proximity to the airport

We booked this hotel to stay close to the airport; we tried to get some rest (17-24) before our midnight international flight, it proved impossible due to the constant traffic noise-honks; street vendors selling out loud and discotheque venues in the proximity.

This hotel far exceeded our expectations. Based on other reviews, we were not expecting much from Hotel Alexander but we were pleasantly surprised during our stay. We didn't arrive until 4am from a flight and the staff were there to greet us as we arrived in the taxi, they helped take our bags inside, and the receptionist spoke very good English which was helpful as our Spanish is very weak. Our room was very clean, the shower was warm and worked well, the bed was comfortable, the wifi was not very strong in the room but it worked well enough, and the breakfast was great. Check out was simple and reception booked us a taxi and negotiated a very fair price for the taxi as well. We were very impressed. It is a great hotel for a quick stop if you are arriving from the airport or headed to the airport.

The street outside was noisy at all times. This was not a problem for us as we wear ear plugs, but it is something to keep in mind.

It’s a $35 a night hotel. You get what you pay for. However, there are tons and tons of “Alojamientos” all over this area with rooms just as nice for 1/3 the price.

Staff is inefficient

had parking garage at least… wish it was locked with a gate vs just a ‘guard’
