Friendliness of staff and size of room.

Mattress was very firm and uncomfortable. Not the plush that I'm used to at a Hilton product.

I love the TRU hotels because they are clean, contemporary and simplistic yet totally satisfying. There is no carpet on the floor which I love. This means no weird smells, and no cooties buried within. Breakfast is everything you need, and the whole vibe is that of community.

one thing that concerns me about this particular property is the shower and the potential for mold. Another is the high pitch constant ring the refrigerator was giving. I ended up unplugging it. had I brought my dog, he would not have liked it.

Convenient

Our ironing board was broken and we asked for a replacement on Thursday evening and at the time of our departure on Saturday we still hadn’t received the replacement. The person at the desk on Thursday clearly did not want to find one so he said he would leave it for the night shift guy. Also had to get clean towels at the desk because there is no housekeeping service but every 4th day. Not sure we would stay here again or recommend to friends and family.

Room was nice, breakfast was good and well monitored, beds are comfortable, parking is good and close to doors. Pool table is a plus. Getting an ice bucket and ice before going to the room is a great idea. Large dispensers for soap, shampoo and conditioner keeps all of those tiny plastic bottles out of landfills. Loved, loved, loved the shower! It is spacious and really nice! All hotel rooms should have this. Who takes a bath in a hotel room anyway?

Never in my 60+ years, in all of my travels here and abroad, did I ever have to tell the front desk that we need clean towels put in the room while we’re gone for the day. I was shocked when we returned to the room in the evening when the beds weren’t made, used towels weren’t removed, trash cans not emptied and no clean towels! When I called the front desk I was told that I didn’t request this. I didn’t know I had to request normal hotel procedures. This is not a cheap Motel (who DO provide this service), this is a Hotel in the Hilton family. I did not expect clean sheets. Most hotels change them every 2 or 3 nights, depending on the hotel chain but Tru waits 4 nights before changing the sheets! Again, this is not a cheap motel. You have to pay for 5 nights before you get clean sheets after the 4th! They add $75 to your charge ‘in case’ you buy any sundries instead of charging you for what you buy like every other hotel. This is not a resort or cruise ship where you charge things to your room. Those above mentioned dispensers were almost empty and I was told they were out of them. I guess I was supposed to go buy my own supplies and still pay full price for the room. They didn’t think of having any of those small bottles on hand in case they ran out of dispensers? The person at the front desk was very snotty saying that I got a ‘good room’ because there was still a little soap in the dispenser by the sink. I will not be staying at a Tru hotel again if I can help it. This was the first and last time.
