Tani & Tessa are great hosts - Tani guided us during our 2 days trek in the rice fields and offered several alternatives considering the weather. He loves sharing his knowledge of the area / culture etc… and speaks perfect English
Be prepared for the cold bucket shower 😉 - but that’s part of the Banaue / Batad experience !!

Was die Bewertung anbelangt, so bin ich hier wirklich zwiegespalten. Die Wirtsleute sind herzensgute Menschen, bei denen man sich direkt willkommen fühlt - das fängt schon damit an, dass man vom/zum Bus gebracht wird. Tani hat mir in nur zwei Tagen als Guide die Highlights von Banaue gezeigt und wirklich das Beste aus meiner Zeit herausgeholt.
Was das Zimmer anbelangt: es ist vergleichbar mit einer nepalesischen Berglodge, einfache Pritschen, kein fließend Wasser, zur Straße hin ein Lamellenfenster. Bringt euch Decken mit und zieht euch warm an.

Cheap.
Location is on a busy, often noisy street. The church bells (20 yards away) will wake you up at 4:30 a.m. Beds are not comfortable. I could feel the springs thru the mattress. Noisy doors to all rooms, hinges need some oiling. This combination meant that sleep was hard to come by.
Nowhere to hang/store clothes. Banaue is a cold-ish, sometimes wet place and so clothes hanging is a must. A few basic hooks (not just the one on the back of the door) would be welcome.
We had to ask for a towel on second day (we only brought 1 of our own) instead of it being supplied or even offered.
There is no common seating area to relax in. I believe that there is a room next to the bathroom - maybe that could be made a common area or maybe at top of the stairs.
The very small outside seating area is a mess - full of laundry and construction materials
The owners are in the middle of construction next door but this wasn't related to us until after the booking. This added to the noise.

Wonderfully friendly staff. They can arrange your transportation to and from trekking, and Tani was a great guide for our trek through Pula-Cambulo-Batad.
Its just a simple room and shared bathroom. Nothing luxurious but that's what you expect when staying in Banaue. Just a friendly place to rest for a night or two before/after trekking. The noise from the town can get a little loud if you're tying to get an early night sleep so maybe bring ear plugs if you need them.

I can only recommend Tessa and Tani's home if you search a place to stay in Banaue. Everything is clean, the room are simple but it's a good quality for price and they take feedback of guest into account so they can improve. Also it's a really central location so it's very convenient for everything.
But the best part is more the hosts themself. They are the niciest persons we've met in our trip in Luzon. Really welcoming, interesting discussions, funny and always taking care of their guests.
Also Tani is a guide and I do recommend doing a tour or a trek with him. We chose a 2 days / 1 night trek from Banaue to Batad with my friend and it was an awesome experience. Of course the landscapes are already insane, but also having Tani as a guide was super cool. A serious guide who shared a lot of information, with whom you can have really interesting conversations about everything during the walk, and also many funny moments. We spend 2 beautiful days and if we come back we will be happy to do it again with him. Last point : the price of the tour was fair, especially compared to some insane offers we saw.
