This house was the perfect size for our family and it’s nestled in the beautiful neighborhood of Zephyr Heights. Super quiet and great views! I would have given this review 5 stars if it weren’t for a few details. Although I read through the description prior to booking, I overlooked that a/c and cable weren’t included. My excitement for our vacation allowed me to miss the fact that these items were omitted from the listing. 😬 Unfortunately, we took for granted that those items would be included. Upon arriving, we were greeted by a rather steep driveway. This was pictured in the listing, but we didn’t anticipate just how difficult it would be to get in and out with our car. Regardless of how we angled the car and how many times we tried. we scraped terribly each time. We don’t have a lifted 4x4 that would have made clearing this with ease and we were informed that street parking was not allowed and violators would be ticketed and/or towed. The hubby wasn’t happy! It was a bit toasty in the evening and without the a/c, we still weren’t comfortable sleeping with the windows open and only the master bedroom offers a ceiling fan. In the main living room, there is a television with multiple remote controls. Maybe 4? After fumbling around for quite a while, we were able to watch a late night Netflix movie through our own acct. There were no instructions offered and because of this, we first had the film without sound, then sound with the film, etc. until we finally figured it out. Everything appeared very clean throughout the home with the exception of some unsightly stains that were left on the master bedroom duvet cover and on the mattress protector sheet in the queen bedroom. I took it upon myself to wash these. Unfortunately, we didn’t notice the stain on the mattress protector sheet on the queen bed (not master bed) until the very last day when we stripped the beds to start a load. Gross! This is something that should not have been overlooked by housekeeping. However, upon checking out, it is stated in the instructions that if you have time to help out housekeeping, to please strip the beds and start a load of laundry. Depending on who the previous guests were, they maybe washed the sheets in cold? Maybe used very little detergent? None at all? Who knows. Regardless, the master duvet cover looked brand new but clearly had never been washed. I could tell, because, after I washed and dried it, it had wrinkles all over it that did not come out. It would have needed ironing or dry cleaning to have that crisp look . Prior to the wash, the duvet cover didn’t have a single wrinkle in it. This is how I knew it had never been washed. The mattress protector sheet in the other bedroom, with the unsightly stain, should just be replaced as it didn’t come out when I washed it. But issues such as these would be easily missed or overlooked by housekeeping when the responsibilities are left to the guests. Keep in mind, the checkout instructions only ask, and not require, guests to help out by starting a load of towels and/or sheets. Even though these small details could be bothersome to some, we fully enjoyed our stay in Lake Tahoe and will be making this an annual tradition for our family.

My husband, two sons and I came up for a few days of skiing. After having a bad experience at our last vrbo, it was such a wonderful surprise to come to this one. It was very clean. Everything was very well maintained as well. The sheets amd comforter were clean and well maintained. The kitchen had state of the art appliances and everything we could need. The furniture was comfortable and there were even lots of games, books and puzzles if one was inclined. The mgmt company - Vacasa- was very responsive and nice about any inquiries I had. The neighborhood was super quiet and friendly. My kids loved playing in the snow outside in the backyard. And best of all, Heavenly California ski resort was only 10 min away. Would definitely stay again!

The house was overall fine, but we had zero hot water after the first few hours (stayed 2 nights) and there was an AC unit / thermostat but it never worked. The bedding had several stains and overall did not feel very clean. The kitchen is well stocked. We also were automatically charged a pet fee even though we had no pets, and I tried contacting the property manager SEVERAL times to get this resolved and had to ultimately get them through VRBO to refund me the added fee. Also on VRBO the check out time was different than the check out time the property manager emailed us so we were very confused on our last morning. Overall probably wouldn't stay there again as there are better places to stay for the same cost.

We loved the location and functionality of the house. It had plenty of everything. Hope to come back.

It was very clean and spacious. Would stay there again.

First time being away for the fourth and it was a lot of fun!
