This is the definition of a ‘hidden gem’. You will quite literally be hidden when at this resort in beautiful Amed. There are no distractions except for the sounds of the surf and the excellent food prepared by the great staff. The sunrise viewed from our spacious balcony was magical. The ocean was warm and inviting. The Japanese Shipwreck is a short swim away (note this is ocean swimming so it will be more difficult than swimming in a pool). Snorkeling equipment is offered by the resort. If you need television, the TV has all the streaming services and regular Indonesian channels. They even had board games and books in the lobby area. My wife smoked me in Scrabble played on our balcony while listening to the rocks on the beach being pulled in and out by the surf. The outdoor bathroom is the show stopper. My wife and I didn’t know we needed an outdoor bathroom experience in our lives until this trip to Indonesia. This is the second outdoor bathroom we have had. If the first one in Labaun Bajo was great, this one was awesome. We only stayed for a night but managed to take 3 showers! From our upstairs room, our bathroom view from the two showers featured tall green jungle mountains. We could have stayed here for a week and been happy never leaving the resort. The staff was the best and it felt as if my wife and I were being personally catered to. I can’t recommend any more highly a place for quiet relaxation in Amed, Bali.
There was nothing to not like, but there are some things that a traveler wanting the ultimate relaxation should know before booking.
First, the resort is hidden on a very small and busy rural coastal road. It is recommended to have a driver take you and pick you up so you don’t have to navigate this road.
Second, you are 30-45 minutes from many touristy places in Amed. If you book this resort, plan on being at the resort. If you must go to Amed, please have the resort organize a driver.
Third, since the road is very busy and isn’t without significant potholes, don’t think ‘We can get scooters to go to the center of Amed’. Having ridden a scooter in Bali in Candidasa to the Virgin Beach, I would NOT get on a scooter on this road.
Fourth, if you are sightseeing Bali, this is not where you need to stay. You will spend much time navigating the small road in and out before you really get to bigger roads to like Tirta Gangga or Heaven’s Gate. Have a driver take you to famous places on the way to or from the resort.
Fifth, the beach is not a normal beach. It is compromised of millions of flat stones. Getting in and out of the water is challenging but very doable with practice. There is a green rope secured to a post that can help you in and out of the water.
Sixth, since the beach isn’t ‘beachy’ and entertainment options are limited, this might not be the best resort for kids. The resort does offered tours and snorkeling/diving trips though if your kids would be happy with that.
Like I said though, nothing of these compromised my enjoyment of this resort, and I would book again in a heartbeat!

Staying at Nalini is like staying with family. We felt so relaxed, warm and welcomed. The staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble. The food is next level amazing and we'd smuggle the cook home with us if we could. We had no desire whatsoever to leave the resort restaurant for another in Amed. Januare and Ari are the nicest hosts you'd ever hope to meet. Snorkel gear is available to hire, and you can head into the water directly in front of the resort. The pool is clean and well-shaded with plenty of lounges. On our last night, the young girls in the family-run business performed several traditional Balinese dances for the diners...who doesn't love dinner and a show!! I can't recommend Nalini highly enough.
Not a criticism, merely suggestions: The pillows could do with an upgrade, and "Karang" suite could do with a desk or similar.

Our stay in Nalini Resort exceeded our expectations ! As soon as we arrived, we felt pampered by Ari and January ( the owners) and their entire staff with their professionalism and friendliness at all times.
The attention to details is exceptional.
We also absolutely loved the food there, always fresh and extremely tasty. We barely ate outside the resort.
Our room was facing the sea and the sound of the waves rocks you to sleep at night..! Superb !.
Absolutely nothing !

The location is amazing, just in front of the sea with beautiful views from the balcony. It is a bit far from Amed village (by walk) but totally worth it. The staff are very helpful and smiling all the time. We enjoyed our short stay very much.
The rain shower needs some maintenance 😌

The food was excellent. The staff very helpful and friendly. It was quiet and peaceful.the pool wonderful, the massages very good.
Something that was not mentioned when. I booked. There are big rocks leading down to the sea, and not easily manageable if you were not young and agile. It prevented us from swimming and snorkling in the sea.

