Excellent views, big room. Good breakfast. Free parking
The hotel in general is very very very old. The indoor swimming pool was cold. The furniture is old fashioned.

Located high on the cliff with great views. Great base for exploring Madeira and for hiking, if having a car available. Large studio rooms with kitchen (mine with balcony and ocean views). Good breakfast and very good dinner buffet (I booked half board for a very competitive price).
Limited parking spaces (as almost everywhere on Madeira)

the view
old room with very old fornitures. no everyday cleaning. apartment completely empty (no soap, no salt, no brush etc). the swimming pool is not heated so the water it is very cold. the breakfast was not acceptable for a 4 star hotel, absolutely no sweet breakfast and only americano coffee (no espresso, no cappuccino etc).
in general the hotel should be on for half of the price (don’t trust in the 4 star).

Older hotel which is spacious and tranquil but a little tired.
Parking in the evenings at hotel fills up quickly so you need to park up hill at nearby overflow space which makes morning check out a challenge.

the views are incredible and the staff is super nice
rooms were dated

the hotel is old and has not been renovated in ages. there is a strange high pitched noise from outsides machines. the spa did not provide any treatments. the gym is hilarious, very old machines and a very confined little space. I opted not to use it at all. it’s like a time travel back to the 80ies. I don’t understand how it’s supposedly a four star hotel. I wouldn’t even give it one.

Great buffe breakfast and dinner. Very quiet area at the end of the road.
A bit distant location... Rental car was needed. There is of course shuttle service etc.
PARKING SPACE VERY limited

The view is the only positive about this place
This hotel is not of 4 star standard, it is more akin to 2 star and perhaps 3 for the view of the Atlantic.
There was no food available to buy in the middle of the day- the nearest place is 20min walk up hill from the hotel the receptionist advised.
The dinner is a buffet style which is reminiscent of a school canteen.
I had booked for 2 nights but left the morning after 1 night in this place.
The room was large but very cold at night.
There was no guest information in the room apart from a list of things to not do, these included do not have a Bath.
I would advise not to stay here unless you want a caravan park feel and have a car to get in and more importantly.. Get out.

Meals good, variety a bit limited (but few guests @ that time). Excellent view, nice quiet location. Large comfy room with good kitchen I didn't need. Maria on reception helpful.
The quiet location, 500m above the ocean, won't suit everyone. The walk down to Paul do Mar is a delight, but you must be fit. The Levada Nova da Calheta is more than 20min walk away.

Spacious room, cooking facilities if needed and views that were just incredible. Shuttle bus to the marina
No shuttle bus every day.

Great location away from the masses and with good walking. Great pools. Lovely views - especially in one room looking ways. All very comfortable and nice big rooms.
In the end they did a decent job of sorting dinner for my partner who can't eat garlic and is vegetation. Would have been even better if they had got this right from day one - it had been promised in advance and on arrival but took two evenings and a bit of a discussion about whether some broccoli was an acceptable dinner or not. But to their credit they turned it around eventually.

Beautiful ocean view from the large terrace. Spacious apartment, everything well functioning, comfortable beds. Friendly and helpful staff.
Breakfast and even more dinner were cheap but average.

Service, quick responses and help on all kind of requests.
For breakfast could be more vegetables (cucumbers, paprika, tomatoes etc) on a permanent offer.

The view was lovely and the room was clean. The staff was friendly.
The dinner food was of low quality. Although we had it included we started to eat out.
And in 2022, it’s crazy to offer most room without Wi-Fi, in particular when saying nothing about that flaw online. Not a good surprise for parents to teenagers..

The location is superb. The hotel situated on a dramatic cliff and the surrounding nature and villages and very beautiful and authentic. We loved combining this with a stay over in Funchal as it’s the perfect way to discover the West part of the Island. Even though we had 2 separate beds instead of one large bed, the beds were very spacious and comfortable.
The facilities are quite old and it’s clear the hotel has not had an upgrade in quite some years. Everything works and is clean and price quality was it’s good. The food was quite industrial and not really to our liking. The breakfast was simple (basically fruit, egg, bread and cheese) and not of great quality (not bad either). The dinner was most disappointing for us, with 4 different buffet options all with very dry meat or fish, the deserts were all extremely artificial. Although we had dinner included for 2 nights, we only ate in the hotel once. On Madeira you can eat good quality fresh food for very low prices, so it’s not advisable to eat at the hotel.

The location is very good for hikes.
Food was ok but not the normal standard of a 4 star hotel. Pool is quite old.

Beautiful location, beautiful view. Great variety of foods in breakfast, and also a great dinner. Outdoor swimming pool in mornings was perfect. We stayed 3 nights and had trips all around the S-W part of the island, very convenient location (with a car).

It was my second stay in this hotel.
If I would be visiting Madeira again wound not hesitate to be hosted by the hotel Jardím Atlantic.
Receptionists María and Tony are extremely kind and always happy to help.
What to add???
Always would be some moron who will complain about something.
Hasta próxima visita!

Access to the trail was great and the size of the room was nice. Beds were comfortable and shower was nice.
The facilities are very dated! Curtains need to be in the main room. Lights from outside were very bright and annoying when sleeping. Lobby needs to be staffed earlier. We had no one at the desk for an early checkout at 8am. We had many bugs on the ground on our room when we got up in the morning... I put 6 centipedes in the garbage. Definitely not a 4 star resort.

The hotel is located at Nice área wich you can enjoy sea view and mountains.
The food, the dinner was a bit poor, they had only rabbit, wich they showd put other meat in case other guests what, not Everyone likes rabit , no pasta or rice, the vegetables was incomplete.
Breakfast also was a bit poor, only sausages and cooked beans, no bacon, no eggs, basically incomplete breakfast.

This is very beautifully located hotel with amazing view, definitely for people who like to walk around but I think most of the trails are quite challenging.
We used indoor pool as water at outdoor pool was very cold, but it's probably normal in early January.
The food in restaurant is wonderful, this one of the very few hotels where less means more. Slightly smaller choice of food at breakfasts and dinners but of very good quality, many local produce items available.
One more important thing, if you not driving contact the hotel in advance so they could help you to get to the hotel as it's quite far from the nearest bus stop. One kind local driver gave us a lift as I was with a little child but on the way back to Funchal hotel's shuttle bus dropped us at the bus stop.
