Nice enough. Pillows were way too soft with head ending up on the mattress supported by just the pillowcase. Service was nice, and the cafe/bar downstairs was great.

The stay didn’t start too well when we found the parking was in a public car park 5 minutes walk away. This cost 37 CHF overnight, with the hotel discount.
The staff were universally fabulous, lovely check in and explained where all the Christmas markets were. Our room was basic and small but everything worked and was clean. The desk was a good size for a laptop and kettle, all the essentials! The buffet breakfast was surprisingly good with lots of options.
The location was wonderful, literally in the heart of Zurich old town so it was aptly named!

I had a great stay at the hotel, the lady in charge of my check-in was incredible and helpful. Even though the room was not ready yet, she kept my luggage and then moved it to my room. Breakfast was delicious with all sorts of choices. The location of the hotel is very convenient and most important places were within walking distance. I recommend this hotel.

We had a great time in Zurich. The property is centrally located and within walking distance from all major attractions in the City. The room and the hotel was clean and we especially loved the cafe on the ground floor. We definite recommend this place for someone visiting Zurich for the first time.

Great hotel, especially the location; couldn't ask for better. Quiet and peaceful, even with the massive amount of street work being done. Bravo!
Comfortable room other than:
1. Can't control thermostat to room and they literally have the heat on way too high. We were not the only guests complaining.
2. Pillows were horrible, basically useless. People need neck support when sleeping.

Perfect Location in the middle of old town. Great Breakfast, Great Staff and good room. No parking on site but a large parking garage at 5 min walking distance.

We enjoyed our stay at Altstadt. The location is great, employees are great and breakfast was great. The only reason I wont give 5 stars was the beds are low (we are old) and there is no central air. That being said we were there in September so with windows open and fans on it was comfortable.

Only stayed one night. Great location especially if you are in Zurich only for a short time, plenty of landmarks to see, food to eat, and shops to shop.
Hotel itself is clean, service is great, excellent breakfast. I will stay there again if ever back in Zurich

I can’t say enough about this hotel. The staff staff was very attentive to any request we had. They gave us service with a smile and helped make a few days in Zürich very fun and relaxing vacation.
The area is fantastic, Very safe, clean with many options for shopping and food.

My stay was only for one night and the majority of my time was filled with sightseeing. However, there were no issues with the minimal amount of time spent at hotel and in the room.

Nice small and, by Swiss standards, affordable hotel. Had nice “garret” room on 5th floor. Elevator available. Big enough and cozy. Makes you feel you are in Europe. Convenient location in older part of town near river, lake, many restaurants and Bahnhofstrasse shopping (if you dare!). Excellent for short stay.

The hotel is in a great location to see the Zurich old town and walk around for the day. The staff was all excellent and very friendly and welcoming. The room are on the small side and feel more like a college dorm room rather than a hotel room, but for just one day it was fine for us.

Everything was as expected except one thing. The staff cleaning next door rooms at 8-9am was ridiculous. The walls are really thin and you can hear almost everything happening outside your room. I am a deep sleeper and even I got woken up multiple times due to crying babies next door or the slamming of doors, carts, and vacuums outside of our room. I couldn’t get the rest I expected and wanted.

The hotel is right in the centre, convenient location with tr tram just about 100m away. Its nice and neat hotel and got everything you need. If i gonna be back definitely I will stay here again.

The room was way too small for a family of 4. Cramped like sardines in a tin can. The elevator stopped working on our check-out day and my family and I had to carry our suitcases down 4 flights of steps.

We had an excellent stay for my family of 4. Great location in Old Town right by the river and in close proximity to restaurants. The mattresses for the beds set up for my children were a little too firm but that was the only improvement - we were happy that they had their own beds here as most hotels we are staying at only have a sofa bed from them.

We stayed here for just one night before leaving Switzerland - it was a lovely room on a relatively quiet side street, near many walkable sights and good restaurants.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Beds were very comfortable. The street outside can be a bit noisy as everything echos, but it was quiet after about 11 pm. Nice breakfast and great location!

We had a wonderful 24 hours at the Altstadt Hotel. It is centrally located and we were able to walk everywhere. The bar/cafe was a lovely place to sit outside for tea and a beer before we left for the train to the airport. We found the small elevator a tight fit for ourselves and luggage. That was the only hint of inconvenience.

Nice modern, sleek room with clothes hanging space and space to lay out 2 suitcases. Lovely large bathroom with a soaking tub!!! Nice little view of Grossmünster.

The staff was lovely and the room was clean. Only weird there was the shower. They way it was bad water just gets all over the floor of the bathroom.
