Lovely outlook to the hotel, food was lovely, evening meal and breakfast
The room. Firstly the window had been left open so it was really cold and my mum is 84yrs , to be fair the staff member came and closed it as it couldn't be reached. The one old radiator was not working very well. We went for food and the staff went to try to fix it. It was still cold in the room when we returned, so we were given a portable heater which made a difference. The pillows were flat and hard and the mattress poor. Neither myself or my mother got much sleep and my mother's was in more pain after. I complained and was told they are due an upgrade.

First room was noisy so was moved straight away. Great size room and location was good for what we needed. Off a busy road but windows kept to noise out. Garden overlooked a lovely river.
Nothing wrong and will be back.

We’ve stayed at this hotel a number of times and it’s always been lovely, clean and comfortable! This time we stayed in room 47, the bed was so uncomfortable, we had no sleep at all, pillows were flat!
Room 47

Price was OK. Beds comfortable. Toiletries included
Staff gave the strong impression you were an inconvenience, certainly no quarter given when issues raised or information sought. Staff did not know Information about the hotel services. Broken room furniture, faulty power socket by beds, significant mold in bathrooms which could be smelt on opening bedroom door, let alone the bathroom. Difficult parking for a larger car. No family rooms that can accommodate more the 3, each with a single bed.

Been here a few times now, nice quiet pleasant place. Staff very friendly.
When we got there, no towels so went downstairs to ask about them a member of staff came up with 2 bath towels only, didn’t realise until later was no hand/ hair towels. Went to have a shower and the shower door fell off, we did manage to put the slider door back on eventually also there was no regular sugar with the tea/ coffee facilities.
I was a very hot day I understand the staff had left the windows wide open of the room but we really had a problem with room 50, it had a height ledge sort of and had to go mountaineering to reach and they were very difficult too close.

All good actually excellent
Shower hose very very dirty.

Cheap prices and nice restaurant connected
Late checkout price is ridiculous. £10 per hour for a late checkout. So had to pay £20 extra. The whole reason for my late checkout was because I was on a night shift and only got back at 6am and needed to checkout later so I could have enough sleep. Despite the late checkout the maids tried to come into my room 3 times, which means I didn’t get much sleep in the end. Oh and there was a massive hair ball on the bathroom wall but apart from that it did the job.

The staff were friendly and helpful. They were quick to help when my room smelt of sewage from the shower drain. And on the second night too.
Appalling smell from bathroom shower drain on both nights of my stay. Bedside light bulb blown. Batteries fell out of TV remote - broken. Floor not hoovered. No hairdryer in room. 30 minute wait for breakfast on first day - skipped breakfast on second day as couldn’t afford to be late for work.

The location was good for the airport that’s about the only good thing !
I could name many things but just the place overall was a shambles. The rooms : beds were very uncomfortable springs poking through, room was very dated and had tiles hanging off the walls in the shower, lots of road noise due to the windows been damaged/old. Food at the property:The food must have been the worst I have come across with everything been other over done burnt or tasting like a chip pan for the price of the food it was shocking also. Staff: staff at this property were very
Rude that’s including the manager I and another couple asked if the tv could be turned over in the lounge and she said she couldn’t find the remote so she said she would look after waiting 20 minutes I went and asked again when all I got is no I can’t find it with no intention of looking and from the bar maid saying it’s not my job I don’t get paid for that the manager dose I must say they was one young lass that was trying her best with all these rude disinterested people around her.

Nothing
Broken Window frame and blew open in the night , bed had a broken spring and bed frame was broken , toilet leaked all over the floor , skirting board hanging off and smelt muddy

Room a reasonable size and overlooking canal, so very quiet. Breakfast good buffet on 2 days and freshly cooked on other. Eggs decent quality and cooked perfectly (white solid, yolk liquid), plenty of tea and toast available. Evening meals good with 2 for 1 deal, although carvery closes early on Sunday at 6pm so if you don't get there early, you can't eat.

