One of the most beautiful hotels in our experience. Elegant african style. Room design (bathroom especially) is brilliant, we enjoyed it so much! Restaurant is great also.

the size of the room, the fact that there was dust below the bed, mattress was hard resulting in waking up with body aches

Staff very friendly
There was a funny smell which happened around midnight, that happened on both days. We would sleep not smelling anything but around midnight 😔... funny thing the rooms were sparkling clean and neat.

The hotel is positioned in a great place. It's walking distance from the Knysna waterfront and local restaurants as well as the mosque for Muslim worshippers.
Rooms were tidy and well kept.
The hotel does not have back up power during load shedding. This includes no Wi-Fi. A single battery light is provided in the room.

the bathroom had a sewage smelling issue, which had a slight stench in the bedroom. restaurant was also closed

The front picture shows the “old Rex hotel” not the. re one - small rooms. No facilities during loadshedding
No place for dinner. No coffee available during loadshedding.
ONE light bulb the only light in room during loadshedding.
the 4 star rating is a joke! Dont waste your money here!!!
unfriendly staff - did not feel safe in rooms!
The hotel allowed a mass group of people (not sure if anyone was actually staying in hotel) to use the pool area during loadshedding
2 x large cooler boxes of alcohol and 3 x cases of Corona
beer!
the party and noise was next level!
we left the hotel and booked into Pezula Hotel and Spa and we were in bliss!
we have stayed in the old Rex hotel before and will NEVER stay here again!
Terrible! Absolute rip off!!
