Great location and very nice property but needed repairs and upgrades including pool cleaning, exercise equipment that was broken, and kitchen oven door broken.

We had a lot of fun and valuable family time at the Brooklyn Meadows equestrian estate. The property is extensive, impressive, and private. It is relatively close to the boardwalk, beach, shopping, and restaurants. The main house is huge and well furnished. Plenty of space to spread out and play games or relax. We did a lot of cooking for the 15 of us. Kitchen pots and silverware should be replaced. We were surprised that a house of this size, which accommodates so many, doesn’t have a much larger refrigerator, a better working dishwasher, and at least two washers and dryers instead of just one. The dryer needed to run at least twice for each load of laundry. We knew horses bring flies but we were unprepared for how many there were. Hanging fly strips, although unsightly, did the trick. Bring many! We utilized the pool table almost every day. Great competitions! It would make sense to convert the exercise room up there into a bedroom since there is a full bathroom right next to it. The massage room is a waste of space since I’m sure most families don’t use that. This is another opportunity for an additional bedroom. The outdoor pool was a great size and the water was just the right temperature for our family. We called and maintenance came to clean the bottom of the pool. The sides and steps need to be scrubbed because body oils and sunscreen leave a nasty coating. I recommend that maintenance be done mid-week to check cleanliness and water and chemical levels, especially after a rain. We can’t figure out why our hair and nails turned blue green after swimming. Some guests are slobs and leave their greasy messes behind, so the barbecue grills should be cleaned by maintenance after guests leave. A new grill would be a better choice than the slow, rusty ones that are there. The guest house (approximately two football fields walking distance from the main house) was a disappointment. Although it is lovely and the price we paid included both buildings, guests could not stay there because of the foul stench from the horses. The barn connects to the guesthouse. I contacted the host several times regarding this issue, asking for some kind of compensation, but to no avail. I was not pleased with being ignored. We needed to purchase inflatable mattresses to accommodate everyone since the pullout sofas in the house are extremely uncomfortable. All in all, nothing is perfect. Life is what you make it and we did enjoy our stay. The most important part was being with family!

The property is beautiful. A few minor tweaks could make it even better. We couldn't get into the house when we arrived. While they gave me the correct code, they did not tell us that once the code was entered, we had to hit the Schlage button to unlock. A few items were not functioning and the kitchen was missing some items that would have made the stay better. Microwave was missing the glass plate, the dishwasher would not close (therefore could not run it), the TV's in a few rooms were not working. TV's should have instructions as they have multiple HDMI ports and none of them were on the correct input to just turn on and go. The workout room was nice but we could not use the treadmill because there was no key to start it. The tv in the "gym" was missing the remote. The pool looked beautiful but it was too cold to utilize that weekend. There is a hot tub on site but not listed and not filed with water so kind of disappointing. Overall we would definitely stay there again, but just fix some things prior to guests staying.

The property had a great setup with a pool, hot tub and fire pit. The house was beautiful. Keep in mind 2 of the bedrooms are located in a separate building. It was a nice location about a 20-minute drive from the beach. The only negative was the amount of flies in the house. We expected flies outside but not so many inside. Once we put fly paper up things were good. Also, remember to bring our own firewood for the fire pit.

We first stayed at this home two years ago and loved it. In many ways we still did —private pool, plenty of bedrooms and meeting spaces, close proximity to Ocean City. However, in 2 years, there was a lot of wear and tear (mattresses sagged, dining chairs were broken). A through cleaning and overall maintenance should be done. In addition, wifi was spotty and there was a fly infestation.

We enjoyed this place. We were here for a Marriage Retreat and everyone expressed how much they loved the home. Positives include the scenery, the amount of space, pool area, and fire pit. When we arrived the key code wouldn’t work. Customer service quickly connected us to a local resource who provided an alternative for entry. The prompt response was appreciated. A few not so positive notes: We wished that the gym was a bedroom. The equipment didn’t really work so It’s a waste having that amazing full bath off the game room but not really getting its full use being so far away from a bedroom. The kitchen was lacking as far as small appliances and kitchenware goes. Good thing we brought some things with us. Lastly, we wanted a late checkout. The process for being approved for or receiving notice for if you are granted late checkout was frustrating. Aside from this, all went well.

We sent the following message to the property manager, Michelle and it's been over 14 days and received no response. Our organization encountered maintenance and housekeeping issues while staying at the Brooklyn Meadows-The Manor & Equestry Inn. These issues should have been addressed before our arrival and it caused an embarrassment to our organization from our guests. The toilet tissues that were provided in the entire main house did not last for one night. We had to make an emergency run to get more. The towels in the house put a lot of white lint all over your body and the pull out couch bed located in the pool table room was very uncomfortable (a guest complaint). The pool was not cleaned and had white "stuff", a broken pool cleaner, worms, and other bugs floating in the pool (please find pictures attached supporting this claim). We hired a chef for the weekend who was not able to properly prepare meals because the oven was not working. The option to ask our chef to walk to the other house by the barn to resolve the oven issue was not within our contract with him. We lost money for food that was purchased to be cooked at the main house because the oven was not available. The house by the barn was not cleaned before our arrival because the toilet had a yellow ring stain in the toilet bowl and spiders/spider webs were found in multiple places in the house. Please find pictures attached that were provided to us from our guests. The sewage in the house was backed up and the toilet on the first floor overflowed into the hallway near the left wing stairs. This sewage backup caused our guests not to be able to use the restrooms until this issue was fixed. Even though some of the issues were addressed during our stay at the house, we feel the management office neglected to address these issues before our arrival. We were told the management office already knew the oven was not working and failed to contact us about this issue before arrival. We feel the management office needs to compensate us for some of the money that we paid to rent this house because it should have not been our job to address it to them or Vascasa.

Overall, we would return to this home because it is accommodating for a large group (we are 19). With that being said, we didn’t use the “guest house” because that would remove part of the family in the evening so we all made the main house work. The house wasn’t the cleanest when we arrived- we had a petrified frog on the living room carpet… like dead dead. A few other things that made you scratch your head (hand soap with pump top missing, cracked glass in cabinet). The fire pit is awesome but was annoying we had to provide wood. Kitchen had most of the utensils one would need to cook. No propane- again annoying but they have a charcoal one that worked great. The beds are horrible. Every. single. One. The flies. Holy lord the flies- SO MANY. Fruit flies and regular flies. VERY ANNOYING. Lots of deer on the property which is cool. House has good AC flow and water was good pressure and temp too. We didn’t use pool or hot tub but hot tub was gross. So if you have plans as a romantic hot tub night- nah. But def a cute house and cute area.
