Very clean everything that you needed in the room

The room was small but very clean. Good food on the premises. Supermarket 100 yards away. 15 minute walk into town. The staff were very friendly. My bike could be locked in the yard. Excellent value for money.

The headroom over the bath is limited, but this is a small criticism at the price.

Really good full English breakfast at a reasonable price. Small clean room with comfortable bed with adjustable heating and plenty of hot water for the bath. Curry and Steak nights with beer were excellent as was the Bingo Night on Thursday night which was packed with friendly locals. Staff friendly and helpful and pub directly connected to Hotel so getting to/from pub easy, beer price reasonable with discounted beer on Mondays. Close to Sainsburys, Home Bargains and Shrewsbury Abbey

Our experience at the Old Bell was truly memorable. The hotel exudes charm, and Simon, our dedicated server, provided exceptional service throughout our visit. The rooms were beautifully decorated, clean, and comfortable, capturing the historic ambiance of the establishment. The convenient location allowed us to explore the picturesque town of Shrewsbury effortlessly. Simon's attentiveness and helpfulness were outstanding. He made excellent recommendations for nearby restaurants and attractions, ensuring we had a fantastic time. The highlight of our stay was the Sunday roast and dessert served at the Old Bell. The roast was cooked to perfection, with succulent meat and flavorful accompaniments. The dessert was a heavenly treat, indulging our taste buds with its delectable flavors. We highly recommend the Old Bell to anyone visiting Shrewsbury. With its charming ambiance, exceptional service from Simon, and outstanding Sunday roast and dessert, it's an excellent choice for a delightful stay. We can't wait to return in the future.

If there is one small suggestion, it would be to make the beef steak a bit more tender.

Small rooms, which is all you need for a short stay. Cosy, warm, immaculately clean and a great supply of coffee and tea etc. The bathroom was also lovely.... so nice to have a bath. Breakfast was really good and the whole place was excellent value for money. I would definitely stay there again. It's a bit of a walk to the town but I knew that when I booked, and I don't mind a walk.
