Walk to shops and restaurants. We hiked Russian Gulch and Jughandle state parks, enjoyed the play, Ripcord, across the street, Pt Arena almost full moon lighthouse tour and the dahlias at the Botanical gardens.

This was our second stay at the magical tower. Could not have been better looked after. We will return!

The water tower was in a lovely neighborhood with a quick walk to restaurants, shops and the beach. The garden was peaceful and beautiful with lovely flowers and birds. Would stay here again.

We had a beautiful stay! Very nice owners! It was Extremely clean, comfortable, and quiet! Gorgeous garden, and love walking the neighborhood and Headlands. We love the great restaurants too! We have been visiting Mendocino for over 50 years, it’s magical!

The property was very inviting and comfortable to stay in. We enjoyed morning coffee on the front patio overlooking the garden area, and evening views of the sunset from the roof deck. What a great base camp to launch treks to the botanical gardens or Cabrillo lighthouse. And it was ideally located for easy walking around the village for shopping and meals. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this place to anyone interested in something a little out of the ordinary and with a lot of character to boot!

I’ve stayed many places in Mendocino over the last 10 years, but never so close to the village. This converted water tower is unique, quiet, immaculate and centrally located. It’s very quiet, the views are lovely and the view from the top is breathtaking

We loved our second stay at the water tower. It is truly a unique experience, offering not only a clean and comfortable space, but an incredible garden, epic panoramic views, and friendly hosts. Do not hesitate to book.

Great location with charming garden. We enjoyed the community theater across the street and easily walked everywhere in town as well as through the Mendocino headlands. Note that the bathroom is on the first floor, bedroom on the second. Owners live next door and greeted us upon arrival with recommendations for restaurants and things to do.

There were two of us ladies and we loved the location of this home. We could walk into the town for meals, drinks, ocean view and close drive to hikes. What a beautiful town with friendly people and yummy eateries. Hope to return in the near future. Easy communication with host.

We returned to the Watertower after many years and found it unchanged and delightful as ever. The new owners were very welcoming and told us about the annual Halloween street fair in the evening. There was an amazing troupe of circus acrobats and lots of children (and adults!) in costume. We had a week of great restaurants, ocean walks, and conversation with friends. Would definitely go back!

We stayed a week in this very unique converted 3-story water tower. All very charming and cozy, with a view into the garden with ample of flowers form the first floor and ocean view from the higher levels. Close to everything, well equipped and very friendly and helpful owners. We would love to return!

We loved our extended stay at the Mendocino Tower. Simple accomodations with everything we needed. The owners were right next door and were lovely and helpful. Mendocino is a bit of paradise and we hope to return and would definitely stay at the Mendocino Tower again.

We had an amazing time at the water tower, and made great memories as a family. The location was perfect, being centered within walking distance of the coast, restaurants, shops, grocery, etc. The tower itself was incredibly unique, clean, with epic views, and we loved the magical garden just out the front door. The owners were very kind and helpful. We hope to return in the near future.

I have wanted to live in Mendocino since i was a child. I had that dream come true! Staying at the Tower for over a month let me see all that was wonderful in Mendocino and the areas nearby. The Tower allowed me to be a "resident" of the township and really get to know the area. Walking the Headlands daily at sunset...the shops...Fort Bragg and all the beaches!! The Tower was well equipped and the owners were nearby if we needed any help. My partner loves to BBQ and magically...there was a BBQ! The views were outstanding and we felt every need we had was fulfilled and then some. We hope to return within 6 months...5 weeks was not enough!! The Water Tower is the most beautiful property I have stayed at in Mendocino. It is simply the best. The inside space is charming and so well-equipped, you will be so comfortable you won't want to leave. The view from the top of the tower is amazing and the location is perfect ! The owners next door are wonderful. Book it, if you can !

Wow! This is a fascinating place to spend Thanksgiving with family. Right in Mendocino. Quarter mile to spectacular beach. We had an A+ time.

We loved our return to the water tower! We had stayed 11 years ago when our kids were little and this time with 2 teens it was even better. Mom & Dad took the bedroom with the Queen bed and one teen took the twin on the top floor while the other had the very comfortable pull out couch in the living room. And there was room for our crate-sleeping dog as well. The hosts are very responsive and accommodating while also allowing plenty of privacy. Even during these COVID times most restaurants are open for take out and a few have outdoor dining. We love staying here! Such a clever design and had everything we could have asked for.

What a perfect spot to fully enjoy the town of Mendocino! Walking distance to everything and then a super quiet retreat at the house in the garden. The views from the top were epic and the quick replies from the property manager for the little extras we needed made the stay even better.

If you can stay in a charming Water Tower, you should do so at least once in your life.

The beds were all comfy, but we didn't use the top one because no one wanted to go up and down the ladder in the middle of the night, but it was fun to climb up to the roof and see the coast and the entire town. Really, we just loved this house, even through the awkwardness and (very mild) inconvenience of Covid restrictions. (Mendocino is a very careful and responsible town in this regard, as were the owners.) Last note, the owners kindly put out an extension cord for me so that I could charge my electric car overnight, which was a huge help.

A truly spectacular and unique place to stay. Could not recommend it more.

We enjoyed our stay at the water tower house and found the place to be comfortable and in a in nice setting. It has a private yard for the dogs and a patio looking onto the garden which we did not use due to weather. The kitchen is roomy and the bathroom has a shower only. This is the first time the new owners rented the place and as such they are working on a few improvements which will make the place even nicer. They had just installed a new couch with pullout which is great and comfortable. There are 3 levels with the upstairs being a bedroom and then a loft with a ladder staircase up to a kids room. From there you can go up one more level to the tower roof which has 360 views of the ocean and the town which is a great place for a photo and to take in Mendocino. There were a couple of issues with some clanging pipes for the hot water and a few ants which the new Owners are working on fixing so it should be great for the future. We met the Owner who lives next door and they were very pleasant. We love Mendocino and this is a great option being walking distance to the entire little town.

We had the best vacation ever! Wind and rain did not lessen the fun of staying in this magical place! A short walk to the bluffs, waves and beaches we could climb to. We hid in caves watching the surf and seals go by! The hosts were the best! If we are lucky, we can return!!! The view was awesome and each floor was special in its charm!

All beds in the house were good except for the sofa bed that should be replaced if listed to sleep 5. Very uncomfortable.

My fiancé and I absolutely love the tower! I have been coming to Fort Bragg/ Mendocino since I was born and this is one of my most favorite places to stay! It is so clean, and cozy. The location could not be any better, its close to the local grocery store, and downtown Mendocino! I would definitely recommend the Tower to anyone looking for a perfect vacation getaway!

We really enjoyed this lovely retreat. The view from the widow’s walk is amazing and the garden is wonderful. Wendy and Robert are friendly and accommodating. Also great location. The only missing thing is maybe another chair or 2 for dining. I would highly recommend this charming place.

Sweet little place, great location! The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because we had a serious problem with ants which was a pain! I think this is probably a problem in this area because of the moisture! Also, we did fine, but if you have knee problems the stairs might be a problem, there are three stories! The owners are kind and attentive!

So glad we got to stay here for our annual mom/daughter getaway! The water tower is much roomier that it appeared in the photos- there was plenty of room for all of us to hang out together or find our own space to relax. We can’t wait to come back!
