Cold water in the shower

The owner and her manager were incredibly helpful and accommodating and we were made to feel very welcome. We stayed before and after a Safari and they let us leave bags there, did washing for us while we were away and were a great help with both buying bus tickets and getting to the bus early in the morning. The rooms were very comfortable, clean, nicely decorated and very good value. Everything exceeded our expectations.

The breakfast was good and it is convenient place to go from Arusha to the airport.

We were staying for one night before/after our safari, so looked for affordable accomodation. And as such, it is fine. Nothing fancy. Good food - breakfast included. And great .

Nice bed and shower, very clean

Mina Chai is an exceptional budget option for travellers. We stayed for a couple of nights and were looking for a quiet place to stay, equally far away from the city centre and airport. What amazed us was the incredibly kind and helpful staff - Lucy took time out of her own schedule to travel with us to the city, show us around and organize everything we needed, including transfers. She even cooked us an amazing lunch when requested! The room was small but cozy and we felt welcome throughout the entire stay. Would definitely recommend Mina Chai for travellers looking for an intimate “guest-house” experience with attentive and generous staff!

We payed 5 dollars per person for breakfast but got only bread, jam and eggs. Would have expected more for that price. But besides of that I really liked the place

All the staff is extremely welcoming and speak good English! They are so kind and help you with everything! The food they serve is excellent. They even provided gluten-free and lactose free mails for me. The sleeping room is very nice. Good bed, a fan and a nice big washroom with a good hot shower. The living room is very cosy with a big sofa where you can watch TV (incl. International channels) and relax like home. The price is very fair. They also arranged a nice massage for us. The location is perfect! It's quiet and safe so we slept very good. Sakina is a very nice place to walk around. With a taxi it's only 10 minutes tot he city centre for 5000 tzh. We recommend to go to the food and textile market. It's also close to all the safari companies. We stayed here for 4 days and would love to come back because it feels like home. Excellent service and very nice employees and manager. We felt very well and enjoyed our stay. Very central location with many local restaurants, ATM and little supermarkets.

One plate of pinepples for 5 Dollars is a bit overpriced.

I have only good words to say about this place. The bean soup with chapati I had for dinner was the best I've had in Tanzania. Super clean room and very comfortable bed. Strong and reliable wifi. But the best thing is the care I was treated with that made me feel special. The next day I had to catch a flight from Arusha airport, and I asked if they could arrange the transfer. They said they could for 20 dollars, and considering it was only about 2kms away, I said it was an unreasonable price, even by western standards. They said they couldn't do it for less because the driver wouldn't accept less. The next morning, the owner, Ricky, told me she would have driven me herself for half the price. On the way, she got a call from the guesthouse where they found my hat I had forgotten in the room. They sent someone who brought it to me while we were on our way. Just to tell how much they care. Thanks Ricky.

Hot water in the shower turned cold after 5 minutes, but I guess with all the power shortages running in Arusha those days it's just normal. I didn't really care

It is a nice place in Arusha. We staid there for one night. The Managment and the Employes are really friendly.

The atmosphere and the friendliness of the staff and owner was superb. Ricki, the owner and her staff, Patricia and Lucy, went out of their way to ensure we had an outstanding and memorable stay. Patricia took us to town to show us around, to take us to the shops we needed to go to and my wife to a hair salon for braids. Every morning breakfast was made for the time we liked to have breakfast. Dinner, they asked what we would like to have and made it. We were particularly fond of Lucy's chapati that was flaky and very tasty. As well as Patricias watermelon juice, soups, stews and ugali. You must try Patricia's watermelon juice, it will have you begging for more. They went above and beyond to make us feel like we were at home instead of on vacation.

Review: highly recommended overnight stay for Arusha and Safari trips. Room: clean rooms with own bathroom. The condition of the rooms are new. You will also have access to a living room and dining table to share with other guests. It is comparable with a home stay at a friend's house. Breakfast: the breakfast is being served depending on the guests. Watermelon juice, omelette and toasts are included in the stay. Upon request, meals can be ordered and it will be freshly cooked for you (6USD per person). The banana soup is highly recommended. Price: Good price for money overnight stay for Safari trips.

Very very nice place to stay! Most clean place I’ve seen in Tanzania in the past 2 months I’ve been here. Awesome beds. Staff is very friendly. Breakfast was basic but okay.
