Stunning views from the private onsen attached to the room courtyard, you can hear the river at night and see the cherry blossoms and mountains from the tub. A separate bathing tub inside the unit allows you to open the door fully and experience the same sights and sounds. There is a room service to clean, make the beds, restock the fridge, tea, towels, and provide clean yakatas. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable, and I felt taken care of. The food service was undoubtedly a top highlight to my stay, aside from the serene environment.

Excellent service and great ryokan experience. Beautiful view of Mt Arashiyama and Katsuo River at doorstep, few minutes walk to Arabica Coffee.

The staff and service are exceptional. Our room with the private onsen was incredibly peaceful and we didn’t leave the room entire time we stayed. The dinner was a 9 course degustation menu that you would get at a high end restaurant. Overall fantastic experience

The experience was lovely from start to finish. The private bath with view was amazing. Dinner and breakfast were also delicious. We tried food which was new to us but I think it added to the experience. The staff were very kind and the grounds were beautiful. They also let us leave our bags after check in so we could explore the area. Highly recommend and thank you for the unique experience!

I booked the full course, with kaiseiki dinners and Japanese breakfast. The service is TOP notch! They pay attention to every detail. Once entering, we needed to take our shoes off. They wiped and sanitized our carry on. After they gave us the tour of the facilities, they guided us to our room (luggage already placed in our room). They always offer us tea and a small snack whenever we returned back from somewhere. They always confirm our meal time beforehand so we can plan our day without rudhing back for dinner or rush to wake up for breakfast. Not sure if it was a coincidence, but I told them during our night 1 kaiseiki meal that the eel served was my partner’s favorite, the second kaiseiki dinner contained a lot of eel! 🤯 I can’t go back to the states now to match these expectations!
