All the staff are very helpful and knowledgeable! Our favorite staff was Captain Larry! He greeted us every morning. He even brought a fresh coconut cut open ready to drink for each person in our family! Always kind and positive! Communication with the resort was quick and easy through What's app. This was our 3rd visit at Jaguar Reef and I'm sure we will choose them again!

Beautiful property with fantastic staff and amenities.

Very relaxing and great people!

This was our seond stay here and as always the staff was amazing and attentive. On this trip we also went into town to eat and were not dissapointed.

Beautiful property, very friendly and responsive staff, delicious food, great beach amenities, safe and family-friendly. We had a room on the second floor with a hot tub on the balcony over looking the ocean, which was so luxurious. Couldn’t say a negative thing and would highly recommend.

Staff are great. They are the most important part of the stay!

The property was beautiful! Belize is an amazing country with super nice people! The Mayan ruins were awesome to see and explore! The food choices were limited and the dining times were also. Had to go out into town to get better options.

I loved that this hotel had a lot of extra ways for visitors to get to know Belize. They had a fantastic story telling night by the fire pit. It gave a sweet glimpse into the culture of Belize. Might need more al la carte options on the cafe menue.

When I arrived to the property, at first glance I thought is was beautiful and amazing. The staff were great. Love the knowledge and how out going Caption Larry and Big Baby were during my stay.
As time went on, I started having issues.
First I had to request toilet paper 3 times.
I later found 2 screws at the bottom of my pool on my deck.
My air in the room didn’t work that well.
The food in the restaurant wasn’t the best.
Power went out a couple times during the stay for over 30 minutes. I was surprised how nice looked, that they didn’t have any power backups.
The railing on my balcony had rotten wood.
And on my last day, my water in the shower and sink stop working. When I reported to the front desk, I was informed that a pipe burst.
I was never offered any compensation for the inconvenience. This could be a really nice place if the ownership would spend more on repairs.

I fully enjoyed my first out of country experience. The staff was welcoming and supportive. The experience was was completely amazing.

I liked that the rooms had private pools with colored lights and a sitting area, very nice. My room #25 was nicely designed, unlike my brother and sil's room where the first thing you saw was a toilet. The lock on my outside door broke, and it had to stay unlocked for the majority of the stay. The glass door was difficult to lock and unlock, you had to get the hang of it. Consider doing more preventative maintenance and changing to a card key entry. The staff is top notch. I forgot to tip the lady who brought back my laundry. I was distracted by a call and I am truly sorry.

Beautiful property, good food, overpriced and mixed customer experience. The framework for an amazing resort are in place, but the hospitality and attention to facilities is still very much in its infancy. There needs to be more welcomeness and warmth from staff during interactions. Too many times I felt like I had to earn their attention or incentivize them. Management team was helpful when concerns were raised. I’m confident that soon the experience will better align with the prestige this resort strives to reflect.

Location of the hotel is beautiful and very convenient. We took our parents to the Monkey River, Gailes Point lagoons, Sittee River and there were plenty of other tours available. We had a 2-bedroom suite with a private pool. It was absolutely beautiful and very well appointed. The private pool is worth the extra money we paid for the room. Housekeeping didn't come in for the last few days but it didn't bother us. Everything in the suite was new and well taken care of. Food at the restaurant was delicious and the view was gorgeous. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We're looking forward to staying there again!

The 2BR condo was great for our 3 nights.
Clean and close to the beach. The amenities at Jaguar Reef were great.
Only complaint is that on the last day of our stay there was a pretty loud party that went on for a lot of the day, directly in front of our patio, which was pretty disruptive. Other than that, it was a good stay.

I loved the Dock Bar the rooms were amazing and kept clean. The staff from the the front desk to the bartenders to the restaurant manager are awesome and willing to answer any question and assist with anything! Every day was beautiful and fun. Shot out to Kaptain Larry - super nice and gave great local suggestions!

Beautiful property.

This property was on of your favorite on this trip to Belize. The staff was outstanding and so quick to laugh and help. Everyone knew our names after a few hours there. It was rainy and cold so we spent much time inside with them. Walter was exceptional as the concierge and Susie was wonderful at the front desk. We loved our chats with Capt. Mike and everyone from housekeeping to the bar on the big dock.
We loved the rooms and the soaking pool, but especially the big dock.
We will be back!

The property was great and staff was very friendly and accommodating. I think a menu at the restaurant that is more friendly for the vacationers on the go may help. The beef tenderloin was great but sometimes you need a quick sandwich to meet your dive schedule or other activities.
4.6
Beautiful room with very easy access to the beach and other facilities. Staff was great.
All that said, we were disappointed that there was no snack food or drinks available other than meal times.
The cable TV in our room did not work the entire stay, and was never resolved.
The wiFi was a mess. It was hardly ever available in our room or near the hotel.

Amazing weekend getaway, the room, staff and drinks were literally 10/10!

An absolutely, beautiful property. Spent 2 nights here. Had such a wonderful and relaxing experience. Highly recommend.

Jaguar Reef had two pools, very friendly and knowledgeable staff, and amazingly easy access to the ocean! Being beach front was a huge plus but the dock with two levels to jump from into the warm water and the rope swing were highlights for my family. Captain Larry was always around on the beach to help us take out the paddle board and kayaks (all for free) and we booked a snorkel tour where Antony and Captain Mike took us out to the reef despite rain-threatening clouds, catered to our kids varying energy and resilience levels, and gave us an amazing experience that we will remember forever. Upon checkout we forgot our passports and other important items in the drawers of the bedroom dresser. We had driven 1.5 hours away when we realized it- called them and turned around. They went back into the room and collected our things and held them for us at the front desk which was a huge relief! Thank you Jaguar Reef!

