It's not often you see pictures of a home that look absolutely wonderful and then you discover, when you arrive, that the place is way, way more impressive in reality than even in those pictures. But Casa de Las Torres is an example of one such home. It's impossible to describe the features and features of amenities of this historical house in one word, but magnificent comes close. It is large, comfortable and delightful to spend time in. We spent three weeks enjoying the house, the pool and of course Merida. Casa de Las Torres is well located close to the historic district of this sophisticated, exciting city. Gregory is a wonderful host, instantly taking care of any problems (there were very few of them). I would wholeheartedly recommend this casa for anybody visiting Merida, and can't wait to go back again next year.

In the late fall of 2022, I had an opportunity to visit the home but for only a few hours. I left feeling inspired and awestruck by the beauty of the home and wanted to plan my return. I returned recently and was able to spend a week with my wife and a friend there. The home is so very unique and beautiful. The owner was easy to connect with through the app and we had no issues at all both planning or during our stay. Would HIGHLY recommend this property!

I Can't say enough about the property. It is absolutely beautiful & extremely comfortable. I took notice also of how spotless & well-kept the property was when we got there. Simply outstanding.

As others have said, this home is nothing short of amazing! The host is very helpful and close by in case you need anything. The house is something to behold. From the cute but unassuming outside, you step through the doorway into another time! This colonial era masterpiece is gorgeous! Greg did such a fantastic job on creating a space that is both modern in it's amenities but completely immerses you in a time gone by. There is so much thought put into the details. The private pool with a palapa at the back of the house was really nice and relaxing. Fantastic overall!

Such a beautiful home. Felt like I was staying at a museum. Had everything we needed...hair dryer, dishes, towels, washer, dryer etc.

Amazing and very special property

Greg's property is stunning, if a bit eccentric. Hidden behind an unassuming facade on a slightly shabby block is a gorgeous, private, quiet oasis. It is everything the photos on the site show it to be. Greg met us at the property when we checked in and let us know he was next door if we needed anything. The courtyard and backyard with the pool and palapa were lovely, the beds were comfortable and the house was nicely appointed. The open to the sky shower in the master bedroom was my absolute favorite, as you can shower amongst the plants and vines. The property is about six blocks from the Plaza Grande and somewhat further to the touristy Parque Santa Lucia, and it can be a very hot walk in the daytime, but Ubers are very inexpensive in Merida. Our only regret is not having a longer stay with this gorgeous house as a home base.

Arriving at our destination, the dusty streetscape of Merida outside did not hint at the grandeur and fabulous inventiveness of Casa de las Torres inside. From the magnificent entry hall to the fanciful rooftop, the spaces speak of a time past but with contemporary amenities. Clearly much thought and inspiration have gone into creating this relaxing refuge. The reconstruction employed local artisans whose skills were passed down in families. Our extended family group of four gathered morning and night in the main high-ceilinged rooms, including the kitchen, dining room and sitting area. Doors opened to the pool, with lush greenery visible from the pool area on one side and the central courtyard on the other. And that pool and cabana were a welcome place to cool off and nap following a full day in Merida or its environs of Mayan ruins and cenotes for swimming. We never needed the air conditioners. Coffee in the morning and libations at night were enjoyed on the rooftop, accessed by the spiral staircase. The sounds of tropical birds only added to the general magic of the place. Greg was an attentive but not intrusive host. We would definitely return to Casa de las Torres if our travels bring us back to the Yucatan.

Greg and his assistant Carlos were great hosts that were available for all of our needs. The rental is truly the most unique I've stayed. The photos are true to the ambiance and character of the place but there really is so much more. The space is large both inside and out. The pool is very private. There are numerous nooks on the top deck for intimate conversations or sharing a glass of wine. I highly recommend this rental.

Best property I have ever stayed at.

My husband and I and our two friends--another couple--met for a week's vacation at this stunning property in Merida. The house is furnished with antiques in Spanish colonial style--it's like a museum but with all the comforts of home. Communication with Greg--the host--was terrific. Not only he did meet us personally when we arrived in Merida in the evening, but stayed in touch throughout our stay, recommended places to eat, answered our many questions, and did some troubleshooting with an air conditioner. The beds were comfortable, we had lovely showers, and the pool was amazing, especially after running around visiting Mayan ruins in the heat. The roof terrace was fun in the evening (although the spiral staircase to get there was a little treacherous). The house is located not far from the airport, which is convenient, but is about a 20-minute walk from the main plaza, shops, and restaurants (and bank machines). It gets pretty hot out, so sometimes we took Ubers to get around, which are very affordable in Mexico. The petite women in our party had some trouble with the height of mirrors in the bathrooms, reaching hangers in a closet, and flushing the toilet in the master bedroom--all of which were clearly installed by tall men! But these are quibbles, as there is a fantastic and huge kitchen, quiet office (where we found the best internet signal), lush courtyard, and beautiful plantings. It was serene and restorative--the perfect vacation spot.

A Dream in Paradise
This place is absolutely stunning and was far beyond the crown jewel of our trip to Merida. The space is insurmountable and overall is an absolute fantasy from the first steps you take inside. The attention to detail is very apparent and the ambiance and atmosphere is both striking and serene. Feel very privileged that we got to stay here and still are getting lost in day dreams of this place even now that we are back home. Do yourself a favor and spend some time in this place and let it take you away. Worth every penny and definitely hope to return one day if we ever make it back to Merida. Thanks very much to Craig for creating such an incredible place.

Modern convenience in a historic setting.
This property far exceeded our expectations. Centrally located it is with easy walking distance to Plaza Grande. The cool dark period setting is expertly decorated in period furniture. The back of the house is where the massive kitchen and sitting area is modern yet reflective of the period. Neatly tucked behind large wooden doors is all of the modern appliances and technology. The pool is a wonderful and welcome addition to the backyard, beside it is a large palapa with comfortable chairs, ceiling fan and large screen tv.
Carlos and Greg were truly attentive hosts. Marcos kept us well fed with fresh fruit and eggs. We felt like kings and queens!

Time travel is possible in Merida
Walk trough the doors of this place and enjoy a little time travel. An oasis in the back that provides a place to relax as is if you were at the beach. A courtyard that is enchanting and a roof top that is the perfect to enjoy a breeze and enjoy some conversation with friends
It’s a short walk to the Centro and the market. We walked to town everyday and explored a new area every time. And took an Uber home. They are not expensive. And very realiable.
But back to the the casa, The Merida adventure starts here. If you are not looking for the ordinary and want to get wrapped up something new , this is it. Sink into a comfy bed at the end of the day , and enjoy a good breakfast to start the day. We met some great guests while we stayed here. Which just enhances our experience.
