This little diamond is a bit hard to locate, but the locals are more than happy to guide you when asked so it was never a problem and it was definitely worth the effort. This place is has all the things needed for a romantic stay, and is close to nature/hiking as well as the village of Paul. When having walked the downhill road to Paul, a taxi back uphill to the hotel will cost around 300 CVE and is definitely money well spent ;-) Room, restaurant and facilities are spotless and clean, which of course is very nice. The owner Hannelore is simply a wonderful person, which reflects, as it normally does, also on the staff which are all super nice and friendly. The rooftop bar and restaurant has a self service area with a notebook to sign what you take, for those who want a drink or some snacks after hours -- also a thing reflecting the philosophy of the place. From the rooftop you have the most wonderful views over the valley, the mountains and down to the sea. Good to know that the place is all vegan in terms of breakfast and dinner, Great for some, but even for meat-eaters like us this place was fantastic and we would never doubt coming back to Kasa d'Vizin if even in Paul again. If you come by car and move on to Ribeira Grande, maybe visit Ponta do Sol, and then go over the mountains to Cova de Paul, be prepared for a breathtaking journey on narrow roads of cobblestone up above 1500m and down again on the other side. And don't believe any maps app on this, as it will (and should) take much much longer time than expected X-D

We arrived just before dark, which was good as the path to the hotel is quite narrow and better for those who travel light (among whom we are not, unfortunately). Same goes for the staircases in this multi-floor hotel. However, it's all worth the exercise! The village Paul is picturesque and the ocean is mighty, but there is no beach and both the rocks next to the sea as well as the village is unfortunately flooded with garbage!! A real pity, as the sea and the surrounding nature is breathtaking :-(

Beautiful, well-kept and clean hotel with cosily furnished rooms. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is delicious, varied and vegan friendly. The view from the roof terrace is marvellous.

Everything, from the idyllic location to the room, the staff and food was incredible. The food makes you want to eat here every day. Breakfast is very diverse with use of mostly local products or local (breakfast)dishes. Delicious. Dinner is equally mouthwatering. Wide range of drinks as well. Rooms are modern, large and very comfortable. Then the location. It’s awesome. The views are unbeatable and the place is only a short walk away from the bigger town Vilas das Pombas. The owner and her husband are some of the nicest hotel owners I’ve met. They definately went the extra mile. Highly recommend Kasa d’Vizin.

Beautiful apartment with modern up to date amenities. Beautiful mountain view. Nice breakfast. Our host and her husband were lovely. Very friendly and nice to talk to. Also very informative about hikes on the island. I truly enjoyed my stay there.

A little noisy starting around 8am since there is a lot of construction going on (this seems to be a lot of Santo Antao though and I don't think you can really avoid it). They did provide earplugs.

Really an exceptional guesthouse, very nicely furnished and decorated, small and familiar - just the way we like it. But the really special thing are the people: Hannelore and Ilton, who run their guesthouse so dedicated and loving and always have an open ear. But also the team, who are always on hand and also make you feel really comfortable and cared for. We have absolutely enjoyed the days at Kasa d'Vizin.

This is a very nice place to stay on Santo Antao. The view is great from the roof. Staff is friendly. They make great breakfasts and dinners. The room was very cozy and clean.

We liked everything! We really loved it here. The views from the rooftop terrace are incredible, and the rooms are really lovely. What really made the stay though was the staff - very friendly and welcoming. It felt more live visiting friends than staying in a hotel. Hannelore has really though of everything to make the stay here perfect. The breakfasts and evening meals in the hotel are excellent and extremely reasonable. And, the availability of packed lunches also makes it super easy to get out and see the incredible nature! We hope to be back - soon! Thanks to all!

The studio is nicely decorated, well arranged and very confortable. For those who likes to cook, the kitchen is perfect and well furnished. The view from the rooftop is breathtaking and the staff really kind and supportive. It is the perfect place to relax after a day hiking

I had a great time at Kasa d'Vizin. The hotel is greatly located, surrounded by beautiful nature and a terrasse that gives you the feeling that you are in the middle of it. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Also the host was very helpful, kind and gave it a personal touch. The food was amazing, for a very fair price I got a three meal course that tasted awesome. Thank you!

Everything was absolutely perfect, this is the best place I’ve stayed in in Cape Verde and I’ve visited plenty of islands! From the kindest, 24/7 available staff, to the magical location, the great quality of everything in the apartment, view, wide space, nice breakfast, available extras, excellent cleaning, flexible check in and out, everything! I will stay here every time I visit Santo Antao for sure!

Kasa d'Vizin is a lovely place with a personal approach in a beautiful environment. The breakfast is varied (both sweet and savory options) and the dinner they serve is always amazing and made with local ingredients. I love it here ❤️

Don’t get discouraged by the surroundings, it’s actually quite safe and nice!

The house is very nice and cosy, you feel a homey vibe. The views from the terrace are amazing, the host was super friendly.

Our room’s windows were both facing internal corridors were people pass by, so we definitely lacked some privacy. I didn’t sleep so well - didn’t find the bed too comfortable. At the moment of our stay there was also a construction going on, which would wake us up quite early. It would be important to mention that the breakfast served is only sweet - fruit, peanut butter with jam, cakes and bread. The closest restaurant ir 2,5km away.

Beautiful rooftop terrace with an amazing view. There's water, coffee and tea in the room. The friendly staff that gives good advice regarding hikes and transport. The possibility to have a healthy and filling dinner at the guesthouse after a long day of hiking. Very comfortable beds.

A great place to stay, hidden away from the road traffic but at very well thought out location, easily reachable by public transport, or on foot if you like a bit of excercise. Best freshly cooked breakfast of the valley.

The building work next door was noisy and dusty. Hadn’t realised that it was vegetarian. Too many beans!

This is a great place in the heart of the Paul Valley. The view from the roof terrace is breathtaking, as is the food which is served there every evening. The owners and the staff are very friendly and willing to help with everything. We had a great stay here!

To say that we both loved this place wouldn't do it justice! Because we adored it! The apartment is beautifully and tastefully decorated and sitting on the terrace while sipping one of the delicious juices prepared on the spot makes you feel part of a tropical forest. The activities that you can do around Eito abound. Anyway, if you simply choose to stay inside and relax, you've got what you need - Hannelore has thought of everything, from the small details to the big suggestions and recommendations that make a difference. By the way, this is the right place to be for all vegan travellers (and not only them), as the food is delicious! I've had my favourite cachupa of the entire trip around Cabo Verde here! Thank you for making our stay on Santo Antão so special!

The suite was very clean, comfortable and had an amazing view. The breakfast and dinner were really delicious and healthy, with of course the amazing view in the terrace it felt like a dream. Hannelore and everyone were extremely nice and helpful. I had to adjust my booking last minute due to an emergency, really appreciate her understanding and flexibility. She also helped me organize the best excursions in the beautiful island. Would definitely visit again!

Lovely place, personal//cozy feeling, unbeatable view and the owners & personnel go out of their way to make everything beyond perfect. Decent vegan food is hard to find in Cape Verde, but here there's a different menu every day made with local ingredients. I would absolutely recommend Kasa D'Vizin to everyone looking for a calm refuge. The location is great too, very close to Pombas, in the middle of the green Paul valley with lots of amazing hiking trails nearby. We've loved it here and will absolutely be back!
