Perfect for our requirements

Nothing really

No contact due to covid requirements but keys given over and directed to which villa we were staying in very clean

I didn't have breakfast there. I liked the location & the facilities it had available, like a kitchen & a pool

I didn't like how I had to leave my car parked outside, it would of been good if they had parking bays near your accommation & shade

Loved the general feel of this place. It felt like home. It had great character with all the shells and other marine items in the rooms and on the verandah. I loved the place straight-up. Also loved that there were only a few apartments. It had a lovely setting too, with rooms looking out over the pool and rainforest, and was only a quick walk to the beach. The apartment had everything you'd need and I was really happy, even recommending this place to others on the phone, until I went to bed and a light outside stayed on all night...hence my rating of "fair". I couldn't sleep properly!

There were two lights on the verandah outside my room - a fluorescent and another light. This isn't the case with other apartments, where blissfully dark. I phoned the caretakers, who were apologetic but told me they did not know how to turn them off. I'd already looked everywhere for switches but could find none. I was staying there because I was getting up at about 4am for an ultra running race, so this was definitely not good race prep for me! I stood the couch mattress up against part of one big window, moved to a single bed a bit further back in the room and hung the double bed sheets over another big window. It helped a little but it was still very bright. I was very disappointed because before nighttime I was absolutely loving this accommodation. I'm hoping this is read and the light problem is sorted out. It was obviously already known about - I'm thinking it'd be pretty easy to fix!

A very special find with a lovely outlook and a topical feel. Lovely hosts and welcoming. We will certainly be coming back.

Great location, nice and close to the beach

The location to the beach was close. The location of the Villas was close to everything, the shops, cafes & the beach. We didn't hear anything apart from the birds and there were seats outside where we stayed that just made us feel like we were in our own little slice of paradise. All these things were great but what made it the best experience for us was Peter and the team. Nothing was to much trouble and his local knowledge and contacts helped us with our needs to explore the reef & rain forest and have such an unforgettable experience. Couldn't recommend higher staying at Villa Marine.

Location, the pool big but messy

We stayed in 4 places in the neighbourhood over one month (May/June ‘21) so have comparison. Villa Marine was the most expensive (paid $280 per night, $60 more per night comparing to the second one), yet the lowest value. Small kitchenette, no dishwasher, washing machine and dryer for the complex and extra $7 per use. Shared iron, only one, for complex. No mop and vacuum cleaner in the apartment. Dishes and cutlery simple and not washed well. Low quality pots, the pan was sticking/ burning food. Simple old school furniture. Small TV, aerial channels only. Blankets felt old and not fresh. Cockroaches, insects, ants, overnight bites. Car parking outside the complex. Property manager approaches us privately couple days after we left to pay for a scratch on a laminate kitchen bench we didn’t make. This “holiday accomodation” didn’t make us feel good during and after our stay.

The atmosphere of the place was very relaxing

The external lights illuminated the room all night and made sleeping difficult. Thinker blackout curtains would have done the job.
