My husband, our grandson and I enjoyed this great beach side home with direct beach access!! Our host, Tammy, provided a clean, well stocked home, prompt communications and well documented guest information/directions. The large porch, beautiful ocean view and hot tub was certainly a highlight of our stay!!!

This is a quiet location outside of Galveston. It's exactly what we were looking for. Everything was as described. The property was clean and well maintained. The property owner responded quickly when I had questions.

Master bed comfortable, master bath amazing, some glassware for cooking, enough utensils to get by, 1 thing of paper towel, plenty of laundry pods, on the beach is a must for us so this was exactly what we wanted and away from all the town noise and hot tub was a must, chairs and beach toys a plus, a boogie board, away from the city with amazing views, sunrise, and ocean noise. Close enough to all the fun touristy stuff that we didn’t do much of. Walmart on the island for anything you might need. Some things that could have been better: No wash cloths- for like washing your face, No scissors (you don’t realize how much you need them until you don’t have them), No beach towels- not a big deal but a few would be nice for flyers, No crockpot- again out be nice for a roast or soup- less cooking more R&R, No coffee maker-keurig- just a personal preference, floor creaks so theres no sneaking around- got up to workout every sunrise before the rest of the house, rattle snake on path to the beach-yikes! We watched them for an hour one afternoon from the deck. Be prepared for wind. Its very windy here!

We loved the huge porch, the beach access and the hot tub! The house was plenty big for us, comfortable, and beautiful. We could see dolphins jumping in the gulf from out porch!

Love this house and location!

The house was exactly what we needed. Tammy is a very responsive and wonderful host. The bedrooms were the perfect size and you can’t beat sunrises on the deck. The location is exactly what we wanted out of the downtown chaos and Gulf front. If we ever return to Galveston we will definitely stay here again.

This was a great property away from the crowds. We enjoyed the deck and hot tub. Look forward to visiting again!

Family trip south for some warmer weather. Place was very clean and nice. Only downside was the security camera aiming towards the hot tub.

We have enjoyed this property twice now. You can't beat the location! The hot tub and the covered portion of the deck are particularly nice.

This was truly a relaxing private beach getaway. We loved the nice large deck for morning coffee and evening night cap while star gazing! We planned for breakfast and lunch at the house, and although the home is equipped for cooking all meals in, we chose to have all dinner meals out at a different restaurant in the area which meant we drove into Galveston quite a bit. This was a fun experience for us!

This is as our second time at this property. We hope to come back again. The large deck overlooks the beach and is endlessly interesting. We love to watch the long line of pelicans sail over the house. The beach is not crowded at all. The house itself is comfortable and not fussy (just the way we like it.). So glad we found this property.

Overall we couldn't be happier with our stay. Perfect house for the trip with great location. A few things could be better. But these are preferences of ours and may not apply to all. Master bed is extremely soft. New large pan in the kitchen would be great. Last thing is the hot tub. I can only imagine how hard it is to keep this from being damaged from all the renters. But it is useless in the hot months when it can't be set any lower than 102. We tried and lasted 5 minutes. Too hot. But would be amazing in the cooler months. Thanks Again!!

We loved this house so much, it’s perfect for families! Everything was just how it’s posted! The best parts were being right on the beach, the outdoor shower and just the peacefulness of sitting on the deck over looking the ocean and hearing the waves! Great communication with the host! We will definitely be back!

This is a great location, beautiful home right on the beach, with a superb host! We brought my parents down to Galveston for the first time and they loved it. The house is a nice beachfront space and very comfortable. The hot tub overlooking the beach is a great way to wind down and a nice cherry on top to an already nice beachfront home. Tammy is SUPER prompt in responding prior, during, and after our stay. If there is any issue, big or small, Tammy is on it and makes it right. The communication throughout booking, checking in, and checking out was excellent. If you’re looking for a great beachfront rental away from heavy traffic with a responsive host, this is your spot!

