Location was stunning, you could spend hours walking around the land, waterfall and river
Staff were super friendly and welcoming
Breakfast was exquisite (Continental served in room)
Style of home was charming and quirky
Not a huge problem but, if you have a lower car you may struggle with the private road due to unevenness (Dirt track)

Torridon is lovely. The Torridon Estate is a beautiful building. Our room had a very good size. We cycled there and stayed just the one night. Ofcourse the furniture is just a matter of taste, it was a mixture of antiques, a bit of the ordinary and a kind of pop art style.
Although, the bed was extremly comfortable, we were awoken by a mouse in the room. After telling the story about the mouse the next morning - the guy just laughed. It really is not a laughing matter!
The breakfast was oh la la - really nothing to get excited about. Definitely not cooked with love.
The water from the sink and toilet was yellow. For coffee and tea, we were given extra water and the water from the shower was fine.

I recommend staying here more than one night as there was so much to explore and places to hike behind and around the estate. I was impressed by how conscientious the owners were in efforts to sustainably operate this large estate home. This is a big "plus" in my mind. The estate itself was fascinating and very old. The property had an in-house, local artist Hannah Feuerstein, whose work we really appreciated learning about in addition to her fabulous and inviting personality. And, we had a really nice breakfast served directly in our very warm and comfortable room. The furnishings and modern art work were really a pleasure to view as we wandered through the interior.
The estate needs some more "tender loving care" for restoration and the cleaning of magnificent woodwork. Both the landscaping and interior could be more tidy, though mindful that this is a very large, lived-in home so without a larger staff, I understand this is difficult. We also would have liked more of an opportunity to talk with our hosts.

Because it was so big it was cold in the rooms

A charming and large house which is clearly a lived in home and yet very welcoming for guests.

Quirky b&b, think Downton Abbey under renovation. Lovely rooms, decorated with period furniture. Friendly staff and owner, great location in wooded estate right by the Loch with waterfalls. Nice breakfast served in our room. Art gallery on site. Excellent taxi service available from local driver Donald.
Be aware that there are no local facilities in Torridon, so plan ahead for evening meal by booking in somewhere.

The location of the property was great and the kitchen was very well equipped.
Met Sarah the morning after we arrived who was lovely and friendly and sorted the hot water out for us.
The property in general wasn’t clean , although the kitchen and bathroom were, the rest didn’t appear to have been cleaned, a bedside cabinet had to be moved there was a nappy under it ( it was a new one ) all of the floors and stairs needed cleaned .

Beautiful house, beautiful area. Bed was wonderfully comfortable
Having arranged to meet the owner between 5.30-6 at the house via phone/whatsapp. Felix was a no show and unavailable on the phone. There were people in house but all lights around entrance were off. Would have needed a torch to find the front door. I waited 45 mins before Felix finally called me back. He was hardly apologetic and rushed me too my room. Breakfast was arranged for 8am and turned up 15 mins late. Breakfast itself was very disappointing. The workers that stay in the main house certainly don't settle early, they were still knocking around until near 1am.
If you feel the cold the small electric heater in the room would have been inadequate.
I packed bags and left without acknowledgement. The price paid is at a premium compared too other bed and breakfasts I've used in 11 days in Scotland.
Dissapointingly Torridon Estate didn't live up to the standards others have set. Couldn't recommend.

Our hosts were lovely and very accommodating. The staff we encountered were very helpful and kind. We loved our room, which was the only room we were allowed in, which was our only problem. The site photos show several rooms and you think, like other B and Bs that you’ll at least have a study, living room area to sit and have a drink or read a book. There is the entrance area but it wasn’t very accommodating. Every B n B we’ve stayed in, and my husband is from Derby, has a sitting area other than a bedroom. It does state it’s also a family home but then you don’t have access to that part. They do not have a guest area and when you spend the money and time to visit a country this beautiful, you don’t want to just sit in your room, no matter how incredibly lovely it may be! Everything else was exactly what we wanted. Our bedroom was what my husband said was Chatsworth without all the stuffing! Very comfortable and very lovely!! Breakfast was a mixture of breads, cereal, yogurt, fruit and drinks, all nice quality and served in our room in a lovely seating area by the fire. We also saw two huge bucks, with large racks standing in the lawn as we drove back from dinner the first night! Lovely!! We wish we’d booked longer! We really hope to visit again.
I want to preface this by saying we really loved the place and all of these following details are really easy to overcome. I understand being an artists family home..I am, by profession, a graphic artist, so I do understand…that you have an occasional mess, but too much clutter is just clutter. No where to sit, was the first MINOR problem…except bedroom and the road leading in is full of potholes. We were driving an antique car and that was a job, but I can imagine when you buy a place, you are in the middle of fixing it up and that can be a constant chore in Scottish weather. Then, as with older homes, you can hear people moving around and talking early, but we like to sleep later on holiday. We honestly hate to say anything negative about the place because we really liked it and want to visit again. We think they have a gold mine there, but maybe if it was more like the photos they show..?

