It was at a great location with an amazing view. The food was perfect. We recommend to have the family dinner it is well worth the money. If you need it there is an option to wash your clothes in a washing machine for a good price.

There were only 3 toilets and showers for the whole homestay and sometimes we needed to wait for some time.

This rustic homestay in the middle of a bamboo forest was absolutely incredible! The soothing sound of the flowing stream next to the house made falling asleep and waking up an unforgettable experience. The beautiful scenery around the area included stunning mountains and friendly dogs and cats. Although the trek up to the cabin is steep, it's worth it for the breathtaking views. The space heater provided helped with the chilly weather, so make sure to dress warmly. While there are a couple of restaurants at the bottom of the hill, the available breakfast is a great option, and the family dinner is a must-try. Cookie was an amazing host and made our stay memorable. This was my favorite stay in Vietnam so far, and I can't wait to return when it's warmer. And thanks to the recommendation, checking out at night gave me more time to enjoy the area and order food and service even after check-out. Overall, this exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend this beautiful cabin in the bamboo forest.

Went in March . It rained in the morning but we decided to go ahead. We were a group of 5 and we chose the Buffalo trek. The decision to change into wellies was great due to the slippery mud and steep climbs up and down. The Hmong ladies that followed us were a great assistance on the slopes. One of them was 75 and another, 17, carrying a 10mth baby on her back whilst traversing the slopes. Lunch was yummy. We bought stuff from the ladies that walked with us all the way to lunch. It was not easy because of the wet trails and mud. You don’t have to but looking at the way they earn a living, it’s the least we could do for their efforts. The rice terraces were beautiful, we saw many animals and the guide was knowledgeable. Highly recommend but go the easy route if you want to chill and be clean. Much respect to the Hmong women who make a living this way. The house is basic but they have all amenities that you need and you meet a lot of friends

We had an amazing trekking tour - would highly recommend! We stayed at the buffalo house in the jungle, and they have links with many local sister guide so they can provide many kind of treks. Took us on great trekking trails and helped us understand a bit about life in Sapa. She was a wonderful tour guide and we couldn't speak more highly of her - very enthusiastic and knowledgable!. The house is small but we love it, that's enough for the stay in Sapa

Hmong sister house will be a stay that I remember forever. Lily helped organise some pretty memorable experiences, including Fansipan trek, a motorbike tour around the mountains including a stop at a waterfall, and just having family dinners with all of the staff/family & guests outside was pretty special. I truly got to relax and forget about reality, and I really hope to return one day soon. I stayed in a private room with private bathroom beside a garden, and slept peacefully every night :) And sometimes they have big cashback promotion, if you are lucky :)

I cannot recommend Lily and her Home-trek enough. She may be the friendliest person my wife and I have ever met, and She genuinely cared to give each guest a wonderful experience. She made sure to stop throughout the trek to point out different aspects of the area and their significance, which we would have otherwise simply walked past without considering. The walk itself is somewhat challenging at times, especially since we arrived right toward the end of a strong rainfall. Be prepared with shoes that you are fine to see totally caked in mud! All along the way, Lily and a few women from the Black Hmong minority helped us keep going through some of the more difficult parts of the trek. The views were just amazing. The entire time, I found myself in awe of the mountains, the rice fields, the river, the homes, the people, and the animals. Simply gorgeous. The homestay greatly exceeded our expectations. The family was very kind and served a wonderful family style meal. We had a very insightful conversation with the mother who owns the homestay, learning a great deal about what it means to live as a Black Hmong. The shower was powerful and hot, the rooms were spacious and cool. The beer was cold. The rice wine was flowing. Don’t drink too much if you have more trekking to do the next day (Speaking from experience here. Ouch.). We wished we had booked one more day just so we could continue spending time with Lily in the mountains. This is a must-do experience if you are visiting northern Vietnam.

My fiancé and I had an incredible experience doing the Buffalo trek with Lily and at the homestay. Each part of the two days was well-planned out, and Lily was very good at letting us know what to expect. We had never been to Vietnam, let alone a small city like Sapa, so we didn’t know quite what we had signed up for. In the end, we were so happy we did it! Lily is a part of the Hmong community and is a true local. Apparently, as tourism in Sapa has increased, more Vietnamese people (as opposed to Hmong or other local minority groups) have been opening homestays in this beautiful mountain city. Lily is very passionate about supporting the local minority villages and truly wants to educate tourists on local customs and traditions. I felt very privileged to have such a knowledgeable guide who spoke English to really give us great insight into the local culture, history of the land, and differences in customs of each minority group as well as their relationship with the Vietnamese people. The trek we went on was moderate-difficult intensity. The first day was longer and more difficult (10 miles) and the second day was moderate intensity and 5 miles long. Lily knows many routes to get to the homestay, so he can modify the difficulty level of the trek depending on the people in the group. The views along the way were incredible and were absolutely worth the effort. The homestay is owned by a Hmong family who are very accommodating. Sometimes other people from outside of Airbnb stay there as well – for example, there was a group of ~10-12 college students that were staying there the same night. We all shared a delicious home-cooked dinner (the rice was from their own rice field), and every got along well. We were able to have a hot shower and facilities were clean (especially considering the home stay is in the countryside). Mosquito-nets for each bed were very useful! I HIGHLY recommend doing this trek/homestay for anyone visiting Vietnam!

The Buffalo tour is worth 6 stars. Lily is very knowledgeable, friendly, and fun. The trekking is beautiful (many views of the rivers, water buffalo, rice fields, bamboo forest, waterfall, etc) , and she has alternate routes depending on whether you’d like to hike a little or a lot each day. We did the longer trek the first day and the shorter the second day. The food both on the trek and at the home stay was the best food we’ve had in all of Vietnam (so far we have been in HCMC, Hanoi and Sa Pa). The home where you stay the night is also very wonderful and spacious, with delightful hosts. To anyone visiting Vietnam or having an interest in Hmong culture, I highly recommend!

Great location to explore the area around Sa Pa, a little further away from the main touris area. The family dinner is super tasty and a great way to meet the other guests. I did the hometrek and joined a group of others to do the buffalotrek. Both were very enjoyable and especially the buffalotrek went off the beaten path (as much as possible for Sa Pa). The room was basic but good value for money. Overall a nice experience.

Anything to do with the reception took some time. I didn't really mind it, but some people had to wait a very long time just to order breakfast, check out, ... So better not be in a hurry.
