Right in the heart of the village of La Jolla. Clean, friendly and nice size rooms. No restaurant on-site, but plenty of options within walking distance. Nice beds and bedding. Complimentary coffee and tea in lobby and public lounge. Parking is available on-site for $20 per day.

The property is dated/old. If someone above or beside you is showering or flushes the toilet it sounds like water is coming down into your walls and regardless there’s a constant sound of water in the ceiling or walls. Property over all could use some updates. It is a great location in terms of walking to restaurants & shops. If you’re looking for a less expensive option then it’s fine. It feels like a Motel 6. People were nice, bed was comfortable & free coffee & tea. There aren’t any other amenities so it’s really just a place to sleep and that’s how we looked at it.

We loved our stay at Inn By The Sea. It was close to the walking path by the beach, great food surrounding us, and the rooms are spacious and clean. I will definitely be staying here again when in the area either for work or personal.

We choose this hotel when we are in the area and we are here 3-4 times a year. Walking distance to restaurants and ocean. Nice beds, friendly staff and clean facilities at a decent price for La Jolla!

for VIP benefit, I received 'one' parking pass during 4 day stay. There are plenty of street parking during weekdays and weekend so this VIP-pass was not helpful.
The facility and the rooms were outdated but it was the most affordable in the area at avg $250 /night.
It is walkable to beaches, local eateries/bars, supermarket, BevMo and CVS as well as close to shops

Its not worth for the money they charged. Sea view is blocked by the building next to it. PARKING is available on first come service.it doesnt have 4 star like facilities. You can stay at nearest 4 star hotel instead

Good location, nice hotel, very friendly and helpful service at check-in. The downside was a lack of strong A/C in our room. It was hot outside and the room air was not turned on at arrival, and it took hours to cool down. By late evening, we had to ask for a fan because our room was still too warm. They did provide one but it was a puzzling situation. On the plus side, La Jolla was fun! Enjoyed a morning jog along the ocean path, saw seals and dolphins, a beautiful sunset, and had an awesome time hiking at Torrey Pines Nature Reserve!

I stay here 30-40 nights a year but this last experience has made me reconsider if I will continue. My status from Expedia was not recognized this trip. I stayed at another hotel the next night and was immediately upgraded.

I was placed in a very large room and for the VIP service I appreciate the coupons given and the fresh coffee available at all times. Pool area was great.

I do not believe that this is or should be rated a 9.2 - very view amenities - rooms not cleaned everyday and even when they were it took me 3 asks to get some soap, ice buckets were never emptied. Staff was not very helpful when asked questions about the area and directions etc. Very long walk to the beach uphill and downhill

The hotel is a sold 6 out of 10. Clean and comfortable, but pretty economy in details and furnishings. The woman who checked us in was just horrible. We purchased three rooms, one for us and one each for our adult children. We specifically asked that we be given the highest floor available. She told her she had, but then checked in my son and gave him the higher floor. When I laid her told her that was inconsiderate, she just laughed it off and said she never actually checked.
