dave and his wife was easy and lovely. We can’t recommend this place enough - our kids have decided they want to come back to the ‘slide house’ every year as do us adults!

We have grandchildren ranging in age from 3-14. And a couple on the autism spectrum who don’t enjoy crowds. This place was perfect. Plenty of room for those of us that needed space and so many activities to keep the little ones occupied. The view, peace and quiet made it easy to unplug from work demands and instead of coming home from a Disney trip over stimulated and grouchy, we are rested and so thankful for our family! The house was absolutely stunning. Great location in the middle of nowhere with great views. Great bedrooms. The spacious kitchen was fully stocked and great to cook in for the 18 guests. For the toddlers there was a lot of entertainment with slides and the bikes in the garage. The teens were very excited about the jacuzzi. Everyone was sad to leave after the few nights we stayed and wanted to stay longer. Would absolutely come back in the future.

The house and property are outstanding. Multiple living and eating areas and things to do. Our group of about 18 with ages 2 months to 68 thoroughly enjoyed the house. We've rented many places over the years for our group and this house was by far the most well stocked, communications with the owner were great and all the options for various age groups to gather and play were beyond expectations.

The setting is idyllic. The home has such fun secret hideouts and a play space for kids. Really functional kitchen and good seating areas. Owners were always really helpful!

We LOVED our stay here! Our group ranged in age from granparents to infants and there was something for everyone! The indoor play spaces were amazing, but the amazing acreage and outdoor recreation was also a very pleasant surprise. We all agreed that the photos didn't even do this house justice. Thanks for a great stay!! We'll be back for sure!

This is our second stay in this house. It was back by popular demand from our grandkids. It really is a fun place with all the tunnels, giant lego and block room, and super garage play room. Never a dull moment or lack of things to do. We also enjoyed the hike to the labyrinth and the solitude of the location. The hosts have provided everything you will need. Grab the kids/grandkids and head on over!

The listing on VRBO is accurate, but does not capture this true amazing property. Zen. That is the one word to describe this property. It is the best VRBO for entertaining family and friends. So much room and many activities. We especially loved the meditation garden. We loved the hot tub and all of the activities and rooms. The rain was no problem. The secret passages and slides are amazing. 2 refrigerators and 2 sets of washer/dryers, 4 bathrooms and 8 bedrooms. It was perfect for our family. Hopefully we can visit again next year. We felt complete welcomed. We would highly recommend this property for your next family vacation.

This is the second year our friend group and kiddos have stayed here. What a great find. The amazing view and property are only surpassed by the creative design of the house. Kids of all ages can stay busy playing while the adults do the relaxing.

Beautiful home that is perfect for large and extended families with children of all ages. With 7 kids ages 6 and under and 8 adults there was even room for more. With a large finished heated garage, toys and games galore there was exercise and fun for the kids regardless of the weather. The indoor tunnels and slides throughout the house were endlessly exciting for the kids. With the outdoor hot tub, trails, indoor foosball, ping pong, and pickleball the adults were just as excited. Would definetly go again.

We booked this amazing property for our annual holiday family gathering, and it was absolutely perfect! The house was a kid’s paradise, with tunnels and slides and secret passages. Plus, a foam block room, Lego room, garage with endless possibilities for games and riding toys, the amenities are just too many to list! The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed, and Dave and Patti were the best hosts. There were 14 of us, toddlers to teens, parents and grandparents, and we all totally enjoyed our experience. And to top it all off, we had snow! We definitely recommend, and can’t wait to return!

Slides, soft foam blocks, pickle ball, lovely nature trail - what is not to love!!? We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are already planning a return trip!!

Oh my goodness, everything about this property is amazing! Our group of 13 adults (all family) enjoyed everything, even the blocks room and the slides. We enjoyed the walk to the labyrinth, we played tons of pickle ball, we had a Thanksgiving feast that was easily prepared in the spacious kitchen. The owners even had someone drop off a roasting pan for us Thanksgiving morning, how thoughtful is that?! The home is impeccably clean and comfortable, the furnishings and decor are nice, there is ample room to spread out, play games, and visit, and we truly did not want for anything. We've stayed in dozens of short term vacation rentals over the years and Blue Mountain Retreat just may be our favorite. Thank you, Patti and Dave!