Large Manor House down a secluded road. Our room was large with a lovely sitting area and table for our breakfast which was brought to us. Breakfast was fresh and perfect.
Because the area is so secluded- there was nowhere near to go for dinner. We brought Cheese and Crackers with us knowing this. I believe if you were to stay during the summer season you might be able to find a restaurant open.

fantastic scenery and setting - almost spooky haunted house. Very grand mansion, quirky interior and nice breakfast delivered to room. Local taxi driver Donald to be recommended for lifts to restaurant and local guided tours.
Distracted owners/hosts. No real welcome, felt as if we were rather a nuisance. Other guests arrived and were left standing in the hallway without anyone to greet them or give room instructions. Very “hands off” approach to hosting. No dining options nearby so need a car or taxi.

Stunning Property and Grounds, Beautiful well appointed rooms. Bed was amazing, loved the breakfast being brought to the room in the morning. Staff/residents were really lovely.
Nothing it was perfect.

A beautiful, stylish house, verdant grounds, friendly staff and a satisfying breakfast.
Our room was just so cosy and the stained glass bathroom screen was gorgeous!
Seeing negatives in a house this massive is very possible but not advisable. Appreciate this for what it is: a unique, quirky gem!
Top tip: Check availability of local restaurants and shops, especially on Sundays and/or out of season: March to September. Book early or bring food to have a room/outdoor picnic. Some places are closed out if season.
Duvet cover a little too small for the single bed; the
same size as the single bed but not much overlap so when turning in bed at night, it can leave parts exposed. A wee bit bigger would be appreciated.

Every detail of his house has some significance in its history. The owners have concentrated on making the rooms spotlessly clean and comfortable without destroying the original features which give the house it's patina. Felix and Sarah are friendly and welcoming.

The location and overall ambiance of the estate is marvelous. The hospitality of Felix and Sarah is very welcoming and Felix even helped us with some options for dinner.

very atmospheric, big old building very different from standard hotels. Esoteric. Big comfortable bed and the room was warm due to local heaters. Breakfast was served on a tray to the room. It turned out to be excellent and varied. Tucked away location at the end of long woodland drive. it felt like we had entered a Murder Mystery Weekend. Good Wi-Fi
The greeting left us unsure what, if any, rooms were available for our use. No TV, 'brown' water in bathroom put us off showering. Seperate drinking water was supplied for tea and coffee.

it’s quirkiness and location . Breakfast in the room was a treat and plentiful .
the water temperature of the shower in the morning wasn’t very warm but we had already been warned that it was an old property and this sometimes can happen so it didn’t put us off .

Beautiful enormous old property, lovely big room and beds. The delicious breakfast was served in the room and included a boiled egg, croissant and cafetière of fresh coffee, amongst other foods. Located on Loch Torridon it would be a wonderful base for walking.
Check in was very strange, it reminded us of several films, and there was no interaction after that. On arrival the shower in our room was being ‘fixed’ by a man who eventually left without a word so we didn’t know if he was coming back or not! The shower was stone cold the next morning.

Beautiful secluded location, fabulous quirky house with many original features and large comfortable bedroom and separate dining area for breakfast brought to your room.
No choice for breakfast and not cooked (apart from a boiled egg) but adequate, cornflakes, Croissants, fruit, yogurt, juice, tea/coffee

A beautiful country house in a stunning location.
The water ran brown and there were scorch marks on the plug sockets. The breakfast was lovely but we didn’t realise that a cooked breakfast wasn’t offered.
