very peaceful and good value for money

certain areas needed some TLC - TV not working

The location was superb and perfect to walk our dog. We loved the setting and the relaxed, ‘rustic’ feel to the property. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the heating and shower facilities (including towels etc) excellent.

Whilst the facilities were perfectly adequate and the bed very comfortable, we were disappointed to see that the property had not been given a really thorough clean, and I’m not talking about inaccessible places, but surfaces and shelves (the dresser shelves and the cupboard in the bathroom for example). The floor was not properly swept nor the mats hoovered or shaken. I’m disappointed to be writing this, as I really don’t like being negative, and I’m disappointed that the hosts let themselves down when this is such a great location. The word ‘impeccable’ is used to describe the property. It wasn’t but it could be! On the morning we were leaving, whilst giving our dog a short walk, we were approached by a young man who told my husband that the property was private and that we were trespassing (it clearly states in the promotional material that the hosts welcome guests enjoying the beautiful grounds!) When my husband pointed out that we were actually guests staying there (our car could clearly be seen parked outside The Log Cabin!), there was no apology offered for this rather rude and upsetting episode. This experience took some of the shine off the stay. We had no idea who this person was but surely the hosts should make sure that everyone working at the property know that there are guests staying?

Very spacious

A bit further out from my destination than expected but comfort, more than made up for that.

Clean,, comfortable, quiet and great surroundings. Felt very relaxed. Everything available as informed. Lovely grounds to walk around with the dogs. Helped that no-one else was camping etc at the time 👍❤️

Nothing bad at all. First time getting there we easily missed the gates as it was IMMEDIATELY off the A1, but then no problem. Didn't expect a motor home right out back, but didn't seem to have anyone in it so didn't bother us. All in all as first mentioned... nothing bad at this lovely cabin at all 😁👍❤️

Self check in Close from motorway but not too loud

I would say it’s more for 4 than 6

The cabin was unreal. Will defo be back and would def recommend. The grounds were fabulous. Kids loved playing on the zip wire over the shallow river.

Only downside would be they say it holds 6 and I would say max 4 as otherwise 2 people on the sofa bed

The location is good - it’s right off the A1 so easy to access.

The cleanliness and fittings were inadequate. The toilet broke after one use, the hosts asked us to move our car at 11pm and thereafter took three visits to fix the toilet.

Loved the setting (once found). Beautiful clean environment. Would book again if needed.

No proper bed for 2 guests. Family of 4, Dad and toddler slept on a mattress on the floor (upstairs). The double bed was comfy but very noisy. The turning into the drive is not clear, we went round in circles on A1 as turning is just off the slip road (not clear.)
