Great central location.

Was a little dated and expensive compared with other stays.

Lots of tour groups come through this hotel, which by itself is not a bad thing. But all that traffic showed in the wear and tear to our room: cabinet doors and drawers closed unevenly, furniture was scarred, and bedside lamp was coming apart. Bed wasn't uncomfortable, but it was noticeably furrowed. Poor lighting in sleeping/living area contributed to an overall dreariness, especially after dark. Room and amenities satisfied guests' basic needs, but there wasn't much lux. Nor were there any USB charging ports. Reasonably-priced clothes washers and dryers were a plus.

Breakfast was served in a lovely space by friendly and helpful staff. But the food was disappointing. Limited offerings (not a single piece of fresh fruit), hot food was tepid at best, and very dry bread was the only gluten-free pastry option.

The bathroom is very old - only one bath with a shower curtain and a fixed shower. Moreover, the bathroom was not really clean. There was also no toilet brush. There was no real table in the whole room where, for example, you could have worked on your laptop.

great location and very close to everything. Short on cleaning staff so no room cleaning but desk staff were great at helping you with extra products you may have needed.

very hard to get into restaurants especially when one was only open sporadically. Room was very stuffy as no air con on the first hot day.

It is obvious that the lack of staff is affecting the hotel and the whole of Te Anau. Rooms not ready and unable to be serviced, restaurant could not serve for hours due to lack of staff. They were trying really hard but could not cope.

Stepping back into the 1990s, needs a renovation, WiFi in the rooms is awful, please change the shower heads, fridge wasn’t working, get some lamps

Accomodation was traditional old fashioned but well maintained, clean and tidy. Very large Hotel and obviously in it's day was well built. Would be a large scale operation to modernise. Most people are only staying a night or 2 so it's adequate. Staff super friendly. Breakfast was yum, traditional buffet. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Gateway to Milford Sound region. We are grateful we stayed the night. Long day to drive back to Queenstown after Milford Sound. Found great restaurant - The Fat Duck. Very popular. Suggest booking

Just update overtime. After covid probably just thankful to have customers and staff to operate it.