Highly recommend this property. This was my second trip here and it was incredible. The food at Paddle House is delicious, there are a variety of excursions and on-site covid testing was a breeze.

The staff was friendly and inviting. The food was really good. We were there for 8 nights and housekeeping only came in once because we asked them to come and remove trash. The last day there I decided to use the blow dryer and when I pulled it out of the bag it was NASTY! Those who use hair stying products know that overtime if you don’t clean your styling tools you get a little product buildup, right? This blow dryer looks like it had been covered with product, there were still some long red hairs stuck to it, nothing wrong with red hair but not my hair color. I took a cotton swab and could run it across the surface of the blow dryer and little pieces of cotton were left stuck on the dryer. I left it out on the bathroom counter but am pretty sure it wasn’t wiped down and just stuck bag in the bag. The cleanliness thing is huge because currently travelers to Belize need to stay in a Gold Standard cleanliness certified facility, be it resort or homes people rent out. If this is any reflection on the cleanliness then standards obviously aren’t that high.
Also communication could be improved in regards to events happening at the resort. Apparently on Saturday nights they have local Garifuna drummers come from the village to perform. Nothing posted anywhere about any of the happenings, except for happy hour in the lobby bar. Maybe something in the rooms about things happening at the resort. Just a laminated piece of paper would work.

Everything about our stay at Jaguar Reef was incredible. Beautiful grounds and very polite and helpful staff. Edwin the bartender was just incredible and we loved the drinks. The location is in the South end of Hopkins Village so a cart or car is needed to explore. The restaurants nearby are also awesome. Will be coming back!

We loved our stay here! Travelled with my wife and 3 teenage children. We have been to many warm weather destinations and the consensus is that this was their favorite. The resort is perfect and has everything thing you need. More important to us was the incredible staff! So friendly and helpful! Larry, Edgar, Shakira, Anthony and the list goes on! They go out of their way to make sure you have an amazing stay. For that reason alone we will be back. In addition, the food options in Hopkins were world class. We did not expect that and were pleasantly surprised. The Paddlehouse on property was very good and even cooked up the fish we caught. But it’s very worth it step out into Hopkins to find the local eateries! Ellas, Driftwood, La Tratorria, Thongs…You will not be disappointed! Overall, we loved it and we will be back!

The Lodge’s pics look nice, but it needs a lot of work. We stayed in the Hibiscus villa. There were roaches throughout the room. Also, we had dinner at the hotel restaurant (Paddle House). One night during dinner the biggest roach crawled on my feet underneath the table. One of the servers stomped on the roach and kicked it outside. The hotel restaurant food is good, but you won’t want to eat there with roaches. People don’t pay to vacation with roaches.
Please note their sister properties, The Colonial & Almond Beach share the same restaurant.
There were also a number of issues at check-in. The room didn’t have two queens as confirmed prior to our arrival, the phone and television didn’t work, the door lock wasn’t functioning properly, and the windows wouldn’t open. My mom was actually stuck in the room because of the broken door lock. I couldn’t get her out. With the telephone not working and the windows not opening, this could have been very problematic. We spent the first night, dealing with hotel maintenance to get everything fixed. They were able to get my mom out.
The villa’s AC didn’t seem to work so well in the master bedroom. The villa needs better lighting. It’s way too dim. And please put a knob or handle on the closer door (very simple).
Edwin, the bartender, was especially helpful. Shakira tried to be somewhat helpful too. Chanel was not helpful at all.
The hotel has potential, but it needs to be exterminated, updated, & more helpful management.

Our room was great but it rained heavily twice and it was coming in through the patio doors, front door and a window and down the wall. We used every towel to soak it up. Did tell the front after the rain stopped and they took the wet towels and gave me a mop. I complained and they immediately sent someone else over to clean.
Food was great but room service trays were rarely collected.
Staff was friendly and overall we had a nice time.

Our Deluxe Suite was absolutely stunning! The entire staff was welcoming, hospitable and made our stay very comfortable. Chef Rahim's menu was creative and the food was always fresh. We could eat Ceviche every day! In face, I think we did!
The excursions are a MUST if you want to really see the country. So glad we splurged for the Zip Lining/ATV Waterfall Tour. Unforgettable!
Shout out to Shakira for being a Rockstar manger, Rudy for the wonderful service at the bar and Andy for our daily meal service.
Will be recommending Jaguar Reef for years to come! Can't wait to go back.

Belizean Bliss!!
It hasn’t even been one week since we left and we want to go back, to the Jaguar Reef that is. Staff was very welcoming, Chelsea checked us in and they gave us a welcome drink upon arrival. We were taken to our room which was beautiful, you almost just want to stay inside the whole time! There were fresh picked flowers laid out which added a romantic touch. Very nice. The beach is just a 1 minute walk away, no exaggeration! The waiters were great at the restaurant. We ordered a village breakfast each morning!! So good! The only thing we wish is that they had more traditional belizean dinner options. We tried dinner on the first night and it wasn’t to our liking. Our waiter Charles who was great and had much patience, asked if it was something they could do & we opted for shrimp ceviche. We didn’t even ask and they took care of the bill, which was thoughtful! The big dock bar is a great place to spend were you end up spending few hours lounging and drinking or go diving off! Our bartender, Rudy, made some of the best drinks! Not only did they taste amazing but they were almost to pretty to drink! Most of our favorite drinks were customized.. we just told him what rum/tequila we liked!! They play really great music and the scene is beautiful. It’s really vacation vibes up there!! I didn’t want to leave and I’m ready to go back!😩
