The location and beauty of the building. Not your normal modern day so called “4/5 star”sterile box hotel. Unique and boutique.

Beautiful room
We went to breakfast and asked for eggs and coffee and tea and toast and were told that we could not stay in the restaurant and eat as it was only tor buffet. After complaining about this at the restaurant and at the front desk, we were told nothing could be done about it. So we brought the breakfast to our room and the eggs and toast were not even warm by then. The woman at the front desk said we still would be charged the 10 euros for the breakfast. Bad form!

Localocation, and the extremely helpful and professional personal
Beds were a little too hard. The only option for a breakfast was at 10 am...too late. Why have an allotted time for a breakfast?

Location; beautiful building
There was an appalling smell (sewage? decay?) in the corridors to our room and in our room. We asked to be moved. We were given a room spray. The smell continued.
Many of the staff were at best surly, at worst rude. One lovely waitress at dinner was told off for talking to us. It was like travelling in Eastern Europe before the end of communism

Our room and courtyard were excellent
Breakfast was uninspiring. The hallway to our room smelled of mildew. The interior entrance sitting area was freezing

The Parador is an exceptional historical building that is very well converted into a hotel. We arrived in town at 3pm, on a Sunday, and were worried about getting lunch. No problem: great lunch in the restauurant, which did not close until 4pm.
Unfortunately, the advertised opening of the restaurant at 8pm for dinner did not occur (nor at 9, nor at 10). No explanation, no warning from the staff, even though we had enquired about dinner. The breakfast is OK (definitely no more than that; I cannot agree with more positive reviews). A reasonable buffet, with the possiblitly to order a hot dish. The omelette was freshly made, and good. The scrambled eggs were rubbery and the bacon was greasy and flabby. Not worth €19 per person. Not even close. This was almost as bad as an English hotel breakfast.

Breakfast and regional specialty dishes were very good, as was the enthusiasm of the waiters and staff. The location was excellent in relation to the sights of the town, but hard to get to on our first night through narrow streets. The building is a work of art in itself.
We didn't get the instructions telling us to avoid using the car's satnav on first arriving. Not the Parador's fault: they did send it. But we did have hair-raising journey up narrow alleys to get there, and we were not clear about parking arrangements.

Excellent dinner, although the menu is a little confusing, all mixed up.
The breakfast was a bit disappointing,as opposed to previous stays at parador hotels.
Breakfast could have been better.
The toaster is so slow and after 3 times in it my bread was eventually brown.

Fantastic location. Great staff, very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was ok but we’re jaded after visiting Asia where their breakfasts are ‘out of this world’. Ubeda is a small city, very walkable. One or two nights was enough to see all the sights. If you want to learn about their monuments and significant spots in any language but Spanish, though, you’ll need to get a guide (which is easy to do).

amazing building location for exploring the town was amazing. lovely room very comfortable
no parking very near so have to drag bags a distance. this is because the town is very old with extremely narrow streets so most parking on the edge. evening meal was ok but no atmosphere

The beauty of the property and its setting. The fact it was historic. The informality of it.
No tea and coffee facilities in the room, but i understand why. It wasnt a showstopper.

The reception staff were excellent, the waiting staff were very good
The food was not very good, and not good value. The breakfast was quite extensive but not very good quality and could easily have been improved, for instance the fruit was left as very large pices and had to be cut up again, there were only a few yoghurts available.
The rooms seemed a bit tired and in need of some attention.
