TV service always going out, swim up room water too warm, misquotes were very terrible

The staff are unbelievably friendly. From the moment you check in, to the moment you leave you feel like they're incredibly happy to have you there! They even gave us a free bottle of prosecco and made the room all special for us, because we were celebrating our honeymoon! Honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience.

The special restaurants that you can go to for dinner are far too hot. This made the eating experience a bit unpleasant especially as you had to dress up for the restaurants. Sitting in a suit or dress in a hot restaurant isn't great. It made us want to finish our meal quickly and get back to the room rather than savour our meal and order more drinks or desert. Definitely would recommend in them adding more air conditioning to those restaurants.

the app wasn’t up to date so activities and meal availability wasn’t right- Wi-Fi was intermittent. checkin was at 3 but our room wasn’t ready till 5:30. the resort was large but it is very restrictive on where you go.

Our visit to Ambar was absolutely incredible. It was our first trip to the DR, and we booked Ambar based on reviews, location, and also the pricing. We were blown away by the facility, and it far exceeded our expectations going in. The staff was absolutely amazing! We had Juan Carlo as our butler, and he was fantastic, and so friendly. The wait staff, housekeeping, grounds staff - were all friendly, kind, helpful, and eager to please. The drinks were good, the pool staff works so hard to make sure everyone is taken care of. The rooms were large, and clean - and the bed was comfortable - although next time I will request a pillow top. Food was great - we had really great experiences at most of the restaurants, but we did not try Limbo or the Japanese steakhouse. Overall - we are already planning our next stay, and it was an incredible trip from start to finish.

I would suggest getting more chairs by the pool area - there are plenty of areas where more chairs could be put - or even take out the little wicker lounger chairs and add more pool chairs. We never had an issue getting chairs for the day - but that is because we were out early.

all seats at pool were taken by 7am and most of beach? it’s ridiculous. a lot of them were ‘saved’ and then not even occupied until after 12. it’s says on signs no reserving seats but clearly staff does not help with this. drink were terrible . pretty sure liquor is watered down . we were initially giving a ground floor room with an open toliet & shower ( a handicap friendly facility basically) which is great however it was me and my perfectly able mom?! so we had to use the toilet in front of each other ! asked to change after first night and we were accommodated but had to wait until 4:30 and move our own stuff- not very 5* and i still don’t understand why they gave us that room and never even asked if that was ok?!

We had an amazing holiday! The best all inclusive hotel, very friendly staff, very clean, so beautiful beach and pool area! Delicious food! Absolutely recommend!!!

We didn’t like the numerous sales pitch offerings @ resort. Unavailable or unreliable golf cart service to and from the restaurants which are at further away from the Amber resort. Birthday cake paid by my daughter never arrived at the restaurant we were having dinner and the next day we had to have the waiters @ breakfast buffet track the cake down where it was stored. Swim up pool towels had to be personally exchanged @ the main pool instead of being changed by the staff cleaning the room. In my opinion not 5 star service. Difficulty finding lounge chairs at the main pool.

too spread out. it was hard to find all of the amenities offered because they weren’t on Ambar but sister resorts. It wasn’t made clear when booking that you are sharing your beachfront place with the 3 sister resorts that are back away from the water. Other adults also came from the sister resorts to our adults only pool which further crowded. No sun loungers to be found after 10am. In true all inclusive style there is plenty of food but it is so-so quality (but I am a foodie)

Staff, food, accommodations & grounds were all exceptional.

Staff at the coffee house were extremely unfriendly. Tipped very well on my first 3 visits & never even received a thank you... very cold service. This was the one & only place we received this kind of service... everywhere else was above excellent.

the beach wasn’t as great as the pictures ( a lot of sharp rocks ) the a la cart restaurants were below average (specially the Greek and the Japanese and the Mediterranean )

I loved the staff, multiple onsite restaurants, swim out pool rooms, access to sister properties, food (the eggplant at breakfast is a go-to and the steakhouse restaurant was a dream) and view! I’ve never experienced an all inclusive team like at Bahia! A special thanks to Andres (from experience team) Carlos (from staff), Weindy (from restaurant staff) and Enny, Yanothan (from the bar); they kept the drinks flowing and the party going. The staff looked out for us as many of my party didn’t speak Spanish. It was the best trip of year.

The hotel is mainly for an older demographic and the activities reflected that during the day. The room smelled like paint during our entire stay.

The property was good and has everything you need during your stay

The staff are not super welcoming and sometimes seem rude. I’ve also requested 4 months before my arrival to have some decorations for my husband’s birthday but nothing was made even if I reminded them. So I wouldn’t recommend for the service

the property is massive! but there are always little carts you can jump on to take you around. we loved how you could use all the amenities for all the hotels on the resort property. Ambar was on the breach and it was beautiful, the pool is right next to the beach and a great snack restaurant to walk into for drinks and buffer food to bring to the pool or beach. it was great value for your money considering it’s all your meals, drinks, and entertainment included.

the only thing we didn’t like was that you have to reserve your dinners on the app. the app would t let us log until we checked at the resort. so almost all the nicer restaurants on the property were booked which was a huge bummer. also, the plumbing smells. we had to put a towel on the shower drain and the toilet closet door shut or the room would smell like dirty baby diapers. lastly, our giant rain fall shower head kept falling on us while we were showering.