This was our second stay at Poppy’s Place and it was like returning home. A beautiful view of the ocean and a short walk to the beach made for another lovely visit. The house was clean and well appointed making for a welcoming stay. We hope to return again.

We had a nice time at Poppy’s Place. It’s a nice family beach home with excellent views of the water. Pros: Access to the beach is amazing. And it’s a great location to sit on the deck and watch the waves. The house was well laid out for two families with children. The kids enjoyed hopping into the hot tub when it was cold one day, which was a nice touch. There were plenty of puzzles and games and the TVs were great to watch March Madness. The master suite is nice with a beautiful claw foot iron tub. Cons: The wood floors in the house are warped so it was very loud anytime someone walked around. The kitchen was adequately stocked - but it could use a refresh and a quick inventory of item. We’re regular beach renters and this kitchen was slightly lacking with older, heavily used items that should eventually be replaced. We had to go into town to grab some items that were missing. The second bathroom is very small for the 4+ people it accommodated (but it was completely functional). And heads up - The master shower door doesn’t close correctly and significantly leaks on the floor (no matter what you try to prevent it). We didn’t have any warning and there was a ton of water on the floor that we had to mop up! Overall, we had a really nice stay! It’s a great beach house on the water that is perfect for families.

Great place to stay, wonderful location! Had minor problems with AC, property owner fixed right away on a Saturday evening. Property had superficial updating needed. Wood floor was heaving, shower door leaked, mold on the ice dispenser and clothes from prior renters in drawers I texted the owner, she seemed very appreciative to be aware and seemed genuinely eager to have these issues resolved. Hopefully she will have it completed for my next stay. Will definitely stay again!

We stayed 3 different places in this area and it's just a great place. Enjoy the walks on the beach. The house is nice, shower could use a neck over head to stop from spraying you when you turn on but great water pressure. Get in hot tub and relax while listening to the waves

The house is nice, simple and clean, it’s steps from the beach, and the hot tub is an excellent addition when it’s cooler outside. Other than an appliance issue, we had a wonderful stay. When notified of our issue Tammy was responsive and repair people were there within 24 hrs. I’d stay again given the opportunity.

This is a great house with a beautiful view of the ocean. The hot tub is worth the extra cost. We really enjoyed our stay and could not have picked a better house..

Our stay got off to an interesting start with frozen water pipes, fortunately Tammy responded to my text immediately and a plumber came out the next day and got the water going again. She was good enough to refund us for that night. As a former condo owner I know how hard it is to make everything perfect in an imperfect world. But the rest of our stay was great. The house is super nice, hot tub very relaxing and the views were beautiful. It is several miles from town which was good for us since we had everything we needed. I would definitely stay here again. Poppy’s Place was a great little house on the beach for my family of 8 to stay for the Thanksgiving holiday week. The view is amazing. The hot tub was really nice as well, though we only had the ability to use it once due to the weather. Poppy’s Place is about a 30 minute drive from everything we enjoy doing in Galveston, which made for great views of the ocean even during our drives down the Seawall toward Moody Gardens, downtown, mini golf, the pier, and the Strand. There’s plenty of extra pillows and extra pillowcases, but I’d recommend bringing extra sheets for the beds as there are no extra sheets outside of what’s on the beds. A couple of the outlets didn’t work which was not a problem for us, as there were plenty of outlets to choose from in the bedrooms for charging our phones. The beautiful wood floor is very squeaky, so if you are a light sleeper and have other people staying at with you that get up sooner than you bring earplugs to sleep with. We were pleasantly surprised there was a blender for our daily smoothies! My family members that drank coffee brought their own keurig pods to be able to enjoy their daily coffee. We thought there could have been more toiletries provided, however we thankfully went prepared. The washer and dryer worked great and there was a little bit of laundry detergent provided, we found needed to wash the bath towels and minimal wash cloths provided while we were there so we didn’t run out of clean towels. There’s no beach towels provided, so if you wanting to enjoy the beach bring your own. The kids enjoyed the board games and sand toys provided. Overall we really enjoyed our stay, thank you!!!
