The location is great, really close to the beach, museums and the harbour with many restaurants, cafe' and so on. They offer free coffee and tea till 10 am, which I found great. Overall they are environment-friendly and attentive to reduce waste. The hall is spacious and offer the perfect space to chill, meet new people, play boardgames (which they had availble to use) and they also have blankets and hot water bottles for the guests to use, adorable to say the least! Spoke to two different members of the staff and they were both just lovely.

Nice hostel. Enjoyed hearing the piano and singing from the theatre next door.
The other person who came into the dorm was the loudest snorer I've ever heard in my 43 years of existence. I don't even know if snoring is the word. He sounded like he was choking to death in his sleep like he was drowning in his own liquid, gasping and growling to insane levels all night. Also talking loudly in his sleep. The snoring was insanely loud like a monster. Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, a cat fight started too outside the window. Sounded like a cat was murdering a seagull. Thanks again

some noise from people arriving back late at night, despite signs asking guests to be quiet and courteous.

Great location, friendly staff, very clean facilities. I like the curtain on the bed.
The shower room is a bit complex. I need to keep pressing the button for the water, otherwise it would stop in about 20 seconds. I understand we should save water, but this is very inconvenient for washing long hair. It is not available to adjust the water temperature either.

The staff were very very friendly and helpful. The hostel is well located, very close to everything.
The place was clean, even the kitchen was sparkling clean and very well maintained. The WI-FI works!

it's clean and spacious. lovely staff. near transports and town centre and beaches.
the kitchen closes at 10pm. this doesn't cater to the night owls amongst the guests. i woke up 10.10pm and couldn't get to my food or drinks in the kitchen. couldn't make myself a cup of tea. lounge closes 11pm. same thing. I'd have liked to sit in lounge reading or watching videos without disturbing room mates but couldn't.
the showers and shower lights are on a 5mins or so timer. don't know if anyone who takes 5mins shower. i know it's to conserve water and energy. but my shower took longer because I keep having to press the shower button and stick my arm out to turn light back on 😰
other than that my stay was great.

We licked the room kids loved it it was like an adventure for them, if I was sharing with strangers then it might be slightly different.
The noise from people walking home after a few drinks kept waking us up but we were on the rd so to be expected I suppose

Great location, very nice common areas and has a kitchen. There's free tea and coffee in the morning.
Room for eight people was rather small, but you don't really spend much time in it, so it's not really important. Lots of stairs!

The weather-spoons kicking out time hooliganism needs addressing by the town council.
It’s very noisy and brawls can be heard because it is close by.
It’s a shame how heavy drinking culture seems to be making its mark in St Ives :(

A really nice place to stay, friendly helpful staff, nice atmosphere. All the facilities you could need.
It can be inconvenient to have to lock your things away and access them again but this goes for all hostels really.
