The location and swift check in

The miscommunication between the person who confirmed the booking and the person checking us in. The rooms on the site gave us the impression that all rooms were equally refurbished. One of the rooms was not refurbished like the others and was not close to the other booked rooms. We would have been happy to pay a supplement to get an upgraded room (despite the impression we had from the site) but it was too late at check in. The mattresses in all beds booked were overly used because they collapse in the middle with a persons weight. The cot was not readily available upon check in. Once provided, we realized it was a safety hazard to our infant. The mattress was merely the thickness of a one inch cushion which folded onto the infant when he was placed in the cot, risking possible suffocation. The property is not served by lift. Breakfast is served at a cafe which is a 10-15min walk from the property. The person serving us seemed like she was in a rush to take our order, despite the lack of variety.

We had some delay with check in time, however, the host was very caring and helped us to enter after checkin time. Beautiful room, very comfy bed, quiet air conditioner, some water. We enjoyed it!

It was nicely decorated. Shower was nice and good water pressure. Was clean. Water provided.

The air conditioning didn’t work. It was cooler outside at night! The host lady came and said it was ‘fine’ but it wasn’t working at all. We were sweating inside the room, it made the stay unpleasant.

The apartment was beautiful, and located in a lovely area of town. We had an enjoyable stay, the host was very kind and let us store our bags the next day until our bus.

It was a bit noisy outside... Just one night. It seemed like a large truck was loaded between midnight and 01:00

We had a bit of issues with the checkin as the phone number in Booking isn't correct and we couldn't reach anyone via email either. Once we arrived, we found a second phone number at the door and finally reached someone. The lady came to the apartment within 30min, so it was alright but could have been avoided by adding the correct phone number here.

The worst mattress I've ever slept on! The pictures of the room presented on the app have nothing to do with the room itself. There was a strange smell in the room. The breakfast is basically junk food. The TV was not working properly No sound isolation of the house. People and cars passing by the house seemed to be inside the house.

Don't go to this place if you're travelling by car. Parking is next to impossible. The cleaning staff has access to the apartment and comes in and out at will to get their supplies. Breakfast was less than adequate. The booking site is very misleading.

Absolute little gem. Well thought out layout to account for the average normal needs of a traveler. Loved the decor & warm feeling of being at home. The bed was comfy, shower ample, and room just the right size. For being between two very busy streets in Taranto, it was super quiet. This will be my new spot as I'm always in Taranto for business/pleasure.

The key-holder/check-in person was a little overwhelmed, and in my opinion was a little prejudice too. The whole time I attempted speaking in native Italian but she refused to acknowledge and would respond in not the best English (I was actually trying to help her out because she was struggling). Things then ironed out when my husband started speaking in Italian, and she apologized again and said that the phone made it hard for her to understand. *insert eyeroll here*. After waiting at the front of the facility for a minute or two she then swings by and suggests that I had read her messages incorrectly as I were supposed to be in a different location. Instead of arguing after being on the road for hours, I just opened the app and scrolled through the messages to correct her. At that same time the woman who she should have been telling this to walked up and introduced herself. The key-holder then suggested that she got confused because we were both foreign women. Sure...whatever that means because until then, no one presented their passports, and I'm actually both Italian & American. After being apologetic, and explaining that she was overwhelmed, she went ahead to nominate where she thought I was from (based on popular Italian stereotypes of people of color). Again, I corrected her and she profoundly apologized. Now, the issue is a slight case of ignorance, which happens EVERYWHERE, BUT when coming to the service industry, and especially if you're opening up doors to foreigners you need to have culturally sensitive people working for you. This DEFINITELY would not deter me from coming back because I loved it, but I hope the owners who contract this service company is made aware so they can make improvements.

Location is good close to the old city. Recommendations from the staff on restaurants were really great.

The bed was quite uncomfortable with the springs pressing in to your back all night... Breakfast not fresh, everything prepackaged.

The breakfast is disappointing as it's basically a Nespresso capsule, a croissant and supermarket stuff in the room. It shouldn't be advertised as breakfast. Noise from the street (thin windows) The pictures on booking are misleading as it suggests common areas and proper breakfast.

The price/quality ratio is just great. The room was super clean and smelling of flowers. Strong wi-fi, room and kitcher well equipped and stunning welcoming. The lady who welcomes guests is absolutely great, kind and available to provide any information you need. The location is also very good, central and close to all shops and restaurants.
