Old and Charming!! Woodwork beautiful. Lots of Table/Chair/Kitchen/Outside Space. Cute table and desk area for kids. Little saftey concerns such as stair rail height /stability and steps in DR/K/Den, and swing set.

Great house that was really spacious and had everything you need for a get away! Neighbors were nice and it was a great little neighborhood. Endless things to do around the area and at the house from grilling to camp fires to horseshoes. Really enjoyed the stay it was a comfortable house! Clean house however there were some ants in the upstairs bathroom but its in the country side so you can expect little critters but owners were clearly trying to fix this issue.

The listing really didn’t do this property justice. It was great for three couples and three young children. We were only here briefly but the play set and outside fire pit would be great to enjoy on a longer trip. The house was really clean, charming and the owners thought of all the amenities so that we felt at home. Definitely recommend.

We were so surprised and grateful, as the whole house was decorated for Christmas, which made it extra special for our family. The grandchildren loved the large chalkboard by the Christmas tree!

Property fit our needs for the stay

This was a quaint 4 BR home, nicely laid out and decorated. Plenty of parking and walking distance from downtown. Well equipped for a breakfast, clean thru to your evening campfire. A little hectic with 10 people and one of the Showers being downstairs. Maint and Housekeeping needs improvement, no working ceiling fans on 1st floor and two upstairs BRs lacking fans, one of our guests was sweeping cobwebs from the ceilings and corners and cleaning the sticking fridge drwrs. One thing I would definitely improve wouldbe adding (Handrails both sides from top to bottom of steps) or at least definitely mention it in ads. Overall, I enjoyed spending time with my family and would definitely stay here again.

Disappointed in the lack of communication and failure to take any action by the owner. After I booked this rental I messaged the owner and requested an earlier check in to which he obliged. I made it very clear that I wanted to make sure he had time to get the cleaners in before I arrived so if it meant me needing to come later I would be fine with that. When we arrived the house was a mess and clearly the cleaners hadn't been there since there was a farewell note left by the previous guests. I messaged the owner about this and I never received a response from him. There were dirty sheets everywhere so we just had to pile them up in the laundry room (dryer was also broken) so we couldn't wash and dry anything. None of the surfaces in the kitchen or bathrooms were clean so we had to spend a couple hours scrubbing and wiping everything from the counters to the toilets. Luckily there were plenty of extra sheets and towels but no blankets for the beds. The listing also was supposed to have AC units in each room, but they were all on the floor in each closet so we had to install them ourselves. Aside from all that, the house was as described and we enjoyed it very much, just disappointing that the owner and cleaners let us down. At this time, I still have not received a response from the owner and it's been a full day since we checked out.

Overall a very nice house and location. Outdoor area has a nice fire pit with table and chairs. It’s an old farmhouse with the creakiest stairs-no sneaking around here! The only complaint is that all of the wooden chairs and benches were very loose and shaky and we didn’t want to sit on them. There was plenty of chairs and couches for the 8 of us. Overall a nice place.

Loved the house and the country charm. What a great location. We had a great time enjoying Wellsboro and playing games until late at night. Perfect place for our small Christmas gathering!

What a great time we had. We are a family - 6 siblings. 2 live in the Wellsboro area. The remaining 4 rented the house so that we could all be in one place. It was great not having to run around trying to coordinate getting together. So relaxing sitting out by the fire and catching up.

We are in town to visit the Grand Canyon of PA. Great location. Awesome outside area. Cute town. Spacious living arrangements. Very clean!

This home was very close to Wellsboro; short walk or very short drive. The home was spacious. Unfortunately we did not find it to be very clean and found mouse droppings in many places throughout including the silverware drawer. Communication with the owner was terse and not quick. All in all, it was a fine home and a good value. But a little more effort by the owner or housekeeper would have made it much better

Loved the house and grounds. The kids enjoyed the schoolroom, zipline, and swings. Unfortunately, we didn't have a fire because it was too cold for the little ones. There were plenty of dishes for cooking and the pantry was well stocked. we all loved it and would definitely stay again!

