The manager was very accommodating and provided a very suitable takeaway breakfast one morning as I had to leave early.

Amazing gem of a hotel with a great restaurant downstairs. Checkin was efficient and personal, which was a nice touch. Room was clean, warm, and well equipped. Ate in the restaurant for dinner. Set menu on a Tuesday which was a little disappointing as I'd seen the a la carte menu on the internet and really wanted to to try it, however the set menu was delicious, and great value for money (although no choice, so good job I liked what was on the menu!)
All the staff were great, so friendly and welcoming. Bed really comfy and I slept well.
Breakfast was delicious again, good selection to pick from. I had salmon and poached eggs. Perfectly cooked.
Parking available on the street outside free after 6pm until 8am. I think there was another carpark nearby if you need to park longer than overnight. Will definitely be back when I'm in the area.

Parking not great outside the property and there was a very early HGV delivery to Farmfoods/ Iceland next door at 07:00hrs.

We had a very warm welcome to this small family run hotel in central Chard. This continued throughout our stay and excellent evening meal in the restaurant… breakfast was equally delicious 😋

The owners and staff are amazing. The food in the restaurant is delicious and our room was really clean and comfortable. Chard is an excellent base to travel around Devon, Dorset and Somerset

Staff were so very kind and helpful when we arrived late and tired after a long journey and car incident. Came out to advise on parking, carried bags to room, friendly and smiley. Room was clean and bed was comfy, everything we needed was supplied. Breakfast was really good, tasty and freshly cooked, and was served early so that we could dash off to get the car repaired. Such kindness in our time of need!

Last minute booking, host, rooms and breakfast all great. We also had a set evening meal at the hotel It was a lovely 3 course Chinese. Couldn't fault the place.

The hosts made us very welcome and could'nt do any more for us. They were very tentative. The breakfast was at a high standard and the fruit was very fresh. The room was spacious, clean and relaxing.

The breakfast choice was very varied and cooked fresh when you sat down at your table. The service received was very good as well. Staff were friendly and attentive without being in the way. My wife and I were visiting family and spent a lot of time at the hotel but there were no rules about staying out between certain hours and we were able to come and go as we pleased.
to be totally honest there was nothing to complain about except perhaps the car park. It was not easy to find and very limited.

Our room wasn't made up-apparently we should have put a notice on door "please tidy room" but we weren't told this!
