Spent two nights here while in Iceland and it was wonderful. The room was very comfortable, and the front desk was extremely helpful, providing recommendations for dinner and how/where to see the northern lights. Would absolutely recommend/stay here again.

Great hotel for art lovers or those who are seeking a unique character stay. Rooms were cozy, food was delicious, and staff was always friendly, helpful, and gracious. Will be staying here again in the future.

Rooms were on the small side so take that into account; but, free parking is a big plus in downtown Reykjavík and it’s still just a short walk to the start of the rainbow road and the main stretch of the city. Would stay here again.

The room (twin bed) was relatively small and basic but clean and comfortable. Excellent coffee at the reception. Staff was genuinely friendly and helpful.
Cons: tv had only one English channel (UK ƁC); no body lotion; breakfast buffet was very expensive.

Expedia booked our reservation. When we arrived, we were told we had double booked, although Expedia website indicated only one reservation. Hotel double charged us.

This was our favorite hotel in Iceland. The staff were amazing. We enjoyed the comfortable beds, espresso machine and views from large balcony, wish we had stayed more than one night!

Lovely older hotel with beautiful artwork everywhere. Very convenient location to restaurants, shopping etc (<10. minute walk). Free parking was a great bonus, and the included breakfast was very nice.
Very small elevator was a challenge for 2 people luggage but that was a minor issue.
We would stay there again.

The 5 star customer service at Hotel Holt began even before I checked in. They helped me reserve a spa visit and a tour, and gave advice on airport transfers -- jumping in to help when a glitch in the Flybus website booked my ticket for the wrong day. Adam waited up for my 2 am arrival and Jennifer helped with additional bookings. The lovely breakfast and art collection throughout the building make it easy to overlook that my quiet single room was tiny and in need of an update. It had a coffee machine but no fridge. The hotel is in a cute neighborhood, easy walk to Rainbow street and the pond. Stately sitting area on the ground floor offered tea and coffee, but the bar was closed on the days I was there.

Beautifully decorated hotel with original artwork everywhere you look! Rooms are a bit small, but more importantly, an extremely polite and helpful staff, easy walking distance to the rainbow street, church, shops, tours, etc. Cozy rich wood and leather-furnished parlors and bar, lovely buffet for breakfast. More to see of this stunning country—will stay here again next time!

Very charming, arty hotel in an excellent location in the centre. Great, varied and changing selection for the buffet breakfast. Very friendly and accomodating staff, who even gave me takeaway breakfast when I checked out at 5AM!

This hotel is unique, chic, and cozy. The staff are incredible and very accommodating. We had a rental, with plenty of options for included parking. Our room was on the 3rd floor, with plenty of natural lighting. The bathroom was very nice, shower had excellent pressure and temperature. The provided espresso machine with included pods, cups and chocolates were the "icing on the cake" for our room.
The hotel has so much character! We loved walking around looking at each of the art pieces, statues, and themed rooms.

We loved the spacious, elegant areas downstairs, with beautiful pictures (dozens of them!) and period furniture and stylish decorations. There is tea and coffee downstairs at all times, we stayed there each night admiring the art.
The staff was most helpful and friendly. Free parking was a bonus.
The room (junior suite) was spacious and comfortable, but the bathroom is really tiny.
The hotel shows the signs of aging, and I hope it will be renovated because it is unique in its character. We enjoyed our stay there.

We had a great stay here. The hotel itself is beautiful. We really enjoyed the aesthetic; however the room was quite small and did not feel as nice as the rest of the hotel. The staff were wonderful, breakfast and the bar were great. Free parking was fantastic, and we were so close to everything downtown that we mainly just walked everywhere.