The Dinner we had was good and reasonably priced
The towels were new and thick
The bedroom and bathroom were worn, not clean and needed refurbishment or a deep steam clean at the very least.
There was an unpleasant smell in the room.
The bed was uncomfortable with a wood board under my mattress and another person found bed lumpy. The bottom bed sheet seemed too small and hence was not fitted properly and I had to remake bed to prevent the sheet riding further down the bed. This resulted in me having to pull the bed out to refit the sheet and the corner skirting board and carpet were filthy and seemed not to have been cleaned for a long time.
The curtains were rather thin grubby and poorly fitted.
The carpet was worn and needed replacing.
The pillows were rock hard
The room was parallel to a very busy road so there was disturbing road noise

The reception area and entrance to the property has obviously been modernised and looks nice
The room was dirty, dusty, full of black mould and outdated. I didn’t want to touch the floor without shoes! The beds and pillows were extremely uncomfortable!

The staff were very welcoming and cheerful. Couldn't have asked for more. Food was very good for such a limited menu.
The room was very shabby, not very clean and extremely cold. I didn't want to put my bare feet on the grubby carpet. Cobwebs hanging all over the ceiling. Mattress was lumpy

Can't think of anything.

Overall it was a reasonable stay. The room was clean and warm. For the price I also thought that the room was above standard. Bathroom was clean and functional
The checking in process took forever; and I was the only person queing. If there had have been a que then this may well be a problem. To be fair was the lady was behind the desk the process speeded up and the receptionist herself was very pleasant and friendly.

The restraunt was extremely cosy and the food was extremely good value decent positions and tasted nice the staff were friendly and polite despite being massively understaffed!
The rooms were getting delapidated, tired and shabby with skirting boards hanging off, the grout in the bathroom was either missing in many areas or extremely mouldy, the shower head was covered in black lime scale and the shower screen was broken and so water leaked everywhere. the room was very cold and the small electric heater took ages to warm the room and then was very loud when regulating and finally the bedding was not fully clean and the pillows were incredible uncomfortable and impacted my sleep massively! The room had no TV remote and when I got one from reception only 2 buttons worked so I had to get up to adjust its settings! Finally the walls and floors and celings are paper thin so even someone walking along the corridor sounded like and earthquake and everything creaked!

Day staff were pleasant and the evening meal was very nice as was the breakfast.
I did find large clumps of dark hair on the bedroom carpet which obviously wasn't hoovered properly and the crockery wasn't as clean as it could have been.
The people in the room above me were very noisy from midnight all the way through to the morning. They were constantly walking up and down and singing to loud music all night long.
When I went to reception to complain the night staff said "what do you expect, it's a hotel, you're going to hear noise".
My reply was that I expect to hear noise but not that much and to the extent it kept me away most of the night.
I expected the night staff to ask the occupants to be more respectful of other people.

I liked the outlook from the room with its view of the Birmingham and Faisely Canal and fields. Our room was nicely furnished with a really comfortable bed. Bathroom was adequate with an excellent shower. Cuisine was good to excellent.
Breakfast was excellent when fresh but suffered a little while under the warming lamps. Fresh coffee would have been appreciated rather than the diy.

The customer service was excellent, there was a slight problem when we arrived and the staff couldn't do enough for us to make it right.
The food in the restaurant was great, and lovely choice of menu
Everything was as we would have wanted

Local and easy to go to.
Very noisy floor board on top of the room I stayed in. The guest on the first floor on top of my room was up and walking till 3:30 am and I can hear all the noise plus the flash of the toilet which made me up most of the night. Also, I requested to have a room on the 1st or 2nd room if possible but the staff did not even know about the request from booking.com. My last two stays there were brilliant this one was terrible.

Brilliant location, staff were very friendly and approachable. Room had all the things we required.
We didn't have a TV remote, and the bed wasn't that great - but at home we do have an Emma mattress so I'm a bit of a bed snob! It was comfortable enough for the night. There were some marks on the walls, but that's more wear and tear.

It was great for what we needed as a group of 4 travelling for a quick overnight but hotel needs some work in Certain areas
Staff were very friendly
