It was a perfect stay

Marcus is absolutely lovely and so was the dog that was around! He made me feel comfortable and we had a small chat about what i was doing (i went to a gig!) i would definitely stay here again if i had the opportunity to! it’s a nice distance away from the beach and close to the old town but far enough to get away from the buzz of it. definitely would recommend staying here :)

Marcus was a fantastic host and messaged me before I arrived to make sure I had directions. Also greeted me on arrival to tell me everything I needed to know. The room was very comfortable and had everything I needed for a great stay in the lovely town of Margate and I wouldn't hesitate to book again in the future.

Perfect location, right in the middle of the old town. Marcus was absolutely lovely and really helpful. Dog friendly and very relaxed environment.

Nothing at all. There is a shared bathroom which we knew so if anything just had to wait to use it but didn't present any issues.

Great location, close to both the beach and old town. The room is cosy and quirky. Definitely enjoyed the uniqueness. Marcus is a great host, really helpful and friendly!

Charm

Lovely and helpful host; fantastic location; charming decor; very clean. Everything was fantastic except the quality of our sleep.

In summer it’s very warm - without a fan is too much we thought. The mattress was truly unbearable but we’re used to a new mattress so perhaps this is a personal preference. We didn’t sleep well.

Location was great and the host Marcus was very welcoming. The area's I saw were really nicely decorated and the entrance (which was down a small alley) was lit with a very bright light. My room was slightly ... wonky (the ceiling was not at right angles with the wall and the floor sloped slightly) which added to the rooms character.

It would've been nice to get breakfast but I understand why he doesn't offer it, the property is just too small. He did however have several suggestions of places to eat. Also, as this is a period property the windows are not double glazed - it didn't effect the temperature but the cars driving past were easily heard (during the day, I'm a light sleeper and was not woken up once).

A real find - I felt very comfortable there and will definitely stay again.

THe location of the property is excellent

I wasn't impressed by the room - I was only staying one night, so I was ok with living from my bag - however, there was no provision for storing clothes. The floor did not appear to have been vacuumed before my arrival. The most annoying thing was on Sunday morning when I went to use the tea making facilities - the tea bags were not contained, and one had suffered from water droplets, and a couple of the sugar packs were also stained - the crowning moment was the kettle still containing water from a previous usage - as it would have meant another trek to the shared bathroom on the floor above, I gave up. The bathroom was ok, apart from the top of the flush cistern which needed cleaning.

We had a great stay. Jan the host was so friendly and made us feel so welcome.

Very central location for exploring Margate. Small room, but all we needed for a night and at a reasonable price. Jan was very welcoming and kind.
