Being upgraded on our third room change.
Breakfast: Full buffet. Good variety of items. Well presented and food items topped up before they ran out.
View from Balcony. City and Harbour view. Good view of fireworks on Territory Night.

We moved room twice after we checked in. First room: Had to wait for Queen bed to be changed to two single (as booked) and upon entering room found it did not have the balcony advertised. Staff at desk said we had not booked balcony room or paid for breakfast. Booking sheet produced. No apologies. Got breakfast. Second room: the shower floor was dangerously slippery and water did not drain out fully, the whole toilet tipped over when sat on (not fastened to the floor) and the tv was not tuned in to standard channels. Reported this immediately and for next 2 days and finally demanded a maintenance man to inspect. He told us we could not stay in the room for health and safety reasons. We were moved immediately to an upgraded suite in the evening of the 3rd day. We still had to place towels in the shower area to avoid the slippery floor.

The front door key didn’t work. We had to wait around. I was double charged and I needed to provide my bank details to get a credit. The fridge was wobbly and had to be stabilised

Pool was unavailable for 3-5 months but was clearly advertised as available. Room was never serviced in over a 4 day period.

At reception a young man couldn't understand why I didn't want to join the Mantra "club" - persistent to the point of annoying. Reception charged $100 security deposit which took over 2 weeks to be refunded - they then chose to "blame the bank" and told me to sort it out - very poor public relations and process. At booking pool was advertised as being back in service but AFTER registration we were informed it was still out of action - deceptive! We booked AND PAID FOR a harbour view but got a city view with a harbour glimpse. Again deceptive

Security, privacy, homely feel apartment-style rooms and living, all amenities catered for and the staff are always amazing: very kind, helpful, easy communication n safe (security are great). Love the location and love staying here

Pool closed for months, and was not advised of this when booking. Room had piles of dust behind chairs and on top of skirtings. Mould in bathroom. Cleaning is very superficial.

this was our second stay in the facility this week, we were guests earlier on in the week situated on the 15th floor and the room and location was very good.
on our second visit, level 7 initially our room air conditioning was not working, but we reported it to staff and they moved us to another room level 5, it was just a short stay this time and enjoyable.
it would have been better if the aircon had been working on arrival and we didn't have the need to change rooms.

The location was average.
I regret to inform prospective guests that our recent stay at this hotel fell significantly short of our expectations. Upon arrival, we were assigned a room that was not up to the standard of cleanliness one would expect. The carpets and drapes were heavily stained, and the appliances showed signs of notable wear and tear. Unfortunately, the lack of cleanliness even extended to the bed linens.
After requesting a room change, the second room, while a slight improvement, still did not meet our expectations, especially considering the room rate. Despite changing the stained sheets, the overall condition of the room was quite average.
Adding to our dissatisfaction was the staff's attitude, which we found to be less than hospitable. It seemed our concerns were treated as inconveniences rather than legitimate issues to be addressed.
We were also informed just five days prior to our stay that the pool was under renovation. Given the short notice, this left us with little room for alternative plans without incurring significant extra cost. Upon enquiring about potential compensation or a partial refund for this inconvenience, we were told none would be offered. Our suggestion of waiving the $19 per night parking fee as a goodwill gesture was also rejected, despite there being ample parking available.
Our dissatisfaction extended to administrative matters as well. As this was a business trip, we requested an invoice under our company's name, but the hotel insisted that this was not possible. This contradicted our previous experiences with other hotels, including another Mantra property in Melbourne, where such a request had been accommodated without any issues.
Given the combination of substandard room conditions, poor customer service, and administrative inflexibility, we have made the decision not to patronize this property in the future. We believe it's important for potential guests to be aware of our experience.
