Great hotel and location but for me a big issue with heating/AC in room. Hotel has set the heating in all rooms to same temperature which you cannot change. Set to 'hot' in winter and the reading was 26 on thermostat in room. No way to cool room down.
Suggestion from hotel was to open windows which given hotel is on a very busy road makes it very noisy in the room and hard to sleep.
My issue is not that hotel is on a busy road - we knew that and it is a great location - just did not expect to have window open all night in December to try to get comfortable temperature in room.
In summer we were told temperature is set to 'cold' in all rooms so watch out as you will not be able to change it if you don't like the temperature in the room.
Cannot recommend as temperature in rooms too uncomfortable.

Lovely hotel, massive rooms, massive bed, great views! The only thing I would change is the mattress, it's very rubbery and noisy when you turn in bed. But it's very comfortable. It's in the centre and walking distance from everything, I would definitely stay again.

It was great 3days stay. The room is super clean (except coffee table) and linen and bed were fantastic. The view from roof top pool/bar is fantastic. The location is so good to connect to the airport and city. I will definitely stay again next year’s trip to BCN.

Staff very rude. We arrived 2pm after travelling for a day. Would not provide even an hour earlier checkin. Lots of construction outside of hotel. Very loud inside.

The hotel was amazing, in a very centric area with awesome views of Montjuic and Sagrada Familia, the room was spacious and clean and the pool on the roof was the cherry on top.

Great hotel. Very nice staff. Beds were a little firm, but manageable. It’s in a good location and easily accessible by any transportation.

Pros for this hotel: convenient location of the property. Metro station with 2 lines, airport bus stop close to the hotel, big shopping mall next door with dining options with nice views. Breakfast at the hotel was amazing, but pricey. Piano player played some nights downstairs at the bar area. That was lovely.
Cons for this hotel: our room smelled like someone smoked weed for a while. It took 3 days opening windows to air out. But the halls smelled smoke everywhere. The elevators were tricky to use with your room card. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn’t. We didn’t use the pool, it was too crowded. The line at the reception desk could get too long at checkout times.

The hotel is general is good, but our 2 rooms had horrible smell, strong sewage smell. For the first 2 nights we were so tired, so we didn't request to change the rooms. Last night both me and my wife felt sick, we couldn't bear the smell and started to vomit. I went to the reception, he told me no rooms and offered me free breakfast, not sure how this would help. I ended up spending the night at tbe lobby u til it was 2 late and went to the room, switched off the AC, which helped a little bit. I don't know if the smell is coming from the AC or toilet. But it was so bad. I read that many complained about the sewage smell in the room. I don't know how come they didn't fix this issue, why would they sell rooms tbat requires maintenance. So please be aware, it's npt recommended to stay there.

The bathroom had mold growing on the shower floor (did not drain) and ceiling. The sink did not drain. The mattress was incredibly hard. It’s a shame because I really wanted to like the hotel, the staff was nice, restaurants convenient, but the facilities are poorly maintained.

Amazing staff! The staff was extremely helpful! Since it was my first time in Spain, the staff (David) took it upon himself to ensure we had a great room with a great view, and he did not disappoint. The hotel was spotless! And the staff at the restaurant and bar were super friendly and accommodating. I can't say enough great things about this hotel, and I'll definitely be staying here again when I revisit Barcelona.

This was my second time staying here very convenient to restaurants and shops. The continental breakfast was amazing. The best cappuccino I’ve had while staying at a hotel. The staff is very friendly. The bartenders are always amazing.

The accommodations are fine.
Gifts we bought disappeared from our room. We reported this to the hotel front desk and were instructed to email the housekeeping manager. Regrettably, no one ever got back to us.

Very busy hotel but nice convenient neighborhood although not right in town. Metro stop right out the door. Wished you had a true 3rd bed option but the sofa conversion worked.

Exceptional hotel. Very courteous and knowledgeable staff. Restaurant was top quality. Room was beyond our expectations and the shower was the best ever.

We disent have lights in the room. Only one was working. We called the reception they said they were sending someone but no one came. At least we were staying only one night. Expensive for the place.
Only perks is the pool view. Drinks at the pool bar are crazy expensive, 14euro for an aperol spritz..
I wouldn’t book it again.

The Catalonia Barcelona Plaza hotel is very nice inside and out. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Our stay was marred only by hot weather and inoperative air conditioning.

Very convenient spot in the center of the city. A ton of places withing very short walking distance. Staff was excellent, place is clean a few things may need to be upgraded and/or fixed but overall really good spot.

The refurbished rooms are very nice, and this has been one of the very few hotels I've been at where 1. They have soundproof rooms 2. The rooms are actually soundproof. You can barely hear noises on the street and the music in the corridors.
On the negative side, why would you have club music in the corridors? Are you going for a Las Vegas feel? Also, the keys almost never work, the Chromecast on the TV doesn't work (the technician didn't fix it in 3 days), elevators are on the weird side too. Hopefully they will be part of the refurbishment.

Like sleeping in an oven ! Guy at front desk said November so the cold air was Not functioning. But it was over 80F or 27C in the room. Had to sleep with small window open, so all kinds of noise all night long. Finally when got to sleep at 3am... wife screams because big cockroach popped out. Ohh and random phone calls coming into room took any chance of sleep away. Horrible hotel stay.
