The host Kreisel and her team are super caring, they help you with booking all trips and are always there for you, the place is well organized with a big kitchen, it’s clean with fast WiFi, I loved my stay here!

Zone très bruyante: motos en permanence et aboiements de chiens. Une terrasse à partager avec l'hébergement mitoyen. Lits trop petits. Cuisine équipée de choses inutiles mais manquait le nécessaire tels que couteaux qui coupent et couverts. Un sentiment d'oppression

This was one of the nicest hostels we have ever stayed at. Rooms were really clean, the staff were really helpful and the kitchen was big, well stocked and clean. Would happily live in the room. Quiet and peaceful and not a long walk to town! Thanks for a lovely stay!

Johnathan was a friendly host. The room was basic but we only used it to sleep and chill. The kitchen was well equipped and very spacious, with a corner of board games to keep us entertained. Amazing value for money with a great laundry service also! Special shout-out to Naranja the cat who was the sleepiest cat we’ve ever met!

It was a short walk out of the town, and the shower head in the shared bathroom needed fixed.

Comfy bed. Spacious room. Friendly staff. Incredible kitchen - well stocked and kept very clean.

the staff were a pleasure and very helpful always smiling and ready with knowledge to help.Your own room with a double bed for the price of a bunk bed in other hostels is a pleasure for budget travellers .l look forward to my return there one day soon l think

Very clean, comfortable and spacious. Beds were very comfy. Jonathan the host, was very friendly and helpful, he helped me get my shoe back after I lost it bungee jumping! The hostel has a lot of tours/activities they can book for you. The kitchen is large and great sociable area .

As Monteverde is in the jungle; we did find a few bugs were in the room with us. The hostel is a little out of the way from the main town - about 8/10 min walk, one of the roads isn't lit up.

Clean, quiet, private room. Big windows. Close to the town's centre. Very helpful staff. Helped us book activities and tours.

Very simple, clean, excellent hospitality, affordable - absolutely did a great job for our one night stay during the road trip.

Good value for money, and Dani was really helpful. Large area in which to cook and eat, which was good for meeting other travellers. Room had blankets which were needed as was bad weather during visit.

Could have benefitted from a couple of hooks in room to hang things on. Water in shower cold (not that uncommon in CR, but when it is cold outside it's more noticeable).

It is a nice place to stay. The kitchen is very big and well equipped. The hosts were very helpful and kind.

This place is so comfortable AND clean! The bed was unbelievable to rest in after a week of sleeping in other hostels, it was relaxing! And the bathroom was large and clean too, with hot water. The owner Jonathan is so helpful and welcoming. He helped arrange activities and onwards transportation. Location was great too, walking distance to supermarkets, sodas, and atms, but Cattleya had a large and open kitchen if you wish to cook for yourself. wifi is stable and reliable, and there’s a fat cat that naps in the main downstairs area that snores and purrs all day. Just a tip, if you’re arriving from Fortuna via the bus, boat, bus, you’ll arrive around 11:30-12:00, which gives you plenty of time to do activities as soon as you arrive. I did xtremo ziplining and a night walk the day I arrived.

You do need to pay in cash, which I wasn’t aware of ahead of time. I had hoped they’d accept credit card but the owner is very flexible, and said I could pay at checkout.

I cannot express how helpful the staff was, both the owner Jonathan and the woman working at the front desk. amazing!!! The room was very clean with very comfortable beds. Double kitchen in the main space so did not have to wait for others to finish cooking.

Exceptionally clean, recently updated, perfect location, excellent price. Even though this is a hostel, we had a private room with bathroom, making this just as comfortable as a hotel. The room was spacious, the bathroom was new, everything worked.

There is a big kitchen with a lot of equipment. It is easy to meet people and the hosts are very kind and flexible. I got a free upgrade to a private room which was very nice cause I felt a bit sick.

It is a bit out of town but not to far, only when it rains haha.

Excellent value for money. Nice big room and modern. Good Wi-Fi, managed to watch Netflix on the TV. Kitchen facilities were great. Would go again.

Stayed in new building where you have to cross a dark muddy road to get to the kitchen, not great in thunderstorms and a little spooky at night. The blankets in our room were smelly.

This place is extraordinary value for money! Rooms are brand new and clean. Hot showers and communal kitchen is always tidy and has everything you need! The staff are great and so helpful - really enriched or experience. They also have a cute fat cat.

The room was lovely, spacious, clean and tidy. We stayed in the superior double room with private bathroom since it was so cheap! They got hotel type shower with hot water. The kitchen was AWESOME. They have everything you need and more. They also provide with oil, seasoning, free coffee ...etc. and not instant coffee, the yummy one!!! The location is perfect, walking distance to center, supermarket and bus stop. Everything within 10 minutes. Buses and shuttles come to your door for tours and experiences. Something remarkable about this place is the staff. Honestly, you don't stay in places where they treat you like king and queen so often. Jonathan is simply wonderful. He's available all the time, in person and WhatsApp. He is the owner and works the hardest. Super helpful, professional, friendly and polite. He's a gem! Very recommend hostel.

Small things like we didn't have the greatest wifi connection and we were a bit cold in the room. Too much humidity in those areas I guess. Nothing major!

The owner Johnathan is amazing! he gives great tips and tools for Costa Rica! he is very nice and generous!! he gave us better room although we ordered dormitory room. there is a big kitchen and we cooked a lot!! there is everything you need and more!!! close to everything you need

Amazing value hostel! Staff were super welcoming and so helpful with arranging taxis and tours. I've stayed at much more expensive hostels in Costa Rica and the service at Cattleya far exceeded them all! The rooms, bathroom and kitchen were also spotless and cleaned every day. The beds were comfy and I appreciated having a thick duvet and blanket at night when it got chilly! I would recommend to anyone wanting a peaceful stay in Monteverde.

Not the most sociable hostel. The kitchen area always got super busy in the evenings with everyone making dinner, but nobody talked to each other! Just a strange vibe. Luckily the other travellers I shared the 4 bed dorm with were always friendly and chatty. So a bit hit or miss if you're a solo traveller looking to meet other people, but I've also heard that a lot of the hostels in Monteverde is like this. Just enjoy the peace and quiet!