Spacious home that welcomes you with charm. Our family was thrilled with the amount of beds, 2 baths and all the touches of country decor and available amenities that made our stay quite cozy. We felt that it was clean and very inviting. We learned that a few other’s questionable comments must have been from those expecting a modern perfect newly built home with every piece of molding without blemish. This place was not perfectly remodeled. Who’s home doesn’t have something waiting on the to-do list? But it was perfect in our eyes. Other than some squeaky stairs steps, we loved the feel of how welcoming everything was from a coffee bar to extra blankets and even supplies that could be used of theirs if you happened to forget an essential. We didn’t even use the outside area that others liked so much because there was a foot of snow covering things. But then, snowboarding just 30 min. from there is why we planned our stay, so that wasn’t a need for us. We hope to be able to stay there again sometime.

The was perfect for our stay and loved it was within walking distance of Main Street. Darren was great to work with and very accommodating. I would stay at this property again.

Lovely house with rustic charm

This home made for a nice stay during our trip to the PA Grand Canyon. It was close to town (Wellsboro was about a 10 minute walk) and about a 20 minute drive to the Canyon. Our favorite aspect of the house was the outdoor space with the fire pit! It came fully stocked with patio furniture, 2 grills, and firewood. It is an older home, so the beds, floors, and stairs definitely creaked! Also, the second bathroom was off the kitchen, so it wasn’t as accessible as the main bath upstairs with all of the bedrooms. But the house was clean and well-stocked with everyday supplies (even q-tips and cotton balls!).

Great house, lots of well-furnished, comfortable common spaces. Kitchen is fully equipped and good to use. Only shortcoming: ice maker not working. I would gladly stay here again.

We had a great stay. The beds were very comfortable. They're is a lot to do within an hour from where we were at. There were a few little things in the house that needed fixed. Otherwise Great time. Thanks.

Sleeping arrangements were amazing. Awesome being able to wash clothes and ac in the rooms let everyone personalize the temp they wanted. Great community lounge areas inside and out as well. would def stay again.

Had an excellent 2 nights at the Highlands. Great location, quiet neighborhood at the edge of town. Deer wandering in the back yard. 6 guys and plenty of room. Awesome kitchen. Back patio area with plenty of chairs. Large living room dining room and family room. Well supplied. Highly recommend. If ever in the area again this is where I will stay. 5 stars

We had a great weekend. Bonfire, saw movie. perfect romantic getaway

The house is great for a small group gathering of 8 to 10 people. Could use some instructions on accessing the television and how to use the gas fireplace but perfect place for a quiet getaway or as a gathering point to head to the NY lakes, Watkins Glen and esp. the Grand Canyon of PA.

Overall, this was a nice property with plenty of room. Fire pit outside, zipline and swingset for kids, 2 dining areas, spacious kitchen, roomy living area for relaxing, 2 bathrooms, 4 bedrooms and sufficient parking for an SUV and trailer and the 4 motorcycles for our group. My only complaints would be that I felt the kitchen lacked some of the 'basics' that I would liked to have seen and there is a large concrete 'step' (from what I believe might have previously been a garage or outside area which has been enclosed?) that a couple of people in our group almost tripped over a few times until we got used to it being there. The house seems to be a little older, but is located in a nice area and is maintained fairly well.

It is a work in progress. Needs more attention to cleaning. Great space, great mattresses. It is an old house with all the associated quirks :-)

Very spacious house that is beautifully decorated in a quiet out of the way location. Could use a few more instructions on the heating and fireplace, and fix the zip line - but other than that, a wonderful stay

Loved the house and the location. Lots of fun things to see and do. Enjoyed the restaurants and Wellsboro. However the house was not clean. Ants crawling around in the bathroom sinks and rodent droppings in the silverware drawer!! Ugh. The inside of the house was charming but the curb appeal was not. A random table with a broken tent(?) on the front deck. A little TLC and some god cleaning would improve my renting experience.

we rented this spacious home for our Niece's graduation. The home is in a nice quiet area. A few minutes walk to the town. We were able to have a fire in the fire pit in between the rain. The wood was a bonus. Our little ones enjoyed the swings and zip line in the back yard. The home is very spacious and has 2 nice size area eating areas. The lights were a little tricky to figure out.There were a lot of burned out light bulbs, and we couldn't find any to replace them. A few electrical receptacles were not working, some noted and some not, which took a a while to figure out. This home is a work in progress. When its finished I am sure it will be perfect.The decor is rustic and quaint. Which was perfect for my family. We love that style. The house was not as clean as I would have preferred. So we had to do some cleaning before we felt comfortable. The sheets and towels were clean though! After we were home I contacted Darren about the lack of cleanliness and he did let me know that his cleaner was out of town. And he was relying on temporary help. So hopefully this was a one time issue. All in all we enjoyed our stay.
