A delicious and varied breakfast with great espresso served by attentive (but not over the top) professionals accompanied by lovely live harp-playing...what more can you ask for?

The gym is small but the outdoor area works for early morning workouts

Breakfast and lunch were delicious, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the hotel generally was very comfortable, tasteful and clean.

La Mision Hotel Boutique is truly a magical place. Full disclosure: My wife and I stayed at the hotel just last month, and couldn't wait to make a quick return. The hotel is situated in the upscale Asuncion neighborhood of Recoleta... and literally a short stone's throw from the popular "Shopping Mariscal" indoor shopping district. The hotel is a throw-back to the early 1900s when elegance and class were the norm for city accommodations. The hotel is consistently rated as one of the top hotels in Asuncion, and after one stay at La Mision, it is easy to understand why. Upon our early morning return to the hotel, we were greeted here with open arms... like old friends. We were pleasantly surprised to open the door to a 3rd floor flat... complete with a fully-outfitted kitchenette and a cozy patio overlooking the skyline of Recoleta. The patio provided us with an early evening place to relax. The staff at La Mision is not only a team of consummate hospitality professionals, but a warm, caring group of human beings as well. Dona Maria Jose, the owner of La Mision, has done a great job of selecting an outstanding group of employees to round out the La Mision team. Our hat's off to hotel's fantastic employees! Our favorite spot to hang-out and relax is the roof-top swimming pool and patio. The pool is perfectly designed to accommodate all types of guests... from those who wish to swim laps, or just lounge in the sun or enjoy a jacuzzi-like corner of the pool. There is also a roof-top bar to serve libations to guests. In addition to providing outstanding accommodations, La Mision offers a variety of facilities to accommodate events, parties and conferences. The made-to-order breakfasts in the principal dining room are superb. The mate cocido offered by the kitchen staff is not to be missed! Wilma and Raul made our morning breakfast experience memorable. Our 5 nights at La Mision passed quickly...

Although the WIFI at La Mision is strong and consistent, there are times I needed a dependable desktop computer to complete travel and immigration forms. There are computers on the 2nd and 4th floors that could use some tuning-up as I could not seem to get the working. Printing of boarding passes and immigration receipts can be printed by the front desk. Also, for those of us older folks, a bath mat or non-skid strips would be a nice touch in the tubs or showers.
