Above all the friendliness of the all staff the place was excellent. The rooms are simple but everything works and the location is superb - you can walk to any key sites or restaurants and the view from the rooms - whether facing the city of the sea are perfect.

We had the suite with sea looking window. The staff was great.

Communication prior to visiting was excellent. David & Cinzia couldn’t be more welcoming & helpful throughout our stay. The hotel was typical Sicilian - clean & fresh with lovely marbled floors. Room had air conditioning & all the comforts you need. Mostly quiet- some noise from 8 am. Good location to easily walk to all the fabulous restaurants, shops, seafront & historic buildings. David & Cinzia arranged for us to use the pool & jacuzzi in the sister hotel for 1 hour which was a nice surprise.

Domus Mariae Albergo is the sister hotel to Beneserre which we thought we had booked into & breakfast ,roof top terrace & spa were just across the road from this hotel - we hadn’t realised this when we booked. The Beneserre hotel also had the roof terrace for peaceful lounging- A roof top bar with some music would have been a lovely addition. Free parking is difficult so airport transfer advised. However David & Cinzia assist access to parking close to hotel for 20 euros/day

Good size double room with small balcony with street view. Very good buffet breakfast with some cooked food made to order, taken in sister hotel across the street. The location gave close walking access to points of interest and restaurants.

No major issues as we were aware of its historic city location, where renovations and early morning utilities or deliveries are common. It did not apply to our trip but car parking is very restricted. Access to the sea on the east was restricted and with rocky surfaces difficult under foot.

Davide and his colleagues were exceptionally helpful. Their care and attention was world class. I could not recommend this property more highly.

The location was lovely and the room was also very good. The staff were very friendly and Davide in particular was fantastic. He provided us with excellent recommendations on things to do and places to go and generally was very helpful.

Breakfast could have been better. The service was a bit slow. On one of the days, the single loaf of bread ran out and there didn't appear to be any more. It's a shame that the rooftop terrace didn't have a bar or some sort of refreshments available. Another hotel we stayed at had an 'honesty' bar which seemed to work well.

Why isn’t every hotel like this? Spotlessly clean, a stunning view from the room, and the most friendly and helpful staff I’ve met in any hotel I’ve ever stayed in.

Location is excellent between the old town and sea. Waking up to view of the sea and cappuccino in the room can't be beat. Staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful! Even helping to book last minute excursions and transfers at the best rate.

It is hard to describe, i really loved this place. It is historical house with presence combined in great old city, its got character. You are just few meters from ocean, so you hear it through open window, even our room was turned to the city. Amazing atmosphere, just few meters from the small isles of the city, perfect location. Great big rooms, clean and comfy. Breakfast is good, is in another house around 10m away. Even-thought i dont do it, this time i have to mention the kindness, helpfulness and personality of Davide, he was in charge of the hotel during our time there and he made the experience really great, thank you for the restaurant tips :) and your help with pharmacy etc. Davide is the hearth of Domus Mariae!

- shower is working perfectly and has hot water, you just need to be able to turn the shower on :), you have to knock up the big wheel and it works great!

FIRST AND FORE-MOST STAFF deserve a special mention as booking .com will confirm I stay in hotels more than 180 days a year around the world and this is on par with any top hotels ok this could probably do with adding like coffee & tea making facilities and breakfast they have a roof terrace that if utilised would bring many extra non guests but that is for hotel to decide

The room was spatious and had a great view. The decor was nice too. The location is fantastic, just minutes away from interesting sites in Ortigia.

The shower was ancient, although functioned just fine.
