The facilities were well thought out. Everything was super clean the owner was always available and helpful the meals prepared by him were excellent. We highly feel this is a great place to stay

Frühstück waren Fertigprodukte, eher billige Qualität, jedoch aufmerksam serviert und nett präsentiert.
Lage wäre an sich schön in altem Tessinerhaus, jedoch liegen die Zimmer direkt über der Bar, wo jeden Abend laut diskutiert und unter den Zimmerfenstern geraucht wird, zum Glück ist um 23:00h Feierabend.
Es müssten neue Betten inkl. guten mittelharten Matratzen angeschafft werden. Der alte Spannteppich in den Zimmern ist aus hygienischer Sicht schlecht. Im Bad läuft das Lavabo extrem langsam ab, dafür hat man Schnellheizung und schnell warmes Wasser, was angenehm ist. Die Zimmer sind extrem klein, es hat auch im grösseren Zimmer mit niedlichem Balkönchen keine Möglichkeit nasse Kleider und Schuhe aufzuhängen, bzw. zu deponieren.
Für Kurzaufenthalter ohne grosse Ansprüche kann die Unterkunft empfohlen werden.
Gegessen haben wir nicht, ausser Frühstück, jedoch handelt es sich um einen Einmann-Betrieb, der Besitzer macht also Barbetrieb, Frühstücksbetrieb und Küche, sowie Service alles allein (ausgenommen Zimmerreinigung) und hat doch etwa 25 Sitzplätze. Entsprechend dürfen die Erwartungen nicht zu hoch angesetzt werden. Die alten Treppen im Haus sind extrem gefährlich, nichts für gebehinderte Menschen!

Leuke ontvangst door de eigenaar. De B&B is in een klein dorpje gelegen. Je kan er wandelen en fietsen en de grote meren zijn vlakbij voor een daguitstap. Het ontbijt is heerlijk. Het is niet in buffetvorm maar je kan op een lange lijst aankruisen wat je maar wenst. We hebben er ook zeer lekker gegeten 's avonds. En vegetarisch kan ook!
Als we dan toch een opmerking moeten maken (als ouder koppel ;) ): Er moet stilaan eens gedacht worden aan het vervangen van de matrassen.

This is a wonderful B&B in the heart of the most beautiful surroundings imaginable. After a two week trip in Europe, our two nights here were our favorite! The breakfast was amazing and the host could not have been more wonderful. The views from the rooms were gorgeous and there is easy access to amazing waterfalls, mountains and trails. We can’t wait to return!

We chose the hotel for its location and it did not disappoint in that regard. Our host was helpful and friendly. Good breakfast.
The room was tiny and cramped. Separate bathroom was private but a few steps away from the room. Need to go up and down narrow steps to navigate to room, bathroom, breakfast room, and external patio area. The photographs do not give a clear indication of just how small the room is. We left after one sleepless night, forfeiting the second night's cost.

Very cosy garden to relax after long trekking. Breakfast was amazing. We joined one time dinner which was really nice. I would say they have a perfect kitchen.

It is always a pleasure to stay at Don Jon. My favourite place to stay in Ticino. Where to start? Always a friendly welcome from the guy at reception, an excellent sizable breakfast, a beautiful and quiet location in the middle of nature, the lovely garden with its kiwi trees growing over your head and the view on the mountains, the delicious food (highly recommend both the gnocchi and the risotto, both incredibly delicious and mean that you don't even have to travel far for excellent local Ticinese dishes. The Ticinese wine speaks for itself, you cannot go wrong with the Merlot, both red and white, perfection), the friendly and charming waitress (portuguese), big comfy room with nice balcony view onto mountains, will keep coming back, certo! Grazie, Don Jon!

Staff very friendly and helped us out with everything we needed. Including translating to english! Quaint place that feels like a home. Very well situated in town. Excellent restaurant as well.

Very rustic location, nice and helpful personnel, despite the rustic atmosphere, the room and bathroom were modern and decorated with good taste. The location was perfect - between the valley, alps and Locarno. The restaurant at hotel was perhaps the best of what we visited at our Swiss tour.

The food, the back garden with the sunloungers, our big spacious room with balcony and the quiet little village of Someo - all simply fantastic! Daniele, the host and chef has great taste in both decoration and food and Teresa the waitress is super friendly and efficient yet takes her time to explain everything you need to know.
We came all the way from Ireland because we heard about ‚Donjon‘ and we will be recommending this gem of a place to anybody we know that would like to stay in the area of Locarno. Hard to beat this kind of quality with the reasonable prices. Grazie Daniele e Teresa, alla prossima 😃😃
