Birgit and Peter were very friendly, helpful, made us feel welcome and at home. Lovely breakfast!

Walking distance to central Windhoek, a well-protected court was available for our parking, the apartment was big with two sleeping rooms, living room, kitchen, bath and separate toilet and well equipped with oven, stove, microwave, laundry machine, etc. A mall with some supermarkets and snack places is across the street.

upon entering the room, an awkward check off a list of all items present in the apartment was made, e.g. tools and plates in all drawers of the kitchen, count of pillows and towels etc, which had to be signed. On the wall was a list of prices for all these items if broken or lost. I cannot judge if such practice is necessary for longer-time rentals, but it is a bit unusual from my experience for a two-night stay.

The simolicity of some of the furniture the beddings theres definitely room for improvement.

The rooms are on one side of a secure courtyard. No lifts- but no problem for us. A large, spacious apartment with all mod. cons and comfortable seating. We would be happy to stay there for some time but probably not for much eating in. There is a shopping centre with food and cafes across the road and a KFC very nearby. Pretty good security. They also gave us advice regarding walking around town. Well sited for everything we wanted to see.

The main issue was that we asked for and were promised a room away from the road - but then we were not given one. So do not trust their promises. In fact, noise was not a significant problem on the top floor - but that's not the point. You have to accept that it is in a (mostly fairly quiet) part of a city and there are generator or air conditioning sounds around which are noticeable at night. We didn't have significant problems with insects but I did find 2 bites on the second night so keep the windows closed. It is, of course, possible that they were not bitten at the Guest House. I probably wouldn't undertake to do any significant cooking there, either, as the amount of equipment was pretty limited.
