We'll start with the positives. The host was nice. He gave decent instructions on how to find the apt and introduced himself in person, asking if we needed anything for our stay. Upon request, he gave us some towels to use for the shower and also offered some bottle iced coffee to drink. The property was also a somewhat short drive to NYC. Now for the negatives. Property was not in the best area. There were many vagrants and broken down cars on adjacent streets. Though they weren't out front of the property, the closest available street parking was always on one those streets. Also, the door to the apartment is down a narrow alley down the side of the building. It's pitch black at night, though there is a light that turns on when you get right in front of the door. Despite being a rough neighborhood, the front door did not have a deadbolt. Inside the apartment, it's easily noticeable that the apartment is not the cleanest. The beds have mildew/mold on them. We put dropcloths over the beds to sleep on them. The words "THIS PLACE ASS" were also carved into the wall on one of the bedrooms, presumably by a previous tenant. There was also water coming through the wall between the bathroom and the kitchen, where it would pool under the kitchen table. It didn't seem to be wastewater and we didn't trust using the kitchen anyway, so I just let the host know and avoided sitting at the table. Overall, the property was ok for a couple nights. Would not recommend for longer than that.

I needed somewhere to stay because I had to wait for my apartment to move in. Convenient location ( 3 bus lines and city subway). Host got back to me quickly when I needed anything. I had to stay an extra week and he was very helpful with that process.

The property host was very tentive came to speak to us we stayed for Christmas 23-26 and was quiet cozy and pleasant, very welcoming also hot water lasted Soo long for us to relax in water since we took a long drive from California to this cozy apartment. Just to be close to New York . Wonderful experience will book again. Highly recommend it.

This is a place I would absolutely not recommend as it was far below standard. Upon arrival late in the evening we had to walk down a very darkened alley that did not have any outside lights or working motion sensors. As soon as we stepped in we were met by an odor reminiscent of old cooking grease & a lack of ventilation. The main common space had a very old dilapidated couch that was held up on one end by either a cereal box with a hard object inside or a child's toy. The owner presented himself upon our arrival to see if we had any questions. I could not answer as I was almost in disbelief. After he departed I noticed that the two bedrooms contained furniture that were extremely antiquated. Is the place clean enough to accommodate our stay? One of the mattresses was stained very clearly from the bottom up so we couldn’t use room. We did not inspect the mattress in the other room for fear. The bathroom had a broken light fixture & the cabinets did not close properly. The bathroom floor had what appeared to be shoe prints after it was probably wiped down. The tub had black mold in the grout all along the rim where the tub meets the tile. I slept in a vinyl chair. My husband slept with clothes on in the other room. We wanted to leave but given the late hour where would we go? We decided to stay one night. Then it got very cold because the power went out taking out the heaters. At 6 am we were awakened by cold & by a loud online evangelical revival upstairs. Went 2 a hotel

Fair trade, and nice host... What else do you want? A fairly good experience.

I had absolutely no issues with the host, who is extremely nice and accommodating, or the property. The property was clean, the check-in process was incredibly quick and simple. As I said in the it was an excellent experience all the way around. ( As a side note this is an inexpensive location, but when you consider the accommodations you receiving for the price paid it is beyond an exceptional value.)

Reasonably priced and clean unit with space to comfortably accommodate four people; basic amenities provided and host responsive to any additional needs. Convenient location close to Food Depot, restaurants, and NJ Transit. Thanks for the great stay!

The house was as listed. It could have been a little "cleaner" but it was overall a nice little house!
