This property has the perfect outdoor space. We enjoyed the backyard with hot tub and fire pit. Lots of furniture to accommodate everyone. Location close to everything. Even provided beach chairs and towels. Very accommodating.

Very spacious location with wonderful hosts that go out their way to make you comfortable. The ‘Tall Tree lodge’ makes very good use of space and does provide ample bedroom space for families. It does require a fair amount of steps to get up to the house, so consider that if there are folks with ADA needs but otherwise very comfortable and warmly inviting once there!

The cabin is large and well laid out for groups of families with kids given the 2 large, private master bedrooms and the smaller kids rooms w multiple beds. Given the huge amount of snow this year, it was bit harder to get to the Heavenly California lifts than expected, but we still walked to/from and it was easy to make a car drop off as well. Owners were easy to communicate with and have equipped the cabin with plenty of extras to make your stay comfy. If you’re looking for sleek, new & state of the art- look for a different place; but comfortable, close & secluded… then this is your place.

We loved our stay and will definitely be coming back! Everything was ready for us and the hosts were so awesome!!! Wendy and Erik are extremely easy going and even bought pizza and beer for our first night up! Looking forward to coming back very soon!

This was was absolutely perfect for our long weekend getaway. We came up with 6 teenage boys for a birthday celebration and the house fit us perfectly. All of the boys took the upstairs bedrooms while my husband and I stayed downstairs. The huge open downstairs was great for hanging out. There were so many outdoor seating areas as well. The hot tub and firepit was great after a long day. There were definitely a lot of steps to get to the house, but this wasn't a big deal for us. The host was very easy to communicate with and showed us around the house when we arrived. This house is old and has been lived in well so don't expect it to be squeaky clean.

The house and yard are wonderful, the location is fantastic. The stairs to the house were a bit hard on the elderly members of my family, but we knew what we were getting into after reading some reviews. The loft bedrooms were also a bit tricky to visualize from the description and it took a few conversations to understand if it would work for us. For our kids, they work great. Better photos or a video tour would be very helpful. All in all, the house was really fun- Great for kids, great for the dog, with plenty of things to get into without even leaving the house. Hot tub was clean, yard was fantastic, awesome mountain biking trail only a couple blocks away, beach down the hill…Hope to return someday. Hosts were wonderful.

The back deck is great for relaxing and watching the wildlife. We even saw a black bear just doing bear things.

It was extremely difficult carrying luggage and our groceries, etc., to the main house. Plus to get to 4 of the beds you have to go through another bedroom or use a very old spiral staircase. There were no written instructions to use hot tub, to use the Roku TV system or departure instructions.

The location was perfect for our ski trip and the hosts were very accommodating. We did have some concerns regarding cleanliness as there was an obvious ant problem and some rotten food in the fridge. Overall though, our hosts were very responsive to questions throughout our stay.

Amazing Stay!
Exceptional property and close to everything! Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Wendy made check in and out extremely easy and was very accommodating. House was very large and slept my group comfortably. Fantastic deal for South Lake Tahoe.

A nice getaway
We had a good time despite all the ash and smoke. The pictures displayed are not entirely correct. There are a lot of steps to get to the main house. Lots of room and it is located close to everything.

Had such an amazing stay at the Tall Tree Lodge! The location is great and the house is cozy and welcoming. Just a quick drive to the lake and the kids had such a great time exploring the forest in the backyard. We definitely worked out our leg muscles coming and going but it was worth it! Erik was kind and responsive. Would definitely stay again!

Great location, great hosts
We had a wonderful time. The location was fantastic - we really loved the setting in the woods, there was great space to walk the dog, and it was a 2 minute drive to the California base. The house is very well stocked for cooking, and felt very homey and comfortable. Some might feel it needs a little updating, but everything worked well and it was great for us. The owners were very helpful with suggestions and very communicative. Can't wait to go back. Thanks!

This place is conveniently located near beautiful Heavenly Village and offered all of the amenities we wished for. Making delicious meals in their well stocked kitchen, playing games at the huge family size dining table and being surrounded by amazing scenery was priceless. We loved the nightly outdoor firepit and the indoor fireplaces, too!! We all enjoyed the hot tub on the back porch as the snow fell! Truly a winter wonderland - private yet close to everything. We had a small gathering to celebrate the engagement of our son and soon-to-be wife. Tall Tree Lodge had plenty of outdoor seating /space so that we were able to properly distance ourselves and follow CDC guidelines for the pandemic. Wonder were immediately responsive and went above and beyond to accommodate a couple of special requests! We have probably rented two dozen houses in Tahoe over the years, but this was, by far, the best. All guests mentioned how special and perfect the house was for our special occasion!!

Wonder were immediately responsive and went above and beyond to accommodate a couple of special requests! Amazing stay
This place is out of the extraordinary, we came in a group of 11 and there was more than enough room for us. Erik was there when we arrived and he showed us the house and what to expect. BEERS & PIZZA?! Yes, Wendy and Erik did that! I would highly recommended this place to any gatherings. The back yard into the wilderness was my favorite spot, the jacuzzi was a bonus. Upstairs master bdrooms have so much space and the bed feels great to sleep on, not those hard cardboard ones. Bikes & beach stuff all ready for us, if we needed it. Everything you see in these photos looks soo much better in person. I would mos def come back and book this place again. Lastly the stairs, i had my workout for the weekend. Overall we had a great stay.

Beautiful Home in the woods!
Erik and Wendy were wonderful hosts! They let us check in early and check out late since we had our boat with us and we wanted to take advantage of the lake one more day. There were 11 of us for a family trip and we all fit comfortably. Such a great place! We loved it!