The location is right on the beach and can snorkel directly off the beach. The food was fantastic and the woman who helped serve the food was so friendly.
The bathrooms since outdoors felt like saunas with the heat. Was fine for a night but would have been hard for me for longer. I found communication with the manager to be a bit strange. My plans changed last minute but before I arrived so I tried contacting them through Booking to change my reservation to 1 night. They rejected the change on booking which I accepted since I knew the date had passed for cancellation/modification. I informed them that I would have to leave anyways. However when I got to the property, they didn’t seem to know this and kept saying I should have contacted booking…but they handle all the payments and rejected the change. So I didn’t quite understand

Ari and Januari (and Ari’s dad, Norman) lead a team of wonderful staff; nothing is too much trouble and always with a smile. Food was lovely, pool was just right and location right on the water, in a little fishing village, idyllic.
Rocks instead of sand preventing an easy walk along the beach

Beautiful view from the restaurant, snorkelling was amazing just off shore to shipwreck.

The team at Nalini are wonderful. The chef was able to make us the most divine vegan meals. You can rent snorkels and go out direct from the beach to a gorgeous healthy reef. Remember safe reef sunscreen or don’t wear it out on the reefs.

Nalini is right on the beachfront of this beautiful
fishing village . You can watch the boats go out and return in the morning , and even join Ari’s dad on a trip if you wish! You can snorkel to the famous Japanese shipwreck from the front of the restaurant . Ari and his family do everything possible to make your stay extra special .

Nalini Resort was wonderful. The property is right on the ocean and whilst it may be a short drive from Amed Beach it was great for us as we like peace and solitude. The staff were lovely ... Ari the Manager and his wife were so accommodating as well as Annie who looked after us every day. Nyoman even gave us some popcorn one afternoon whilst we were having our arvo drinks! The owners happened to be on site during our stay and we were lucky enough to have dinner with them each night which we thoroughly enjoyed. Don't even start me on the food ... we did not eat anywhere apart from Nalini because the food was too good!!! Every meal was fabulous in particular the spring rolls (never had any that good) with believe it or not ... blue cheese dipping sauce ... NEXT LEVEL goodness! Their bao buns were like giant pillows .. seriously good food. Annie also makes the best frozen margaritas I had during my 3 week trip. Do yourself a favour and get out of the touristy places and visit this lovely area of Bali. We hope to return one day x

We have been to Bali many times and found this little gem on our last trip. Probably the best hotel we stayed in! Nice small hotel with an excellent restaurant, great facilities, staff and owners were all fantastic. We highly rate this hotel and will be back.
We couldn't fault anything

Room was right on beach over looking Lombok Strait and we could see fishermen in their Jukungs every morning. Staff and meals were fantastic. We could snorkel off beach and there is a wreck and coral in front of hotel. Although called a resort this is a small, high quality, family run hotel situated in a quieter part of Amed.
The pebble beach, whilst impeccably clean can be a challenge to negotiate without beach shoes or sandals.

The location is beautiful with nearby spots for sunset view, snorkeling and mountain hikes. In the morning you can see the sunrise right in front of your room window. The hotel is right at the beach with a beautiful swimming pool. The room was big, spacious and very clean, with an amazing private outdoors shower.
All the staff is kind, nice and very friendly. They will do everything you need to make you feel comfortable and make sure you enjoy your days at Nalini.
The restaurant is excellent. Very good cooks, mixing traditional Balinese and western cuisine.
They also offer excellent massages right at the hotel. We did also their snorkeling trip and used their very nice and convenient taxi service. We would definitely repeat everything with them.

Open bathroom with the skyview
View and sounds of the beach
The light under the balcony coming from the restaurant terrace doesn't allow you to see the stars before the restaurant closes

Good, well manicured hotel right on the beach front. Enormous outdoor bathroom in the seafront suites. Food in hotel restaurant ranging from good to truly excellent. Good snorkelling right off the beach and small Japanese (?) WW2 shipwreck within easy swimming distance (just watch out for aggressive trigger fish and sea urchins). DVD's available to watch on in-room TV. WiFi mostly OK (except for a 5 hour outage on Day 2).
Terrible, red bed-side lamps. Bathroom seems larger than the room itself but appears to be included when describing the size of the room. No drain from the bathroom floor which meant walking through puddles of rain water on the way to and from the loo after each rain shower. One underwater light in the swimming pool was half full of water, leading me to worry about electrocution. Was only told on Day 3 about the DVD's that were available in lieu of the non-existing TV channels. No mobile phone coverage. No restaurants, cafes, or shops nearby.
