Besides the fact that the facilities were impeccable, the room was clean, and the beds were comfy, the owner went above and beyond to help me. It started with a free room upgrade when I arrived. Sadly, I needed to go to the hospital for stomach issues, but the owner (coincidentally also a doctor) kept checking in on me every morning and night. Giving me recommendations for food and medicine and was willing to give every bit of help available. Till the point of getting medicine for me. Truly made me feel safe and welcomed. Great recommendation for if you're staying in bukittinggi and want to explore the surrounding area.

Really lovely host, upgraded room, super comfy beds, great location. I had the whole house to myself for a bit which was nice and the wifi worked well.

Constantly dropping tap in the bathroom, power outlet was difficult to access in the room (I had to move the bed) and needed to find a powerboard to have the fan and my phone plugged in simultaneously.. all quite easy things to fix :)

It is an old house converted into a guest house. It gives the warm feeling of being at home. As soon as we arrived, we felt so comfortable that we decided to extend our stay. The host Dr. Astani is very kind and considerate. She even helped us to arrange a trip to Lima Kaum to see the Pacu Jawi, a cattle race, and the Pagaruyung Palace. She’s also provided the information about our next destination, Padang. Thank you, Dr. Astani.

It’s not a complain, there is no stove or microwave oven in the house. But we understand. Besides there are so many places to get food near the house.

This is by far the most empathic and kind host I have ever had in 3 months of travel. I truly felt at home in this place

My bedroom had a fan and the common room was large.

The shower was difficult, it worked, but it was annoying to handle.

The woman that welcomed me was really friendly and gave me an upgraded room. The owner of the house is equally friendly and although she wasn't physically there, she answered my many questions patiently via WhatsApp. The house is in a nice location, close to many restaurants, a supermarket next door and a (children's) fair that is interesting to walk through. I rented a scooter for a good price from a contact of the guesthouse. The beds were also comfortable and there's a kitchen to prepare some simple meals (rice cooker, cutlery, plates, cups) and a water dispenser.

The shared toilet/bathroom could have been cleaned better (it started smelling of pee after two days) and some separate space to put my own toiletries in the bathroom would have be an improvement. The water dispenser had some mould in the cold water tap, so I continued to buy water from the supermarket.

Everything is perfect: staff, location, price, facility. They upgraded my room too. Absolutely high recommended. Will definitely come back if I travel to Bukit Tinggi.
