First time skiing in Japan (few times in other locations) so we didn't know what to expect. We found this family hotel where the staff is incredibly friendly! We had some basic ski gear but we needed skis, boots, helmets, etc and Ken (son of Captain) had everything needed for rent. It saved us a lot of time and hassle. On top of that, the dinners were succulent (Ryokan style), there is a common room where you can have a drink and kids can play games, and the location is right on the resort so that you jump on your skis 5 meters out of the hotel door!

Really wonderful hospitality. everything under one roof including excellent ski lessons. food was very high quality and the staff would support with anything you needed.

rooms are tired but not a big problem on an active ski holiday

Warm and friendly staff. It was also very convenient that we could rent our ski equipment from the hotel. The equipment was excellent quality and very reasonably priced. Special thanks to Ken in the shop for looking after us so well. The room was a bit on the small side for 4 adult men, but the onsen was a real treat.

Staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. You can rent ski equipment at the hotel and ski right onto the slopes - so convenient! The food was delicious (we had breakfast and dinner there) and the homemade umeshu made right there at the hotel was an unexpected treat! The view from the hotel is also beautiful, with the slopes at the front, woodland at the back.
