Enjoyed watching the lobster boats and activities on Muscongus bay. Beautiful sunrises. Cottage was as described. Cozy and comfortable. The host was friendly but not interfering. Would recommend to friends and stay again. Thank you for a pleasant visit to Maine!

This was a great place to stay especially for my ADD husband who enjoyed watching all the lobster boats coming in and out as well as talking with the local men at the wharf. We had fun on the kayaks and also searching for lighthouses and going to museums! The cottage had a fully functioning kitchen so we were able to prepare all our own meals. The hostess was wonderful and immediately responded to any needs that we had and was very accomodating.

The location is superb -- just gorgeous. The cabin is as described and had everything we needed and more. (I suppose we could have used more powerful wifi, but this was minor compared to everything else.) The hosts were very helpful, accommodating, and friendly and we just enjoyed the whole experience there.

This is our second stay at John and Melanie's cabin. We enjoyed the short walk to the seafood co op. I also had fun swimming off the dock . The kayaks are fun and easily accessible. The view is incredible. Melanie and John are the perfect hosts who are very friendly, helpful and willing to make sure your stay is comfortable. If we are lucky enough ,to return to Maine, we will definitely book again.

This humble, rustic, cozy cottage was the perfect get away for me - away from congestion and noise of a city. Beautiful location. Many forms of entertainment in the area, with great recommendations from the owner. Owners are nice folks! Loved this place!

We enjoyed our week in Melanee's and John's cottage. We got an education about lobster fishing: watching the lobster boats leave in the early morning and return at night. And we bought lobsters right from their dock. Melanee and John were responsive to our questions and told us a lot about the peninsula. The cottage was a perfect size for the two of us. We had a great week.

We really enjoyed this little cottage for our week long stay. We were out most of the time, but it served as a very nice home base. We really loved taking the kayaks out and were fortunate enough to see a bunch of seals out in the lake. Melanee was an excellent hostess, checking in via text a few times throughout the week, but mostly gave us our space.

This is a small rustic cabin with a great view of a small working lobster wharf and tidal river. Access to kayaks was huge plus as was the dockside seafood eatery only steps down the road. The owners were friendly and helpful when needed but nonintrusive. This is a great place for watching birds and seals and day trips to nearby towns and attractions. Can't beat the Maine coast.

Great cabin to explore mid-coast region. Nice view of the bay out the main window. Very friendly host. Would go back.

We love cabins and stay in cabins all the time on vacation. we even own one of our own. here's what we loved about this one: 1. super comfy and well-equipped place. 2. toasty in the november (which is when we came.) 3. very responsive host. 4. such a fun area to poke around in, all within 60 minute drives. (check out the great hiking resource book at the cabin). bremen and bristol are such beautiful parts of maine. not as built up and mcmansiony as other parts of the state. areas we especially loved: la verna preserve - amazing beautiful rocky coast hike ; pemaquid point when it's windy -- SO dramatic; ocean walk in boothbay; audobon hog island; kayaking in the back yard. 5. huge windows that face out on the water with such beautiful light, (the pictures on the website the site don't do it justice.) 6. fire pit. be prepared for a a funky bathroom with no solid door between the bedroom. glad to hear melanee's planning on adding a ventilation system. that will make the cabin even more perfect. we had a great time!

We really enjoyed the peaceful setting. Watching the local lobster fisherman was so interesting. We even saw several seals from the cottage. Always important to me is a comfortable bed, which it had. I would recommend the cottage for a pleasant stay away from it all but within driving distance of many great places.

The owner lives next-door if you had any problems they were right there if they even brought lobster right to our doorstep it was wonderful

Posts were very hospitable and welcoming. Location was spectacular with a very nice ocean view. Cabin was comfortable and we very much enjoyed using the supply kayaks in the nearby area.

Wonderful cottage, spectacular views,Great hosts.A lobster pound within walking distance. My only regret is not booking two weeks.

1. Hard to find because address was listed as 312, but was actually 316 2. Were literally down the driveway and they didn't bother to speak until 3rd day when she told us to move our vehicle to a different parking spot 3. Front door didn't lock from inside 4. Wiring was so old in the house that all appliances plugged into 2-pronged outlets, and our standard 3-pronged items were incompatible 5. The microwave would go for 30 seconds (at the most) then trip the circuit and flip off. 6. There was rat poop in the dresser drawer, spiders in the kitchen sink every morning, and a catapillar that crawled up the bathroom sink 7. The shower was a tiny and very flimsy. 8. The lighting was horrible, except for at the crack of dawn when the sun came up and there were no curtains to block the light in the main living area. The flimsy curtains in the bedroom were are joke. 9. The floor was not level and if you dropped things, they literally rolled down the floor. 10. There was one (1) roll of toilet paper for a 7 night stay. We asked for more and after 2 hours had to walk up the driveway to get it from the owner's son. 11. The home is next to a working fishing area and loud diesel trucks literally started arriving in the next drive at 4:30 a.m. 12. The ceilings were so low that when we got dressed our hands scraped the bedroom ceiling.

Simple, rustic cabin located on the coast of Maine. Beautiful location with water views/active lobster boats. A very peaceful place. Melanee and her husband were super hosts and went out of their way to make our stay special. Both recommended things to do in the area. They had kayaks for us to borrow which was really nice. If you are planning a stay and want to tour other parts of Maine, do your homework for travel times- the direct route often skirts sea inlets, making day trips time consuming; there are no short cuts unless you have a boat. Wifi was strong if you need to use it. Hard to pick a favorite activity - it was all enjoyable. For me, I especially enjoyed early morning walks and being able to read a book at the cabin with a view of the water. Thank you Melanee and John. We had a lovely vacation.

This is the best little cottage you could hope for - the pictures do not do this place justice! I spent every night in this cozy cottage grilling dinner and every morning and evening looking out at the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets. With working lobster boats in the water, this place could not be more idyllic. Fantastic hiking nearby, kayaks provided, and the most responsive and friendly host you could ask for. I loved my stay! Would definitely stay again.
