The cottage was beautiful with amazing views. it was only a few minutes by car from town and a great stop over for Milford sound. highly recommend this beautiful home.

it was very cold on arrival, but the hosts lit the slow combustion fire and the air con and heated towel rails made the home warm and cosy.

Loved staying at this immaculate lovely cottage. The hosts were more than welcoming and very friendly and helpful. The added touches of a warm lit fire, a handy breakfast basket and beautiful fresh roses were an appreciated extra touch. The furniture and bedding is very comfortable and being away from town is great - it’s only a few minutes drive away. Would definitely recommend Ian and Sally’s place.

really amazing location in a beautifully appointed cottage. we had such a lovely stay, watching birds and enjoying the peace, while being just 5 minutes from Te Anu

If I could give it 10/5 stars, I would. This is probably the best accommodation I’ve stayed in for 3 weeks. The cottage is serene, the hospitality by Ian & Sally was great (they provided 6 free range eggs, complimentary) and the place was so comfortable, spacious and clean. Ducks, birds and even rabbits can be seen (if you’re quick enough!). The views was majestic and I wished I stayed at this place longer than just two nights.

Remember to close window before night hits or you’ll get loads of flies in as they are attracted to the lights

for keen birders this place is wonderful. Ian and his wife have created a perfect bird reserve with Harriers over the front lawn and Baillon's Crakes in the lake side 20 m from the front deck

the property is welcoming, clean and homely gorgeous view of the lake from the bedrooms and lounge such a quick drive into town quick, friendly communication when booking and contacting the property the owners have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable : fresh flowers on the table on arrival home baked shortbread biscuits eggs and milk in the fridge full kitchen setup including things that are usually overlooked like olive oil for cooking, tea towels, garbage bags, coffee machine, teas, sugar, a compost bin, full bottle of dishwashing liquid and not little sachets and dishwasher tablets, washing powder etc a weber bbq extra towels electric blankets playing cards a welcome book with local restaurants and activities

Spacious, comfortable, quiet, private, spectacular views. Everything works, bed super comfy. Good wifi, lovely hosts.

We love the scenery from the deck and the sounds of the birds chirping and other sounds of nature coming from the marsh ponds. Love the ducks. We appreciate having the fresh eggs from the farm. It is a charming cottage.

Cottage 45deg. South is a real gem. Absolutely fantastic. Great location, quiet, handy to Te Anau shops and restaurants. Extremely clean and comfortable, space galore and fantastic views. Could not find fault with anything. Would not stay anywhere else.

Can not think of anything we didn’t like.

Very scenic location and quality accommodation, immaculately presented and clean. The kitchen was well equipped with some lovely shortbread and very good hot chocolate sachets. The living area was fitted with comfortable furnishings and a huge TV screen with an SD card port that allowed us to view our photos taken over the past four and a half weeks. The bed was comfortable and allowed us to take in an alpine view each morning. Unfortunately the weather was not conducive to allow us to take full advantage of the outside area but would add to the enjoyment of a glass of wine should it be feasible to sit there. Ian was affable and allowed us to store the bulk of our luggage while we went on a Doubtful Sound overnight cruise. Would highly recommend 45 degrees South.