The house is so good and have lot of stuff that make the kids excited. House is well maintained and very clean. we really love the stay and will prefer to stay again and again.

This home is a fantastic location for families of all ages. There are activities for all ages, and our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. There are also beaches nearby, and we enjoyed time in Olympic National Park, as well as Port Townsand. The house and yard is well maintained, and we enjoyed even the small touches such as the closet full of games and marshmallow roasting sticks.

Our family now with 4 grown sons plus spouses plus 7 grandkids is always challenged by finding the right vacation spot. This summer was extra special, with my wife and I celebrating our 50th anniversary. And this was as good a spot as any we’ve found. As the many positive reviews note, the play areas in this half-playhouse, half-comfortable expansive regular house, was as good as it could have possibly been. Dave and Patti were terrific hosts. It helped that they live next door. The well-stocked kitchen has many, many drawers, cabinets etc., and when we couldn’t find something, they quickly texted where the desired item was located. When the two corkscrews broke—pretty cheap ones—they offered to Venmo us the cash to buy one, since they had left for a bike excursion. Again, immediately responsive. One of my sons and I are serious cyclists and they provided us with tips on good routes. The only complaint we had was the AC was not adequate to deal with the unusually hot spell during our stay. But it was unusually hot in that location. 10 miles away it was 15 degrees cooler! The walking paths on the property were delightful, reflecting how much work the owners invested in it, the house where they raised their kids. Sons loved the large mowed lawns for their ritualistic whiffleball games. 5-stars for property and owners.

This property was the best! We brought our 3 adult children and their young families together for a most memorable experience. Eight adults and 7 kids from 1 year to 8 years. The many secret passages and slides between dedicated playroom delighted the children and kept them happily engaged for hours. The adult big kids had fun too! Beds were comfortable and the home well appointed. Be sure to hike to the labyrinth and meditation garden 😊.

Our family (of approx. 20) has had a reunion every year near a National Park for over 20 years. This vacation "home" was absolutely the BEST property we have ever rented. The property was very clean, had a well-equipped kitchen, and was spacious and comfortable for large gatherings - inside and out! This property is a kid's paradise with specifically designed areas for children. It was lovely to meet the owners, they were welcoming, helpful, and made us feel like family. The property was so amazing that a family would truly never need to leave the property to have a wonderful adventure.

The hosts thoughtfully supplied everything needed for a large gathering and in ample amounts. We appreciated the cleanliness and an atmosphere that showed that this property was a rental property but also a well loved home. This is our fourth family reunion and the best. Providing the tunnels and garage toys for the children highlights the hosts values for families. Children’s influence in a family is much greater than their size.

This stay more than met our expectations. The kids had so much fun playing in the secret passageways, riding bikes, building with blocks and Duplos, and exploring outside. There was enough room for everyone to spread out, and the kitchen had everything we could have wanted. This place is very out of the way, but it was the perfect spot for a few days of relaxation.

Our group of 7 adults and 8 kids (age 2-17) had a BLAST here for a long weekend! There is so much to do: zip line, trails, slides, toys, blocks, games, swing, hot tub… we could have stayed a whole week and never left the property. The labyrinth was also a favorite, even for the kids. It is almost other-worldly, tucked in a beautiful quiet beech grove in the ravine below the house. Already planning our trip back!

We had 8 adults, 4 children (3-6 years old), and one infant on our trip. There was entertainment for all of is. We had brought our own games and never needed to pull them out. The weather was on and off rainy but no one was ever bored being inside. It was a treat to hear the kids say, “this is the coolest house ever!”

This house was the perfect getaway for multiple families to all come together for a weekend! It was also a kids’ paradise with all the toys, slides, hidden tunnels, Lego room, block room and open garage for pickle ball tournaments! We will absolutely be coming back to make this an annual tradition! Highly recommend for families with kids ages 3-10!! It also had a very peaceful walk down by a stream to a labyrinth walk. Loved this property!!
